The BET Awards was Sunday's number one cable program, with a 3.2 adults 18-49 rating. True Blood came in second, with a 2.6 adults 18-49 rating, even with last week
We only receive the top 100 cable shows for adults 25-54 for the whole day from our principal source. If you don’t see an original episode of a show here, it’s because it wasn’t in the top 100.
The list below is long but you can use your browsers "find on page" feature (usually CTRL+F or CMD+F) to search - that's probably the easiest way to find Falling Skies.
UPDATED: Tons more weekend ratings data below the table. Thanks to commenter Nick!

@Robert
Thanks. (:
@Robert Seidman
Surprised about how few Nielsen households are out there, I thought it was more than the number you posted off hand anyway.
I was mostly speaking about what if Nielsen households had friends or family over and had their data entered as viewers when watching specific programs. Sure Nielsen has an idea of who in those households is watching what but what about additional viewers?
HBO has been killing Sunday nights lately. True Blood has been the number 1 show on Sunday nights every night but last night, but you will have that when there is an award show or an event being broadcast. True Blood is my favorite show on TV and thrilled they renewed it for a 6th season(did anyone actually think it wouldn’t get renewed???) HBO had a strong showing with Game of Thrones(2nd favorite series on TV), then they win Sunday nights with True Blood(Best show on TV, have an open mind people). Although it is only going onto its 3rd episode of the season I think it has a bright future ahead of themselves, give it some time aand give it a chance I have a feeling it will grow on everyone. I am sure that everyone is aware that HBO doesn’t do things like most TV Broadcast stations, they rely on customers paying $20 a month for their service, as long as the suits are happy with the show, aand they are not loosing any subscriptions they will keep rolling out the red carpet for their shows. I predict by the end of this season True Blood will set a record for most watched episode in series. I think this season is building up for something big, aand I think the previous 4 seasons have been setting up for what is happening in season 5, aand once that begings to happen and people start talking the few fans that have left the show will be back
@ Robert Seidman
Thank you for the fast response! That would mean 0.1 18-49 rating difference is a difference in 21 Nielsen individuals(I did 0.1% * 21,133)!
Gosh, so much rests on so few people. Considering cable shows have such small audiences a difference in 0.1 18-49 can mean quite a lot to the show’s success or failure. I wonder if that means they are more likely than Broadcast networks to look at other data for renewal, or for determining budget etc. Fingers crossed though that 42 more Nielsen people next week tune in Live.
Does anyone know if they did an encore presentation last year for Falling skies like they do this year? If they weren’t up against True Blood last year, and didn’t have an encore presentation, maybe people are picking and choosing the time they watch so the audience is legitimately spread out between the two times, and isn’t necessarily down from last year.
I messed up my post.. When talking about a show going into its 3rd episode, I am talking about The Newsroom, I believe the Newsroom will end up growing on fans aand they will make sure it is a show they make sure they catch just like True Blood, aand Game of Thrones. Their top series lately have been series that have supernatural beings, aand I think the Newsroom gets back to some sort of reality for them. Give the Newsroom and chance, I have enjoyed the first 2 episodes aand looking forward to the rest of the season to see what happensalthough anyone who watched soo far knows at some point in the series Will and Mac will get back together.. I def think Sorokin will make fans wait it out for 4 or 5 seasons before he gives the fans the Will and Mac relationship back, aand it will be one of the things that keeps fans coming back
@theend there is a mechanism for tracking houseguests with the People Meters though I’m not sure of the details of how that works or what Nielsen does with that data.
Wow, Newsroom dropped like a rock. I still think that it will improve in the second season.
Why are people saying WEEDS did horrible?
It was the highest rated episode since the season 7 premiere…
EPISODES basically bombed
@Dennis
Don`t wory about it WEEDS did great! Enjoy the last episodes and dont let people get inside your head
Syfy must be making a killing on their cheapo Saturday movies! They get better ratings than most things on Saturday and for sure better than most cw shows. They are aweful, but I love them! I love the nostalgia of having the stars from the 80s and early 90s I remember as a child! Tracie Good being chased by Spiders gotta love it!
Sorry, Tracie Gold!
Whats with the Nickelodeon and Disney hate from some of you? They are just as much cable networks as any of these. So it makes no sense for anybody here to get on people talking about Nickelodeon and Disney.
What if i said i’m tired of all the FX and TBS and TNT talk? All cable networks should be considered equals as far as the right to talk about them.
I remember when True Blood pulled in 5+ million viewers for nearly every premier airing. Now it seems to have settled in at 4.5 million. Can’t say I am surprised. The show has really ran it’s course. It was always just a guilty pleasure, but now it is hard to get through most episodes.
I can’t wait until ‘Breaking Bad’ begins. Sundays haven’t been the same since Game of Thrones and Mad Men ended.
@Dennis
Why are people saying WEEDS did horrible?
It was the highest rated episode since the season 7 premiere…
considering that the premiere was actually week ago the nembers are pretty good
@Nick: There’s no problem with discussing those networks in an intelligent manner. But the constant arguing about who’s better is childish, annoying and adds nothing to the discussion.
The Newsroom has been pretty bad …. all the characters are annoying.
Episodes
@LJ
I think last years Trainwreck of a season got people off it, I almost didn’t watch this year. But So far so good, IMO. Hopefully the King will bring back some of the lost numbers
@Chris
You should watch The Killing! season 2 was a blast!! I know season 1 finale was a letdown, but give season 2 a chance!!!!
For those concerned about Falling Skies, Dallas and Rizzoli & Isles both got a 1.1 in the key demo last week and then were renewed almost the next day.
So Falling Skies getting a 1.2 is still considered very good for a cable channel.
Of course, Falling Skies costs more to make, but its budget is still nothing compared to Terra Nova’s budget!
LJ, you act as if that’s a drastic drop. I mean, 4.5 is better than anything on HBO and most shows on cable. And this is the first season to air with HBO on the Go app.
