WOW, I can see why TNT renewed Rizzoli & Isles first out of all their shows it does seem to be one of their highest rated shows and is actually competing with Falling Skies a little this year. In fact it seems like it is pretty steady while Falling Skies and Dallas seem to be losing a little ground. But if I am wrong let me know. I am not the ratings pro.

  • silvit

FS and Dallas are still beating R&I where it counts. The gap between FS and R&I is not much different than last year’s in proportion. Both shows got bigger ratings last year. If I’m not mistaken, R&I never got 1.0-1.1 in its summer run last year, which is the ratings is getting now.

FS never got less than 1.4 rating last year. Now it got 1.2.

  • SAC

Thanks I see but it does look like Dallas is falling where R&I is gaining.

  • silvit

R&I seems stable, like it happens for every procedural. But its down year to year, even in the demo. If I remember correctly, last year it used to get almost 9 million viewers live + 7 days and 2.5 million 18-49 in its summer run.

Dallas is obviously losing viewers compared to the first episode, but it’s to be expected considering that it was the SERIES premiere and it’s serialized.

R&I got much higher ratings for its series premiere a couple of years ago than now and Falling Skies last year got 2.0 rating for its premiere. Both shows lost viewers during their run.

    @ SAC

This is TNT press release as of this January:

The Dec. 26 second season finale of Rizzoli & Isles chalked up 8.6 million viewers in Live + 7 delivery, with 2.4 million adults 18-49 and 3.1 million adults 25-54. For the second season overall, Rizzoli & Isles averaged 8.5 million viewers, 2.4 million adults 18-49 and 3.1 million adults 25-54.

Keep in mind that in the second season overall ratings are included the winter showings that are generally depressed for cable and they are putting down the overall average of the show. The summer average was higher.

As you can see, R&I is getting lower ratings now vs last year. But you can check for yourself all the past ratings here just by clicking on the R&I tag, or FS tag or Dallas tag. Or every other TNT show. ;-)
