“The left had massive war protests when Bush was President. Why are there no protests now?”
Most of the war protests were about the Iraq war not the afghan war….you know the senseless war that we had no right to go to. The Economy has replaced the wars in the media….plain and simple to comprehend.
***********************************************
But, suik, the war in Iraq is just now winding down, and on Bush’s timeline, agreed to with the Iraqi government in 2008…so where were the liberal protestors between Jan 2009 and now? Oh they just forgot about the war? And let’s not forget that the media went nuts when Iraq got to 2000 soldiers killed, but when Afghanistan got to that, not a word from the Media…as for Fox not mentioning the afghan war, that’s only because you don’t watch Fox new…because I hear stories about afghanistan all the time on Fox…

The “Job Creators” have had tax breaks for 10 years now……where are the jobs.
*************************************************
They were there, until the Democrats took over congress in Jan 2009…Bush’s unemployment rate averaged like 5.6%…Obama can’t even claim 5.6% for one month in 3 1/2 years….you libs need to read more, and watch MSNBC less…lol

It’s okay, Robert, I just got here
“you libs need to read more, and watch MSNBC less…lol”
I haven’t watched MSNBC in over a year….
On March 20, 2009, in the first large demonstration in Washington, D.C. since Barack Obama became President, thousands of Americans, some bearing mock coffins to protest war casualties, took the streets on the sixth anniversary of the 2003 Iraq invasion to protest the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.[40]
More than 10,000 people marched on the Pentagon. Led by a contingent of Afghanistan and Iraq war veterans, the protesters proceeded on to the headquarters of major military-industrial corporations such as Boeing, Lockheed Martin, General Dynamics, and KBR, corporations that the demonstrators characterized as “merchants of death” and to which they sought to deliver symbolic coffins.[41]
In Los Angeles, thousands marched down Hollywood Boulevard to call for all U.S. troops to be brought home. A 4,000-strong crowd took part in the “Stop the Wars” march and rally.[40][42]
Another 4,000 people demonstrated in San Francisco.[41] Rallies against the wars similarly took place in New York City, San Diego, Saint Paul, Minneapolis, and other American cities.[40][43][44][45][46][47]
On March 28, 2009, up to 15,000 protesters marched through central London to demonstrate ahead of the G20 summit of world leaders. The Put People First march, organized by an alliance of more than 150 anti-war, environment, charity, labour, student, faith, and development groups, included calls for Western troops to pull out of Afghanistan and protesters chanting “What do we want? Jobs not bombs.”[48]
On October 7, 2009, Students for a Democratic Society called a national day of action against the war in Afghanistan. Over 25 chapters of SDS planned and held various actions around the country.[49][50] A “Funk the War” march led by Rochester SDS was forcibly ended by the police, with 12 of the 60 marchers arrested and later released or bailed out.[51][52]
On the weekend of October 17–18, 2009, anti-war protests took place in 50 cities across the United States. In Boston, hundreds of protesters gathered at Copley Square to protest the war in Afghanistan, Pakistan, and Iraq. Zoya, a 28-year-old Afghan woman spoke against the U.S.-led war in her country, saying her homeland does not need more foreign occupation. Suzette Abbot, carrying a sign that read “Yes We Can Get Out of Afghanistan”, said “Obama needs to make good on his promises. We all worked to get him elected. Now he needs to earn that peace prize.”[53][54][55]
In Minneapolis, 400 people marched, calling for an end to the U.S. war in Afghanistan and an end to the continued U.S. occupation of Iraq.[53]
The organizers in Minneapolis stated:
President Obama is reported to be listening to the generals about the next steps in Afghanistan; he should be listening to the people, who want an end to the war. During the worst economic crisis since the Great Depression, the U.S. government is spending billions for wars and occupations, while millions lose their jobs and housing and go without health insurance.
On October 24, 2009, more than 10,000 people marched through the streets of London in protest against the war, which they said is a futile and unwinnable conflict. Protesters called for the withdrawal of British troops from Afghanistan, gathering first at Speakers Corner, Hyde Park, before marching to Trafalgar Square. The number of British soldiers killed in the eight-year-long war was 222 at the time of the protest.[56][57][58][59][60]
Lance Cpl. Joe Glenton defied orders from his commanding officer to become the first serving soldier to openly attend a national anti-war demonstration. He stated:
When I went to Afghanistan I was proud to serve the Army and to serve my country, but before long I realised the government as using the Army for its own ends. It is distressing to disobey orders, but when Britain follows America in continuing to wage war against one of the world’s poorest countries I feel I have no choice.
Paul McGuirk, who served in Afghanistan until April 2008 but left the Army because he could not support the war in Afghanistan, said:
I think the government should stop pretending it’s a just war and wasting the lives of our guys, and stop pretending it’s a winnable war.
The oldest protester taking part in the march, Hetty Bower, 104, lived through both World Wars and said she felt nothing has been learnt. She recalled seeing cheering young men as they marched to the trenches when she was nine-years-old.
It didn’t take long before we saw those men coming back missing legs and missing arms, totally blind and war was no longer fun.
On Saturday, November 14, 2009, around 1,000 people demonstrated against the war as NATO’s parliamentary met in Edinburgh, Scotland while at the same time a poll showed that the majority 71% of Britons want British military forces withdrawn from Afghanistan within 12 months.[61][62]
On the same day, about 200 South Koreans in Seoul protested their government’s plan to send troops to Afghanistan. Lee Jung-hee, a lawmaker with the opposition Democratic Labor Party said: “We should not fall into the swamp of the U.S. anti-terror war.”[63]

