    I know this guys on the ruling today, just don’t ever get pulled over in Mexico or any other nation and not have your papers on you. It would not be pretty.

    And keep in mind guys, I don’t have a clue why they aren’t reporting this, SCOTUS did not throw out anything, they more or less told the 9th circut to go back over the case and dot their I’s and T’s. This may very well come back to them.

  • Steve Perry

    @Ratboy

    Even your boy Judge Napolitano said it was a victory for Obama….lol.

    As long as Jan Brewer keeps spinning and claiming a victory, her images will be all over AZ news and that’s going to fire up the Dems in AZ to go and vote in droves. It was a bad mistake for her to try and spin it. She should’ve spun it the other way to fire up her base.

  • Coffee Steve

    @Steve Perry

    Keep in mind also Steve, that today’s ruling effected “only” the Federal involvement, it does not affect the States Law on detaining and checking Status.

    If someone gets pulled over and they don’t have proof, they are to be released, yes, but if a check revels a warrant or criminal background, they can and will still be arrested.

    The State was sued by the DOJ to even have the State Level law removed, it was not removed. The other factors dealt with Federal “ICE” involvement. All State level enforcement remains the same.

    Actually, SCOTUS ruled probably the only way they could have. They also reserved this case maybe to be included should Pres Obama’s Exec Order be brought up for a ruling to see if his passing up Congress is Constitutional, if it does come before the court and rules against the Administration, all these issues ruled on today become mute.

  • Ratboy

    The people of AZ want the imigration thing under control! They are not going to stand for watered down or in the case of the new Obama ruling to suspent the agreement with homeland security (which by the way does not sound like the AMERICAN thig to do to one of your states with tax paying people in it…….but I digress) so the “base” can get fired up all they want, the people of AZ just got pi$$ed!

  • Steve Perry

    @Coffee Steve…”If someone gets pulled over and they don’t have proof, they are to be released, yes, but if a check revels a warrant or criminal background, they can and will still be arrested.”

    I agree but that’s the norm in any state. However, Arpaio was taking individuals who didn’t have any record and putting them in jail….and in some cases deporting them. Now, he won’t be able to do that. In fact, Homeland Security just suspended their immigration agreements with the state of Arizona….and that’s bad news for Arizona, Brewer, and Arpaio.

    @Ratboy

    Hey, according to Jan Brewer, she and AZ won…LMAO.

  • Hillbilly

    Faith3 – No, the plan wasn’t shot down in court. What was shot down was the EPA wanting to take the coal plants off its list of regulatory oversight and give that to the states. That decision was struck down in court.

    ————————————-

    So from Feb 2008 to March 2011 Nobama’s EPA had no input on the new rule[s] being made. Glad you cleared that up. It was all the Bush administration doings.

    And furthermore, it clearly states that the EPA intended to propose air toxics standards for coal- and oil-fired electric generating units by March 16, 2011 and finalize a rule by November 16, 2011.

    Oops no input on the final rule either. Sure was nice of the Bush folks to stay on to finish the job. I guess your right & the head of the EPA is wrong.

    Administrator Lisa P. Jackson

    Last week, we finalized the Mercury and Air Toxics Standards, or MATS, a rule that will protect millions of families and, especially, children from air pollution. Before this rule, there were no national standards that limited the amount of mercury, arsenic, chromium, nickel and acid gases power plants across the country could release into the air we breathe.

    Read more here.

    On December 16, 2011, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) finalized the first national Clean Air Act standards to reduce mercury and other toxic air pollution from coal and oil?fired power plants.

    More to follow…

  • Hillbilly

    Faith3 – All that took place prior to Obama and had zip to do with Obama.

    —————————-

    Sigh! Thats all i can say.

    Now how is anybody but Nobama responsible for the matt rule? “Additional details” is a hyperlink to the site below.

    On December 24, 2009, EPA approved an Information Collection Request (ICR) requiring all US power plants with coal-or oil-fired electric generating units to submit emissions information for use in developing air toxics emissions standards. Additional details

    Read more here.

    All the data collected for ICR was after Bush left office & Nobama took office. So to say “All that took place prior to Obama and had zip to do with Obama” is wrong! I won’t hold my breath waiting on you to admit that or admit that that Nobama has no C&T law.

  • Hillbilly

    Faith3 – They did do it through tax incentives, tax cuts and spending but it was watered down. Are you saying, in order to stimulate the economy you must a. save first and then b. pay off debt. How does that stimulate the economy? Unless, you believe by allowing the country to contract and go into a full blown depression in order to save money to pay down debt is a reasonable plan. If so, how?

    ———————–

    I’m saying stop spending more than we take in. Part of the problem the economy is facing is the uncertainty over the deficit & debt we have. One of these days there has to be some pain involved to fix things. Nobody wants to act (cut spending or raise taxes) because the economy is weak. Well just sitting around & doing nothing sure ain’t helping.

  • Ratboy

    I bet no matter how they rule on Obamacare it will be a victory for the D”s!!!! LMAO

  • Faith3

    Hillbilly,

    “So from Feb 2008 to March 2011 Nobama’s EPA had no input on the new rule[s] being made. Glad you cleared that up. It was all the Bush administration doings.”

    Just keep on playing the partisan card Hillbilly. The EPA was ruled to regulate the plants under 112 of the Clean Air Act in 2008 and they did what they were ruled to do by the court.

    “Oops no input on the final rule either. Sure was nice of the Bush folks to stay on to finish the job. I guess your right & the head of the EPA is wrong.”

    ???

    “All the data collected for ICR was after Bush left office & Nobama took office. So to say “All that took place prior to Obama and had zip to do with Obama” is wrong! I won’t hold my breath waiting on you to admit that or admit that that Nobama has no C&T law.”

    It was collected once the rule was mandated. Should they have ignored the court ruling? If you don’t like the court findings, why not just say I disagree that the EPA should regulate Mercury and other toxins in the air instead of saying Obama is a radical doing something no other president has every done before. Your not even talking about the REAL issue at hand which is what effect the EPA has on this ruling. Instead, it’s Obama is a radical left President because he pushed through regulations without a mandate. It’s sounds silly and is a completely false argument.

    Pain like send the economy into a depression? What good will that do Hillbilly?

    -Like I said a month ago, either way it goes President Obama will win. Even if they strike down his healthcare, it’ll just fire up the base.
