Not interested in watching Good Afternoon America.

Boycott this GH fans or Jan. 2013 GH will be out and this will be in full time.

  • lll

The first week of guests make me not intersted in watching Good Afternoon America.

  • lll

If general hospital is gone and this show takes it’s place the chew isn’t far behind. Soon good afternoon america will be on for two hours instead of one.

This guest list sounds worse than I could have hoped in my wildest dreams! YEAH! If this is their level of entertainment GAA is going the way of The Revolution. This soap fan is pleased. GH forever!

(Wilson Phillips? And people say soaps are outdated. HA!)

  • MBmomof3

And these are the “Highlights”? Ouch!

  • iggy.

I’m getting the impression that soap fans are rude.

  • a p garcia

Makes me wonder why there is no “Afternoon Today”!

  • cc

Only if the guests were the cast of OLTL and they were on 5 days a week with a continuing story, would I consider tuning in.

  • RJ

Yeahhhh, when this outrates the soaps, don’t cry. Soap fans are up there in annoyance level with the fans of Nikita and Fringe.

  • auntannmarie

Having Jill Zarin on this is a deal breaker. We are a society that rewards bad behaviour from “Reality Stars”. The worse the behaviour the more opportunity they’re afforded. We need to use social media and let the networks know we’re not watching!

  • Sean

RJ…This Awful show will outrate General Hospital??? Only they have KELLY MONACO!! & THEIR WONDERFUL CAST! So, Look at the Soaps before you talk smack.

  • MBmomof3

@auntannmarie, you hit the nail on the head. Bethany Frankel got her own show for goodness sake.

  • sofaspud

The “star” guest line-up of Good Afternoon America defies comprehension. Did they ask Tony Geary and Maurice Benard to schedule the guests? LOL. I seriously thought this would take down GH finally but wow. Epic fail. And I sure cannot imagine the coveted 18-34 female demo tuning in to see Liza Minnelli, Anna Chlumsky or Kristen Johnson. And I agree, the addition of all these trashy reality “stars” makes the whole project smell like a used diaper. Wow, just wow.

  • MBmomof3

The title of this story should read “Good Afternoon America Premiere WEAK Guests” Sorry, I just couldn’t help myself.

Sofaspud, I think Tony and Maurice did a splendid job with this lineup. The following week we will enjoy the musical stylings of Rick Dees performing his latest hit “Disco Duck”

  • Alex

As a person who loved and still misses OLTL, I think it’s about time we just accept that daytime soaps are on their last legs. And, of all the things to replace it and GH with, this is one that is likely to succeed even better than The Chew, I suspect.

Although, if this somehow doesn’t work out, I would like them to try out a game show next time around.

Besides, maybe our efforts might be better placed supporting their nighttime soaps and trying to get ABC to reformat GH into a nighttime soap.

  • RJ

Alex, the one soap fan who finally has some sense! Thank you for putting your love of soaps behind you and just realizing the facts of the situation.

  • Melanie

@Alex and RJ, I agree with you guys. Also, I think Bethenny Frankel is just fine. To me she is one of the few reality stars who doesn’t portray bad behavior. There is nothing wrong with a woman who is married and has a child and is pursuing her dreams. She used her time on the NYC Housewives wisely then got her own reality show and has now become a successful entrepreneur. Some people are just angry that so many talk shows have replaced the daytime soaps. I miss some of these soaps too, but I have accepted they have run their course and it is time to move on. However, I think there are just too many talk shows saying the same things over and over and I would much prefer some game shows as replacements.

  • Brave

They got to do better than this with their guests. The Talk has better guests than this and I still don’t watch that show.
