Definitions:
Fast Affiliate Ratings: These first national ratings, including demographics, are available at approximately 11 AM (ET) the day after telecast, and are released to subscribing customers daily. These data, from the National People Meter sample, are strictly time-period information, based on the normal broadcast network feed, and include all programming on the affiliated stations, sometimes including network programming, sometimes not. The figures may include stations that did not air the entire network feed, as well as local news breaks or cutaways for local coverage or other programming. Fast Affiliate ratings are not as useful for live programs and are likely to differ significantly from the final results, because the data reflect normal broadcast feed patterns. For example, with a World Series game, Fast Affiliate Ratings would include whatever aired from 8-11PM on affiliates in the Pacific Time Zone, following the live baseball game, but not game coverage that begins at 5PM PT. The same would be true of Presidential debates as well as live award shows and breaking news reports.
Rating: Estimated percentage of the universe of TV households (or other specified group) tuned to a program in the average minute. Ratings are expressed as a percent.
Share (of Audience): The percent of households (or persons) using television who are tuned to a specific program, station or network in a specific area at a specific time. (See also, Rating, which represents tuning or viewing as a percent of the entire population being measured.)
Time Shifted Viewing – Program ratings for national sources are produced in three streams of data – Live, Live+Same Day (Live+SD) and Live+7 Day. Time shifted figures account for incremental viewing that takes place with DVRs. Live+Same Day (Live+SD) include viewing during the same broadcast day as the original telecast, with a cut-off of 3:00AM local time when meters transmit daily viewing to Nielsen for processing. Live+7 Day ratings include incremental viewing that takes place during the 7 days following a telecast.

Congrats and way to go Miami Heat, 2012 NBA Champions, woo hoo!!
I just can’t get over that 6.4 for the NBA. You rarely if ever see anything for any show over a 3.
Wow! The Choice more than last week! greats FOX!
@TimsDale4ever
Quite a few shows get over a 3
This series could have gotten amazing ratings with at least 1 more game. Oh well still great for a 5 game series
lmao that that Bieber twit has bombed — makes you wonder if he’s all the rave that the industry has made him out to be.
@timsdale4ever it’ll be over a 7.5 in the final ratings
Wow Gigantic rating for the NBA, Even the NBA Countdown show got it’s highest rating for any finals game in this series. I would love to see the ratings for the post-game celebrations for the Miami Heat, How many people watched it or tuned out.
too bad game 5 was a blowout. and too bad there’s no game 6 or 7. still, fun series!
The NBA will most likely get adjusted up to hi 7′s – lo 8′s.
ABC is really disappointed that it didn’t last another game cause game 6 might’ve been close to double digits in the demo.
Saving hope will not be renewed, but still a good show side fromt that. wow at justin beibers special flopping big time.
Saving Hope is a boring, forgettable canadian import that lives down to the standars set by all those other boring, forgettable canadian imports . Saving Hope was BAD!
You mean to tell me no one would pick up a really special show ” A Gifted Man ” A lot of people who finally found it , loved it. Wilson’s character might have turned some people off but that is great acting. He played a [ full of minself ] doctor. He did it great. After the finale I couldn’t wait till next season. 2 or 3 of his co-stars have been on POI Zeek and the handy man. Also Maria Bello was wonderfull in her friend’s 2 part finale ” Push “
@rich, anti-climax indeed. I have a feeling the next few years are gonna see the NBA get back to its heights. I mean everything are falling in place nicely:
1. Rivarly: LeBron vs. Durant
2. LA Lakers will have something to say about it.
3. Chicago Bulls’ rose is not happy, and will come back stronger
4. Celtics have found a new star before the big 3 retire.
5. Add Anthony Davis to the Mix…
6. Don’t forget New York + Lin
7. How about Kevin Love + Rubio?
Great time to be an NBA fan I think. TV wise, NBA could be challenging the NFL in the demo soon.
lmao that that Bieber twit has bombed — makes you wonder if he’s all the rave that the industry has made him out to be.
Most of his fans are teenage/preteen girls. So even if they had of watched that special it would not have shown in these ratings (18-49)…
Even Justin Bieber CANNOT save NBC lol. NBC, should’ve renewed the NBA.
OKC such big boasts for little results. To borrow a phrase from Gordon Ramsay, Oklahoma City Thunder “Piss Off” Congrats Heat.
Yay Healtes! Congrats to the Heat franchise and fans (like me)! I am thrilled for LeBron. His critics can continue to whine, but in truth they need to shut their mouths.
I see that demo for the Heat/Thunder increasing by over 1.0 in the final numbers.
@tatiG
Out of those basketball scenarios you mentioned, only K Love and Rubio show any interest. The rest, lol. Bulls had a chance, but blew it, Lakers are getting old and as nice as Mike Brown may be, he is no Phil Jackson. Celtics time was now, now it is gone, probably for good. Anthony Davis? probably not. Knicks and Lyn? It will be like Lebron and the Cavs all over again. Pacers? Please. Mavs? ‘fraid not, Cavs aren’t even in the mix.
In short, there is very little standing in the way for Miami to repeat next season, FULL season, as champions.
Saving Hope did awful. Ah Bieber has teenage fans so im not surprised it did bad. BBT great as always and 2 broke girls too.
