CBS NEWS’ “FACE THE NATION” IS THE #1 PUBLIC AFFAIRS SHOW ON SUNDAY, JULY 8

“FACE THE NATION” IS UP +18% IN HOUSEHOLDS, +14% IN VIEWERS, +20% IN ADULTS 25-54, COMPARED TO LAST YEAR
CBS News’ FACE THE NATION was the #1 public affairs show on Sunday, July 8, placing first in households, viewers, adults 25-54 (tied with ABC). The CBS broadcast posted a 2.0/06 in households, 2.64m viewers and 0.6/03 in adults 25-54, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings. Editor’s Note: FACE THE NATION’s second half-hour was broadcast contiguously across 69% of the CBS affiliates.
FACE THE NATION is up +18% in households (from 1.7/05), +14% in viewers (from 2.31m) and +20% in adults 25-54 (from 0.5/03), compared to last year.
Television year-to-date, FACE THE NATION is up +11% in households (2.1/06 from 1.9/05) and +6% in viewers (2.91m from 2.75m), compared to last year. Television year-to-date, FACE THE NATION is first in adults 25-54 (0.7/03, tied with NBC).
On the broadcast, Bob Schieffer interviewed Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.); Sen. Dick Durbin (D-Ill.) and former Gov. Haley Barbour (R-Miss.) and hosted a political roundtable featuring Chief White House Correspondent Norah O’Donnell, CBS News Political Director John Dickerson and CBS News Chief Legal and Political Correspondent Jan Crawford. Schieffer also hosted a second roundtable on baseball with historian Doris Kearns Goodwin; Sports Illustrated senior editor Frank Deford; former All-Star Harold Reynolds; and ESPN’s Jayson Stark.
