   Obamacare’s Hidden Taxes

   Taxation: The high bench has confirmed that ObamaCare’s individual mandate is a massive tax on the American middle class. But let’s not forget the 20 other new taxes that are embedded in the law.

   The court was silent about the 20 other different taxes hidden in ObamaCare, more than half of which affect families earning less than $250,000 a year.

   Some of the new taxes are:

   A 3.8% surtax on investment income from capital gains and dividends that applies to single filers earning more than $200,000 and married couples filing jointly earning more than $250,000.

   A $50,000 excise tax on charitable hospitals that fail to meet new “community health assessment needs,” “financial assistance” and other rules set by the Health and Human Services Dept.

   A $24 billion tax on the paper industry to control a pollutant known as black liquor.

   A $2.3 billion-a-year tax on drug companies.

   A 10% excise tax on indoor tanning salons.

   An $87 billion hike in Medicare payroll taxes for employees, as well as the self-employed.

   A 2.3% excise tax on U.S. sales of medical devices that’s already devastating the medical supply industry and its workforce. The levy is a $20 billion blow to an industry that employs roughly 400,000.

   Yes missy, your insurance fess are going to go up along with your deductible. Enjoy the dumbocrat way of life

   The headline of the story is: “Obama to Soldiers: Pay Up — The Obama administration on Friday threatened to veto a defense appropriations bill in part because it does not include higher health care fees for members of the military.”

   Of course you know where obumbles stands, he’s a flaming liberal dumbocrat, socialist, communist. Which is the road he has taken the US on.

   It’s nice that you took money from the US and obtained an education now do something very constructive with your education by not wanting or helping the country go broke.

   If you insurance has not gone up lately be thankful, but know that the cost for you will be rising soon. I know that you have not been listening to those folks who have read the obumbles health care bill and are telling us the number of new taxes and the amount from obumbles government health care plan. Be sure and tell us when your company drops healthcare for their workers.

   The issues will be “How can the SCOTUS, in a law passed by congress, railroaded more like it, be changed from a mandate to a tax. The first court case concerning this will be when the gov collects the first fee/tax. Can you say “The court is now writing law”.

   Only insurance freeloaders like your tea party buddies will have to pay the “tax”.

   People who get their health insurance via their employer as well as responsible people who buy their own health insurance will NOT pay the tax.

    Politifact did not count the fines for not buying health care as a tax–don’t they agree with Roberts?? What a bogus view of the cost of the Affordable Care Act, a misnomer if ever there was one.

    Mitt Romney says ‘Obamacare’ adds trillions to the deficit….NOT TRUE!
    How is it that a law can raise taxes and cut spending, but also add trillions to the deficit?

    That was Mitt Romney’s claim after the U.S. Supreme Court upheld the core of the health care law on June 28, 2012.

    “Obamacare raises taxes on the American people by approximately $500 billion. Obamacare cuts Medicare — cuts Medicare by approximately $500 billion,” Romney said. “And even with those cuts and tax increases, Obamacare adds trillions to our deficits and to our national debt, and pushes those obligations on to coming generations.”

    Here, we’re fact-checking Romney’s claim that “Obamacare adds trillions to our deficits and to our national debt.” It’s a topic we’ve researched before.

    We asked the Romney campaign for their evidence for this statement, but we didn’t hear back.

    For claims about laws that are not yet fully enacted, our go-to source is the Congressional Budget Office. It’s a nonpartisan, widely respected agency with an expert staff that generates projections and reports about how proposed laws affect the federal budget.  

    The Congressional Budget Office is not always right in its projections. In recent years, for example, it overestimated how much it would cost to cover prescription drugs for seniors in Medicare. The program actually came in under projections.

    But for claims about deficits, we consider the Congressional Budget Office, often called the CBO, to be the standard by which we fact-check claims.

    The CBO said this about the health care law back in 2010: It lowers the deficit, by about $124 billion over 10 years.

    And in 2011, when Republicans offered a bill to repeal the health care law, the CBO said that increased the deficit, by about $210 billion over 10 years.

    Now, is the CBO infallible? Certainly not. And good questions have been raised about some of the CBO’s methods in accounting for the health care law’s effects. We reported on some those concerns in great detail in a fact-check of statement from U.S. Rep Paul Ryan, R-Wisc. He said the law was “accelerating our country toward bankruptcy.” We rated that Mostly False.

    The CBO itself acknowledges the uncertainty surrounding its estimates. Its reports regularly warn that uncertainty increases as it makes projections farther into the future.

    And, the Supreme Court ruling may change certain elements of the health care law’s costs, especially as it affects Medicaid spending. Medicaid is the joint federal-state health insurance program for the very poor.

    A statement on the CBO website on the day of the ruling said, “CBO is in the process of reviewing the Supreme Court’s decision related to the Affordable Care Act to assess the effect on CBO’s projections of federal spending and revenue under current law. We expect that this assessment will probably take some time.”

    Still, we find no factual basis for Romney’s claim that the law “adds trillions to our deficits and to our national debt.” We rate his statement False.

    This site in some ways and in some areas( some posters) is getting just like MSNBC. MSNBC almost never has on a conservative. The libs all talk only to each other( so they don’t have to leave their bubble) to be sure they get full agreement in everything they say. They usually find time to make fun of a few conservatives and they all sit around and laugh and tell each other how clever they are. Some of the left wing extremists on this site now only talk to each other, make fun of a few other folks and then tell each other how right they are. This ensures they( like MSNBC) can remain close minded and uniformed of others opinions. Hope Jeffie, Stevie, Suiko and now Boss enjoy each others company–you have ensured you will never learn anything beyond what you already believe the rest of your life. Kind of like being dead from the neck up. Enjoy each other.

    so if it goes down, it’s was because of the HC ruling, but goes up it CERTAINLY can’t be because of the HC ruling.
    It’s a “mess in Europe” that made it close 227 points up………..OOOOOKAY??? Not logical as usual.

    Similar reasoning as your complaints about President Obama, gas prices up its Obama’s fault and you complain everyday along with Fox News. Gas prices do down then it’s not because of Obama’s presidency, along with Fox News.

    Well the only thing you are is consistent being inconsistent.
