Letterman," 1.8/4; and ABC's combo of "Nightline," 3.1/7; and "Jimmy
Kimmel Live," 1.4/4 with an encore.

* In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results
were: "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno," 0.8/3; "Late Show," 0.4/2;
"Nightline," 1.0/4; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.5/3 with an encore.

* At 12:35 a.m., "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" (1.5/5 in
metered-market households) beat CBS's "Late Late Show with Craig
Ferguson" (1.0/3 with an encore). In the 25 markets with Local People
Meters, "Late Night" (0.6/3 in 18-49) topped "Late Late Show" (0.3/2
with an encore).

* At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.8/3 in
metered-market households with an encore and a 0.3/2 in adults 18-49 in
the 25 markets with local people meters.

Rating: Estimated percentage of the universe of TV households (or other specified group) tuned to a program in the average minute. Ratings are expressed as a percent.  More information on ratings is available here.

Share (of Audience): The percent of households (or persons) using television who are tuned to a specific program, station or network in a specific area at a specific time. (See also, Rating, which represents tuning or viewing as a percent of the entire population being measured.)

Fast Affiliate Ratings: These first national ratings, including demographics, are available at approximately 11 AM (ET) the day after telecast, and are released to subscribing customers daily. These data, from the National People Meter sample, are strictly time-period information, based on the normal broadcast network feed, and include all programming on the affiliated stations, sometimes including network programming, sometimes not. The figures may include stations that did not air the entire network feed, as well as local news breaks or cutaways for local coverage or other programming. Fast Affiliate ratings are not as useful for live programs and are likely to differ significantly from the final results, because the data reflect normal broadcast feed patterns. For example, with a World Series game, Fast Affiliate Ratings would include whatever aired from 8-11PM on affiliates in the Pacific Time Zone, following the live football game, but not game coverage that begins at 5PM PT. The same would be true of Presidential debates as well as live award shows and breaking news reports.

Time Shifted Viewing – Program ratings for national sources are produced in three streams of data – Live, Live+Same Day (Live+SD) and Live+7 Day. Time shifted figures account for incremental viewing that takes place with DVRs. Live+Same Day (Live+SD) include viewing during the same broadcast day as the original telecast, with a cut-off of 3:00AM local time when meters transmit daily viewing to Nielsen for processing. Live+7 Day ratings include incremental viewing that takes place during the 7 days following a telecast.

    Likely, but not impossible.

    If Up All Night collapses against Two and a Half Men, Guys With Kids is DOA, and Save Me is DOA at midseason then renewing Community and Whitney will suddenly seem very attractive to NBC if their numbers hold up (especially since Sony would probably give NBC a very good deal on additional Community episodes).

    Why move Community? Leave it die in that slot. NBC Have been kind enough to that flop.

    Nikita’s reruns have not be the networks highest to date (thought its been high).

    I can’t wait for Whitney & Community to have good starts, and shut all the haters up.

    Its seems like everytime something good happens to NBC everyone always lessens it, is NBC allowed to have one sucess, or can people not accept that?

    community should not be moved from friday this fall…it’s had more than adequate time on thursdays to become a hit and hasn’t delivered the ratings. it’s time to see if something else can do better…jmo

    They gave Whitney and Community late starts for a reason. I expect Community to get moved to Wednesday when Guys With Kids gets cancelled and Whitney to move to Tuesday when New Normal gets cancelled. This could all happen before their current Friday October 19 premiere date.

    SPN doesn’t move to Wednesdays until the following week. And it will still be on Fridays for a few weeks, too. SPN ratings should be a bit…interesting…in early August, as the network tries to get as much of the audience switched over to the new time slot as possible.

    Arrow’s getting some good buzz and I think the network is anxious to build a powerhouse two hours on Wednesday to replace the fading ANTM. It just might succeed, too.

    What makes you think The New Normal will fail? I think it will do just fine. Whitney will probably do just fine on Fridays as well. There’s no need to move it.

    Anyway, Yay for Whitney. Community isn’t doing half bad either, considering The Office only gets 0.6 on Thursday. Communtiy and Whitney are the only two watchable comedies on NBC, and they deserve every viewer.

    This will be the first time I watch Community during the regular season week to week, (I just caught up on all 3 seasons a month ago) and it looks like I’ll be biting my nails awaiting a renewal all season.

    I think that is good that the CW will be moving Super Natural to Wednesdays early in a couple of weeks. I hope still runing it on Fridays for a few weeks and promoting the move to Wednesdays will help it and move the viewers to that new night. I really hope they do really good with the new Wednesday nights.
