    I agree Oliver doesn’t have a clue. CBS will have much more of a Monday problem from 8pm-9pm than from 9pm-10pm. HIMYM has been eroding viewers by not advancing the arc story and do I really have to say anything about Partners?

  • Ryan Schwartz

    @Joel, HIMYM just had its highest rated season yet. You clearly aren’t paying attention.

  • MissJo

    @MG

    Law & Order SVU is not on CBS…

  • Oliver

    What are you talking about? Two Broke Girls was the highest rated new comedy of the past season.

    Yes, it’s the biggest new show of the past season, but that doesn’t make it as strong as TaaHM/TBBT and I’m far from convinced it’s established enough to anchor CBS’s comedy night.

    Plenty of shows do well for one season and start struggling afterwards. Remember what a monster hit Heroes was during its first season? Remember Samantha Who? Remember Earl?

    I think CBS are making a mistake and another network should exploit it (much like CBS did by moving TBBT to Thursday against Community after NBC’s screwed up Community’s launch).

    I don’t know what “dreck” is

    Consult a dictionary?

    but Mike and Molly is CBS’s fifth highest-rated comedy and one of the best comedies on TV quality-wise.

    Wow, CBS’s FIFTH highest rated comedy? Seriously impressive stuff for a network which has six comedy timeslots.

    Mike & Molly has been the beneficiary of the monster lead-in from TaaHM. It’s not a strong standalone performer. In all likelihood, it’ll scrape to syndication numbers (it has an FX syndication deal) and be axed (unless CBS end up in an NBC/Fox-esque spiral in the interim).

  • RyanCanada

    all i care about is Mike&Molly, 2BrokeGirls, and BigBangTheory.

  • Andrew

    Is it just me or CBS shows are basically crap.

  • Red Jane

    It’s working for CBS so sure no major changes…

  • Oliver

    I agree Oliver doesn’t have a clue. CBS will have much more of a Monday problem from 8pm-9pm than from 9pm-10pm. HIMYM has been eroding viewers by not advancing the arc story and do I really have to say anything about Partners?

    HIMYM’s last season, season 7, got its highest ratings ever. The show is a long-established (and young-skewing) hit and anything up against it will get crushed. This makes it hard for networks to compete on the half-hour.

    By contrast, 2BG has been going for a single season (despite great ratings) and M&M has been cruising on its monster lead-in (and is the lowest rated returning CBS comedy). Both are older-skewing. Run something decent up against them and if 2BG starts falling then it might have a chance.

  • hubert_wentland

    @Oliver
    Monday on CBS will be okay only if people will like Partners. it’s stuck between HIMYM and 2BG. the two had really similar ratings this season, so i’m guessing they share a lot of audience. if 2BG/HIMYM fans will like newbie, whole night will be constant. (is it the word? i’m not sure).

    And if people hate Partners – Friend Me will come to rescue. or RoE, though it would be bad idea to pair the show with HIMYM again.

  • JLK

    Survivor got an earlier premiere date because the premiere is 90 minutes and its the best show in CBS.

  • Joseph

    Maybe ABC will not start their Fall season until October (as will The CW).

  • Dean_W

    @ MG
    ‘Law & Order: SVU’ is not on CBS. It’s on NBC and it premieres on September 26 with a two Hour Season Premiere at 9.

  • TomSFBay

    A lot of people here need to get real. A good number of these comments are delusional.

  • Jim

    @Andrew
    It’s just you.

  • SalaciousCrumb

    They still havent said how they will do their NFL DH weeks.

  • Paul

    How does one network air so much garbage?

  • Mon

    Could have been perfect if Sundays were stated like this::

    7:00ish-8:00ish PM 60 Minutes
    8:00ish-9:00ish PM THE Amazing Race
    9:00ish-10:00ish PM THE Good Wife
    10:00ish-11:00ish PM THE Mentalist

  • Networkman

    I think CBS feels confident about Monday night because of the competition. They are willing to settle for coming in a close 2nd in demo on Monday and also 2nd or 3rd in viewers. It all depends on how viewers respond to The Voice this Fall.

  • SJ

    @Nick

    Are you seriously suggesting that Parenthood, which gets like a 1.7 on a good day, will be able to beat CBS’ most buzzed-about new drama? Are you furthermore suggesting that The Amazing Race, The Good Wife and The Mentalist will do better than Once Upon a Time, Revenge and 666 Park Ave? CBS will be dead last on Sundays for the whole year, just like they were last year. No question about that. ABC will come in second on nights when Fox isn’t carrying football and they’ll be first from March to May.

    @Oliver

    I think you’re forgetting one important thing – 2 Broke Girls is on CBS. So I don’t see it having a Heroes-esque ratings drop. As a matter of fact, I expect it to rival Modern Family as the #1 scripted show on TV.

    @Joseph

    ABC has the Emmys on September 23. If they don’t premiere anything until October, they’re certifiable.

  • The End

    @Paul

    I heard the programming on the Troll network is more suitable to your tastes.
