How is summer reality TV having a good year? All the successful shows have been around for years and all the new reality shows have flopped (Take Me Out, The Choice, The Glass House, Duets, Breaking Pointe, The Catalina).
The only possible exception is American Ninja Warrior’s transition from cable to network (although NBC must be delighted with how successful it is).
I forgot Dogs in the City. In my defense, so has CBS’s audience.
(And before someone corrects me, The Choice hasn’t flopped and might be back next year, but it’s certainly not a hit.)
@ Derek
Am I the only one in America that loves the Glass House? I love Big Brother too, but I think it’s a really good show, although Alex not getting voted back in after doing exactly what America told him to do is so f*ck*d up.
Someone on another board explained it decently:
“The problem with the guy is he doesn’t understand the difference between someone you “love to hate” and someone you just plain “hate.” The former is good for television, the latter isn’t.”
Glass House is getting better, but they can’t really give quality programming with CBS basically shutting everything similar to BB down.
Monday Final Averages
Million Viewers = 5.13 Million Viewers
18-49 Demo Average = 1.5 Average
Yikes for ABC’s “The Glass House.” ABC should consider picking up CTV Canada’s 3rd season of “The Listener” to replace it. “The Listener” is garnering over a million viewers a week up here in Canada – a country of 33 million people. That would be equivalent to over 10 million a week in the USA. “The Listener” has improved so much over the last couple of years….in storylines and ratings. It’s one of the most watched homegrown shows, nationally, right now.