Isn’t it funny how the stats the libs show is almost always the reverse of the truth….but then, notice it didn’t use the real source, he used an unnamed “industry source”…probably MSNBC…
“Iraq got to 2000 soldiers killed, but when Afghanistan got to that, not a word from the Media”
Because a lot of people feel that we went to Afghanistan for a reason (9/11) yet Iraq was for NOTHING….and was based on a lie/false information? If you can’t see the difference then please bless your soul….
Liberals are bragging about a new poll that shows Obama and Romney tied at 47% each…of coarse, that leaves 6% undecideds, and we all know that the undecideds usually vote for the challenger, which makes it really Obama 47%, Romney 53%.
But then we find out what the breakdown of the poll was, and it was 33% Democrat, 24% Republican and the rest independent….this means that it was left leaning by a full 9%. now if we leave the independents as they are, and even out the dems and reps, we get 4.5% less for Obama, and 4.5% more for Romney, which means 42.5% Obama, 51.5% Romney…and when we add the 6% undecideds in, we get 42.5% Obama, 57% Romney…
It’s obvious Obama is in so much trouble, it explains why he is spending millions of dollars on ads that are 100% lies…it’s called desperation..

But all the Dems voted to go to war in Iraq, just like Bush did…if they were lied to, so was Bush…and let’s not forget, even Saddam, when captured admitted he went out of his way to make people think he had large supplies of WMDs. So of course we thought he had them. And small cashes of WMDs were found…so it’s not like he didn’t have any…
Poor Stan T. Thinking that 100% YES ONE HUNDRED percent will vote for Romney…..ONE HUNDRED PERCENT! This is the second time you’ve said this. No one knows who has what and it’s still far away from the elections so both sides throwing these numbers out are just plain dumb. The right posts in here all the time about how Obama is barely beating Romney or how Romney is one point ahead, yet when 1 single lefty (Jeff, lol) posts a poll with Obama winning you jump all down his throat calling him an idiot….yet we have righties in here posting polls all day….LOL
Disclosure forms reveal that Democratic National Committee chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz, a member of Congress from Florida, previously held funds with investments in Swiss banks, foreign drug companies, and the state bank of India. This revelation comes mere days after the Democratic chair attacked presumptive Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney for holding money in Swiss bank accounts in the past.
MSNBC hit a new low last night (Tuesday) on Larry O’s show. When a so called “journalist” airs a story about a loud-mouth governor being overweight as the lead-in it’s scraping the bottom. I really try to get through their programming. It’s a waste of time. Are people paid to watch that channel? All of their hosts sound hopped up on stimulants and go off on these opinionated non-stop diatribes. I wonder if they have an oxygen mask under the desk for the hosts to use in between commercials. I am trying to enlighten my husband so he is informed about current events so we tuned into Rachel M and after five minutes, begged me to change the channel. He couldn’t take her babbling on and on and on and on and on and on………. I can’t tell you what he said about Sharpton, profanity is flagged. He likes Billy O and Greta, not Hannity. He thinks Piers Morgan is a “bloody idiot”. And lastly the “cute chick” with the long hair (Erin Burnett) shouldn’t smirk so much, makes you look cynical. He stopped watching news on TV after Peter Jennings died.
Morning all

NAACP Rallies Around Holder After Contempt Charges
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uiMVpPCPxxM&feature=player_embedded#t=0s
Forgot this tidbit for last post..
“I bet there would be no cheering if Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry were black. For the NAACP, and many of their followers, it’s all about skin color. They do not care that Holder lied, twice, under oath. They don’t care that innocent Mexican citizens have been killed by Holder’s gun trafficking scheme.”
“Again, wrong skin color.”
“They only support Holder due to skin pigmentation, not his character.”

Ah, but we need to mention the White Papers and the manipulation of both public perception, as well as Congress, about the war and the lead up to the Iraq War.
From The National Archives with documents attached: http://www.gwu.edu/~nsarchiv/NSAEBB/NSAEBB254/index.htm
“The Phase II report on Bush administration public statements, in conjunction with the SSCI’s original July 2004 report on Iraq’s alleged Weapons of Mass Destruction, indicates that political manipulation extended beyond the intelligence itself to affect investigation of the intelligence failures on Iraq as well as the Bush administration’s use of that information.
In conjunction with other recently declassified materials, the Phase II report shows that the Bush administration solicited intelligence then used to “substantiate” its public claims.
A recently declassified draft of the CIA’s October 2002 white paper on Iraqi WMD programs demonstrates that that paper long pre-dated the compilation of the National Intelligence Estimate on Iraqi capabilities.
The timing of the CIA’s draft white paper coincides with a previously available draft of the British Government’s white paper on Iraqi WMD, demonstrating that the Bush administration and the Tony Blair government began acting in concert to build support for an invasion of Iraq two to three months earlier than previously understood.
A comparison of the CIA draft white paper with its publicly released edition shows that all the changes made were in the nature of strengthening its charges against Iraq by inserting additional alarming claims, in the manner of an advocacy, or public relations document. The draft and final papers show no evidence of intelligence analysis applied to the information contained. Similar comparison of the British white paper shows the same phenomenon at work.
Declassified Pentagon documents demonstrate that the CIA white paper was modified in ways that conformed to the desires of the Undersecretary of Defense for Policy and his office, in much the same way that British documents indicate that country’s white paper was changed to conform to the desires of the Blair government.”
Egypt’s president-elect has vowed to win the release of an Egyptian cleric jailed by the U.S. for planning the first attack on New York’s World Trade Center.
Omar Abdel-Rahman, “the blind sheikh,” is serving a life sentence in a federal prison for his role in the 1993 bombing that killed six people in lower Manhattan. The attack on the World Trade Center launched by al Qaeda eight years later on Sept. 11, 2001, killed nearly 3,000 people.
