    Cw went down

  • Mi

    @disney rocks I heard it was preempted, hence it went down.

  • thesnowleopard

    To their usual numbers, too. Guess New York isn’t *that* significant a market for them. Kind of an irony, since Gossip Girl is set there.

  • Duncey

    Whitney held on well in the finals.

    Nikita did better than the whole week of ratings on The CW. Good thing the network held onto it.

    I can’t wait for the fall to get here so I can see how these Friday programs are going to perform especially the comedies.

  • Tabacha

    Nikita did better than the whole week of ratings on The CW. Good thing the network held onto it.

    Had a long day and needed a good chuckle. Thanks.

  • Lion

    Typically another hater response that got nothing better to do than to troll god you are pathetic.

  • Marie

    Why is it that every time someone points out Nikita isn’t doing strongly, they are a hater? No one is saying that the show’s characters or writing is bad. These are things that are debatable, but I don’t see this in question. People are saying the ratings are bad, which is acceptable comment on this, a ratings website. If you don’t like seeing Nikita’s numbers pointed out, then don’t come here. It gets tiresome seeing back and forth each week in the comment thread about something that’s the truth: Nikita’s numbers, even for The CW, are bad.

    Now if we discussed it’s summer retention performance versus other shows on The CW, that’s another conversation.

  • Lion

    They are haters and you know it. Tabacha is a proven hater If they or he were not why are they not ripping TVD repeats or other CW repeats that does way worse than Nikita. And when do you get in your mind that the cw do not look at ratings as much as other networks with how low All their shows are they get money for their shows from other revenues and there Nikita is one of their strongest performers. Its a top sellar for them that is fact.

  • John A

    Bondoel/Mikey is back. Anyway Nikita repeats are just matching the other repeats on the network so the numbers are ok.

  • Marie

    @Lion

    You totally missed and made my point at the same time. At the end of my original comment, I touched on the issue of repeat retention for CW shows–and how it is a totally different conversation than that of regular season new episode viewership. I was actually making an argument for Nikita. It’s clear though that your fan passion totally blinded you from seeing the point I was making. Which is my point in general.

    This is a Nielsen ratings website and people are going to comment on low performers. I started watching and love The Glass House, but people are already slamming that show because of its numbers, and its only aired 2 episodes. The difference between you and most other people visiting this site is that we don’t run around commenting on every negative comment other people have. People are going to talk smack. If you like your show, what other people say shouldn’t matter.

    And when did I ever say The CW doesn’t look at ratings as much as other networks? I didn’t, so I have no idea where you came from with that. Way left field. What I did say was that Nikita (like The CW as a whole) has really low nielsen ratings. And nielsen ratings are what this website is about. It’s not about shows that are “top sellers” or being loved by a cult following, though Nikita’s online and international viewership, coupled with GetGlue performance, are what really saved the show.

    @Marie
    Lion is most likely a repeat troll named Bondoel/Mikey, who gets himself banned and comes back under a new name. He picks a show to rant about and bashes anyone who talks about it in anything less than glowing colors. He doesn’t care about common sense or what the site is about. He only comes to troll.

    His buddy/sockpuppet appears to have been banned since a couple of weeks ago.

    As for Nikita’s ratings, we don’t know what, exactly, saved it. The A18-49 ratings for original broadcasts do seem to have a strong effect on a CW show’s survival and where it ends up on a schedule, but not so much effect on the CW’s overall survival. So, yes, there do appear to be factors we don’t see.

    However, Nikita’s survival isn’t a huge mystery in terms of the A18-49, either. Its demo was dead last all fall and uninspiring in the spring, which is why it’s on Fridays. But it remained steady while just enough other shows fell past it, which is why it’s been renewed. So, really, the A18-49 is still a good predictor for the show’s survival, even if it’s not the main factor for that survival.

    And, unless Nikita really tanks or the newer shows succeed and fail in a pattern that makes one of them a stronger candidate for that slot, it will likely be renewed for a fourth season to get the syndication numbers. It could even get a fifth season if the network is screwed enough at that point that there’s no point to launching new shows because they know it won’t get an affiliate renewal in 2015.

    But it is just as likely that the show won’t make it past next season. Likely-for-syndication doesn’t mean guaranteed, especially with the way TV conditions have been switching around the past few years. And Pedowitz can say he likes the show as many times as he likes, but he’s a fixer and if Nikita’s numbers start to drag the network down, he will cancel it. Dawn Ostroff he is not. He can’t afford to be.

  • Lion

    Actually you are wrong again this site say its practically a guarantee it will be renewed notthing likely about that and its pretty obvious it will be with it being renewed for a full 3rd season and being one of their strongest performers for them overseas they make a lot of money on this show in All the other revenues. Like you even said a 5th is even likely.
