TV Ratings Thursday: 'Rookie Blue', 'Take Me Out' and 'The Choice' Up, 'Duets' Flat, and 'Saving Hope' Hits Series Low

Due to the nature of live programming the ratings for ABC (Duets) are approximate and subject to more than the typical adjustments in the final numbers. See below for more information on these Fast Affiliate Ratings.

An all-repeat CBS was the number one network among adults 18-49 and with total viewers.

On ABC, Duets was flat with last week's series-low 1.0 rating . Wipeout earned a 1.7  adults 18-49 rating, down three tenths from last week's 2.0 premiere rating. Rookie Blue garnered a 1.3 rating, up two tenths from last week's season-low 1.1 adults 18-49 rating.

On FOX, Take Me Out  earned a series-high 1.3, up three tenths from last week's 1.0 adults 18-49 rating. The Choice scored a 1.6, up four tenths from last week's 1.2 among adults 18-49.

On NBC,  Saving Hope drew a series-low 0.4 rating, down three tenths from last week's 0.7 adults 18-49 rating .  Rock Center with Brian Williams earned a 0.9 rating, up a tenth from last week's 0.8 rating.

On the CW,  Breaking Pointe scored a 0.3 rating, up from last week's 0.2 among adults 18-49.

In Late-Night Metered Markets Thursday night:

  • In Nielsen's 56 metered markets, household results were: "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno," 2.6/7 with an encore telecast; CBS's "Late Show with David Letterman," 2.1/5 with an encore; and ABC's combo of "Nightline," 2.9/7; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 1.4/4 with an encore. 
  • In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno,” 0.9/4 with an encore; "Late Show," 0.5/2 with an encore; "Nightline," 0.9/4; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.5/3 with an encore.
  • At 12:35 a.m., "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" (1.2/4 in metered-market households with an encore) beat CBS's "Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson" (1.1/4 with an encore).  In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, "Late Night" (0.5/3 in 18-49 with an encore) topped "Late Late Show" (0.3/2 with an encore).
  • At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.7/3 in metered-market households with an encore and a 0.2/2 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.

Fast Affiliate Ratings: These first national ratings, including demographics, are available at approximately 11 AM (ET) the day after telecast, and are released to subscribing customers daily. These data, from the National People Meter sample, are strictly time-period information, based on the normal broadcast network feed, and include all programming on the affiliated stations, sometimes including network programming, sometimes not. The figures may include stations that did not air the entire network feed, as well as local news breaks or cutaways for local coverage or other programming. Fast Affiliate ratings are not as useful for live programs and are likely to differ significantly from the final results, because the data reflect normal broadcast feed patterns. For example, with a World Series game, Fast Affiliate Ratings would include whatever aired from 8-11PM on affiliates in the Pacific Time Zone, following the live baseball game, but not game coverage that begins at 5PM PT. The same would be true of Presidential debates as well as live award shows and breaking news reports.

Rating: Estimated percentage of the universe of TV households (or other specified group) tuned to a program in the average minute. Ratings are expressed as a percent.

Share (of Audience): The percent of households (or persons) using television who are tuned to a specific program, station or network in a specific area at a specific time. (See also, Rating, which represents tuning or viewing as a percent of the entire population being measured.)

Time Shifted Viewing – Program ratings for national sources are produced in three streams of data – Live, Live+Same Day (Live+SD) and Live+7 Day. Time shifted figures account for incremental viewing that takes place with DVRs. Live+Same Day (Live+SD) include viewing during the same broadcast day as the original telecast, with a cut-off of 3:00AM local time when meters transmit daily viewing to Nielsen for processing. Live+7 Day ratings include incremental viewing that takes place during the 7 days following a telecast.

    A tale of two countries Saving Hope, save thyself as SH sinks in the US it soars in Canada with the equivalent of 16 million viewers (1.6 mill x 10). I have not seen it, nor am I likely to ever see it … but hey US, can 1.6 million Canucks really be wrong?

    rob60990, I was thinking the same thing regarding Take Me Out. FOX had to know it would be down due to the competition from Olympic Trials. But now it garners its highest demo rating. FOX should have been patient with it, giving audiences a chance to discover it before moving it to Saturday.

    Off topic, but when is FOX going to begin showing Touch repeats?

    Take me out is moving? U mean it’s not done yet? What about The Choice? Please say that is done. Touch would be a great choice to rerun in the summer.

    yeah and you could watch an hour of BBT on CBS from 8 to 9 and then a couple of hours more on TBS (switching tot he Food Network for the Men at Work half-hour :-) )

    As someone who doesn’t watch medical shows, I’ve found Saving Hope to be good show, it’s no Grey’s, but it’s very entertaining. I’m sure it will live on in Canada

    LOVE that DUETS is bombing — why can’t these networks see that these singing/talent shows are SATURATED already!!!!!!!!!!!! I saw that E is starting another one soon called OPENING ACT where people are selected (in talent I suppose) to open a big name singing celebrity’s act. z.zz.zzz..zzzz…zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

    tbbt is a comedy, Person of interest is a drama, completely different shows so if it doesn’t keep most of the viewers, its understandable

    :-( Saving Hope. A 0.7 might be okay, but a 0.4 is not good enough!! I hope another network picks it up for next summer. NBC treated this show very badly. No promotion or lead-in. That Mon @ 10 slot looks really cozy, but SH got stuck on Thursday, and repeats got that slot.
    FOX was definitely bloated. No way TMO got a series high after it was canceled.

    Wow, that’s really not fair if one of the highest-rated Canadian made shows in Canada gets dropped because Americans haven’t taken to it. Let that be a lesson for Canadian broadcasters: don’t get into bed with American broadcasters, especially one as pathetic as NBC.
