Rest in peace Andy
sad news
“Cause of death unknown” If I were Matlock, I’d guess OLD. Seriously, an actor who was as All-American as apple pie.
have to agree denver,he was just old and it was time for him to go,goodbye Andy you will be sorely missed
RIP, sad news indeed.
rip andy you a legend and you can see ur friend don knots now
RIP Matlock.
My Tv30 airs an hour reruns of the ANDY GRIFFETH SHOW EVERY NITE and has been since it was UPN for at least 11 years where I live.
ME-TOO here in Chicago shows the original Network tv versions of “TAGS” for an hour every afternoon. WGN-9 also shows “TAGS” but in the early morning hours before their 5-hour newscast – their versions are the edited syndicated versions.
Sad day for TV. Loved Matlock! Gonna miss you my distant relative. Rest in peace.
While he’s best known for TAGS & Matlock he had few good movie roles too. Most recently in 2007′s Waitress starring Keri Russel. Also the late 50′s movie No Time For Sergeants were it almost seems like it was a template later for TV’s Gomer Pile.
Awww, I *liked* Andy Griffith.
Bet there is no joy in Manteo tonight.
RIP Andy. I actually remember watching quite a few Matlock reruns in my youth…
RIP to a TV legend
People don’t often mention his movies. I recommend people watching A Face in the Crowd, No time for Sargents or Gramps.
No actor today could match Andy’s performance as Lonesome Rhodes.
Class: There maybe No Time For Sergeants but always time for a class act. RIP.
one of the greatest on tv and movies actors, only good memories for him
Attention Young Pups: He was best known as Sheriff Andy Taylor on the Andy Griffith Show!
I resent the fact that someone said he was old. That is not a reason why some has to die. RIP Andy!
R.I.P Andy “Matlock” Griffth
You will be missed.
