   “Steady at 1.4 is not what ABCFAM wants or needs. They are in desperate need of a hit and Bunheads is not it. Only a couple years ago that a show at that number would be a certain cancellation for them. Everything on the network has dropped so much that number looks okay.”

   It might not be what they want, but considering that the ratings for their other shows are dropping like flies and Bunheads remains steady, it should be counted as a healthy thing for the network.

   Love and Hip Hop is almost at a 2.0 WOW!!!! NBC can’t even get that

   Teen Wolf had its best episode yesterday so hopefully it can go up from here

   Like The Newsroom, Perception wasn’t all that great. Now waiting for Political Animals!!! Hope it doesn’t disappoint

    Closer was top notch as always. I’m not overly concerned with the demo, mainly because Rizzoli/Iles pulled a 1.0 last week. That’s not much better. Perception isn’t out the woods. It needs to maintain over the next five weeks because it’s then bumped by the premiere of Major Crimes for a week. We’ll see…

    I’m sure that the TSL actors kind of want the show to be over at this point. They’ve been at it forever and the storyline is getting kind of dry now. I mean, take Shailene Woodley, for instance. The girl did one movie and racked up tons of nominations, one of which was for a Golden Globe and everyone thought that she should have been nominated for an Oscar. She’s moving on. The one downside to removing TSL from ABCF’s lineup is that there would literally be one strong show on the network with a really good fanbase and that would kind of suck for them.

    This is good news for Perception. It retained 89% of it’s leadin. Sadly, the Closer is not the ratings beast it used to be. As long as it stays steady until renewal time, it will be renewed. Same for Bunheads.

    Speaking of Bunheads, what a bad name. Makes me think of a human-flavored donut. Or people walking around with bread for heads. That’s almost worse than Cougar Town. Almost.

    What about Switched at Birth? It’s ABC Family’s second-highest-rated drama (behind PLL, just above Secret Life), and has just as much hype as SL. And with only six hours a week of original programming, two strong dramas is good.

    @ Bunheads_fan You’re right. Bunheads was pretty erratic last night. The script was full of tangents that didn’t really contribute much to the show. The jokes didn’t work and the final scenes with the ballerina donning various disguises was downright silly. I’m rooting for this show like crazy but, with the exception of the last minute or so, it wasn’t really very good. I’m in for the full 10 show order regardless. However, I’d like to see more focused stories.

    Miobi 1.68 viewers for season two finale(couldn’t find season three ratings but know 0.4-0.5 demo)
    Jane by design 1.083 viewers 0.4 demo on June 26 2012
    Pll 2.335 viewers 1.0 demo on June 26 2012
    JBD and I suspect TLG after a 10-13 episode season two will both be cancelled.
    Bunheads might be steady and grown out of its lead in but are those honestly good enough ratings for it to be renewed?JBD,MIOBI,TLG are the lowest rated abcfamily shows & JBD & TLG both had/have lower ratings than miobi but miobi was cancelled.TLG I think will do badly with such a long hiatus & being on in winter with a lot of competition and people on break in beginning of Jan. I really do hope Bunheads and JBD get renewed.

    Switched at Birth is really kind of up in the air right now. It started off great in ratings but when it came back it dropped quite a bit. Its January ratings are pretty on par with the current Secret Life ratings. After a 6 month hiatus it can really go either way with how well it will do but it’s too early to tell. Don’t forget it is still in its first season so there isn’t much to compare it to.

    Thank you for digging up those numbers. Very interesting. If you want to really compare, the way ABCFAM officials are, you have to look at where shows are without any marketing or promotion. For Bunheads to be at that number in it’s first run of ten, with all the money and promotion behind it, is terrible. You can’t compare it to Secret Life which has been on for five years, or MIOBI that was on for three with absolutely no money spent on it whatsoever. The only recent shows on ABCFAM that paid off on the investment of the marketing to debut and hold viewers throughout season one and two are Pretty Little Liars, Secret Life, MIOBI. Chloe King and Switched@B got viewers and instantly lost them. Bunheads, Lying Game and Jane BD never really got the interest to begin with.
