0.5 for Parks? Ouch, Whitney gets that on Friday.
I guess the threshold for scripted summer Canadian co-productions is around ~1.0.
Wipeout is dying, but it’s good for at least another summer run next year. I wouldn’t do a winter version if I were ABC (and I don’t think they were planning on it, either. I don’t think Wipeout has even been renewed yet.)
Wipeout Winter was a place holder for their scripted drama failures.
Interesting how TVD got a .3 in both hours. but the past month when it has been on at 9 it allways got a .2. Good to see it geting a .3 again.
@SJ
LA Complex got renewed with 0.2, remember?
And Wipeout is still ABC’s second-best summer reality. It ain’t goin’ anywhere
The winter edition also beat all the dramas in that slot.
Wipeout seems to be the only show immune to the Thurs @8 death slot. Maybe ABC should’ve kept it there and put one of those new realities at 9.
Wipeout is dying? It’s dirt cheap to make, it’ll run and run on those ratings.
Even a cheap show isn’t going to stay on if nobody’s watching. I do agree though that where it’s at now is still far from cancellation.
So far, HART OF DIXIE tops the week on The CW with a 0.3/1—0.86!
only left is obviously NIKITA and SUPERNATURAL
Prediction: During the Olympics, NBC will air Olympic coverage under the “Rock Center” title to boost that show’s anemic ratings. They do whatever Brian Williams wants. I find it amazing that people actually trust him despite the fact that he’s a sleazy snake oil salesman whose only goals are to promote himself, his broadcast, his sponsors and NBC’s sports & entertainment programs.
Not bad for POI… and it’s a rerun in a new time slot
ABC is better off not doing any Winter Wipeout. Wipeout isn’t doing too bad for summer. If it had a long year break, it would be able to pull over a 2.
Of course Wipeout will be renewed, I just made the “dying” reference in the context of it losing over 50% of its audience vs. January 2011.
@SJ, How so? Wipeout is not as funny without Jill Wagner. Vanessa Lachey just seems to be going through the motions.
I think Duets proves that music competition shows have exceeded what the public will tolerate.
Duets went live too late! All its shows should be Live! Sing Off has same problem! Duets and Sing Off should always go Live! Those shows are gimmick not serious talent shows! Wipe Out is Cousin show of Big Brother 14! Big Brother 14 first competition looks Wipe Out obstacle! Wipe Out will rebound! The Glass House should go Live for Limbo Ceremony taking Duets’ spot! Duets takes The Glass House’s Monday 10PM EDT/9PM CDT! ABC still has shot taking Thursday with Duets’ weak ratings! Big Brother 14 is awful this season! That’s reason CBS took ABC Court!
Vanessa isn’t bad, it’s just that the chemistry Jill Wagner had within the show was gold and a big reason why many (myself included) watched the show.
Vanessa has quirky and funny lines too, but it feels too much like she’s replacing Jill rather than doing her own thing. And it’s not working.
Rookie Blue is one of the best shows of the summer.A lot of people wasn’t able to watch ABC due to Time Warner contract problems.
