THE DUNCANS WELCOME A BOUNCING BABY BOY,

RESULTS REVEALED FROM OVER 25 MILLION VIEWERS' VOTES

TO DETERMINE HIS NAME...TOBY!

IN TONIGHT'S SPECIAL DELIVERY EPISODE OF "Good Luck Charlie"

In tonight's milestone episode of "Good Luck Charlie" (8:00-9:00 p.m., ET/PT), the hit comedy for kids and families, the Duncan family welcomed a baby boy -- and results were revealed from a viewer poll that determined the baby's name – 'Toby Duncan.' The parents decide upon a middle name, one inspired by popular culture, in the episode's tongue-in-cheek epilogue. The month-long "name the baby" poll at DisneyChannel.com tallied over 25 million votes around the world. In a particularly competitive race, the name 'Toby' received the majority of the viewer votes, edging out Noah, Jonah, Bobby Jr., Bo, Sydney, Erika, Mallory, Talia and Jenny. In the weeks leading up to tonight's episode, Disney Channel presented several behind the scenes interstitials that built the anticipation for Baby Duncan's arrival.

Adam Bonnett, senior vice president, original programming, Disney Channel, said, "The strength of 'Good Luck Charlie' lies with the talented team behind the scenes in writing and producing, and certainly the towering performances by our entire cast – together they perfectly capture the funny, tender and relatable family dynamic that viewers love watching and sharing in each week."

The episode is available on WATCH Disney Channel, and the first game featuring Toby Duncan and his big sister, "Teddy's Dream Dash," will debut Monday, June 25 on DisneyChannel.com.

The series has increased in ratings for its third season – "Good Luck Charlie" accounted for three of the Top 4 scripted telecasts in Total Viewers across all basic cable (averaging 4.6 million) and TV's Top 3 telecasts among Kids 2-11 (averaging 2.5 million), Kids 6-11 (averaging 2 million) and Tweens (averaging 1.8 million) for May 2012. For 2011, "Good Luck Charlie" was TV's #2 series among Kids 6-11 and Tweens, and the Disney Channel Original Movie, "Good Luck Charlie: It's Christmas" was cable TV’s #1 live-action movie of the year  in Total Viewers (8.3 million) and the #2 scripted telecast across all TV in Kids 6-11 (4.0 million/16.1 rating).

"Good Luck Charlie" stars Bridgit Mendler, Jason Dolley, Leigh-Allyn Baker, Bradley Steven Perry, Mia Talerico and Eric Allan Kramer. Raven Goodwin, Shane Harper, Micah Williams and Patricia Belcher recur in season three.

The series was created by Phil Baker and Drew Vaupen and is executive-produced by Baker, Vaupen and Dan Staley. It is a production of It's a Laugh Productions, Inc.

  • disney rocks

Disney spoiled the gender in the promo too.

  • disney rocks

I kinda don’t like that they had another baby. I didn’t think ;art night’s episode was that good.

  • Sean

    i Watched NICKELODEON Instead.

  • Kaylie

I agree that Disneys focus wasnt the gender. The main focus was the name that was chosen. Disney didnt really care if they showed the baby’s gender because the main purpose of what Disney was stressing was what name was chosen.

  • Nickelodeon_Rocks 2012

The episode was fantastic, the only thing I didn’t like was how they spoiled it with the blue hat during the promo, and maybe they should have released this right after the premiere? BUT I do agree on the fact that their focus was the name. The episode was heartwarming and funny. Now lets all hope that AMY duncan DOESN’T HAVE ANYMORE KIDS, LOL.

  • Nickels

Disney is full of idiot morons. Don’t show me spoiler promos for a show that I am watching ON LIVE TV. My god, how big of a corporation are they and how much money do they make? You’d think they’d be smart enough to at least let those of us watching the show find out the outcome without spoiling it during the first commercial break of the show. What a bunch of dipsticks.

  • Nickelodeon_Rocks 2012

Disney and Nickelodeon are crap when it comes to promos. I was actually very mad at disney after they showed that promo, they should have showed it AFTER the episode ended! I wouldn’t be suprised if the # of viewers dropped after the commercial was shown because it basically ruined the whole episode!

  • I luv nickelodeon

I didnt get to watch it cuz i was watching hollywood heights on nickelodeon. It was an episode i didnt get to see. I was going to watch the repeat of GLC, but there is no point in watching it anymore..

  • Herb Fine

    Why? Why add ANOTHER kid!

  • janiyah

i think that amy having another baby was a bad idea because soon teddy will stop making video diary’s for charlie and make a whole bunch for toby and they will have a birthday cake with HAPPY BIRTHDAY TOBY on it and happy birthday charlie at the corner of the cake, then when charlie and toby’s birthdays come they may only pay attention to toby, and sooner or later the show will be Good Luck Toby and charlie will probably be forgoten.

  • Olivia

Ummm, Amy specifically said they could never forget Charlie. It’s just something that doesn’t happen. You don’t forhet a kid no matter how many you have. Teddy can’t give Toby advice because she gives Charlie advice on GIRL dtuff.

Great episode!! I’m happy because i voted for Toby because it’s my dog’s name. LOL!

  • Kaydee

It was a really good episode, even if the new promo gave away the gender of the new baby, but I think that most people don’t realize that the people in Good Luck Charlie didn’t choose the baby to be a boy the baby really is Leigh-Allyn Baker’s baby boy so she couldn’t decide if it was a boy or girl .. But I loved this episode it was really cute and what Charlie said at the end was really sweet!! :)

  • alexxi

I know when the first commercial it showed I knew everything that was going to happen.

  • Cyan

I agree with everyone they totally revealed the baby’s gender in the commercia; Real Smart* Disney Channel REAL smart!

  • Cyan

Good Luck Charlie is still the best show on Disney Channel even though they did that stupid spoiler I mean Disney Channel SUCKS but Good Luck Charlie is great* !
