Univision Ranks as the #2 Broadcast Network among Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34

 

Univision Broadcast Prime Highlights - Week of July 9, 2012 to July 15, 2012

 

 

  • Univision ranked as the #2 broadcast network among Adults 18-49 last week, out-delivering ABC (+8%), CBS (+20%), and NBC (+20%). This marks the fifth time in the last six weeks that Univision has ranked as the #3 network or higher among Adults 18-49.

 

  • Univision was the #2 network during primetime last week among Adults 18-34, out-delivering ABC (+51%), CBS (+102%), and NBC (+93%). For the ninth consecutive week, Univision has ranked as the #2 network or higher among A18-34.

 

  • During the summer months, Univision ranks as the #2 broadcast network among Adults 18-34 beating FOX (+2%), NBC (+31%), and CBS (+113%.)

 

  • July 2012 Sweeps to-date Univision maintains its #1 broadcast network ranking from the 2011 Sweeps among Adults 18-34 and rose to the #3 position (up from #4 a year ago) among Adults 18-49.

ü  Among Adults 18-34, Univision is currently outpacing its prior July sweeps performance-to-date by +1%, while ABC (-13%), CBS (-23%), FOX (-4%), and NBC (-8%) all post declines. 

ü  Univision’s performance among Adults 18-49 is virtually flat while the English-language broadcast networks (ABC, CBS, FOX, and NBC) are down -11% overall.

 

  • Univision out-delivered one or more of the English-language broadcast networks (ABC, CBS, NBC or FOX) on every night last week among Adults 18-49.  Univision also out-delivered two or more of the English-language broadcast networks on every night last week among Adults 18-34.

ü  Based on the current 2011/2012 season to date, Univision has out-performed NBC during broadcast prime 75% of the time (226 out of 301 days) among Adults 18-34 and 51% of the time (153 out of 301 days) among Adults 18-49.

ü  Additionally Univision has out-performed ABC on 89 nights, CBS on 82 nights, and FOX on 78 nights among Adults 18-49. Furthermore, among Adults 18-34, Univision has out-performed ABC on 184 nights, CBS on 214 nights, and FOX on 111 nights.

 

  • Univision kicked off the week as the #3 network among Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34, out-delivering CBS and NBC in both demographics. Univision’s entire primetime lineup also ranked among the top 10 programs Monday night among Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34.

 

  • On Tuesday night Univision maintained its #3 rank among Adults 18-49 and rose to the #1 position among Adults 18-34, out-delivering CBS for the second consecutive night this week. Univision’s entire primetime lineup ranked among the top 5 programs for both demographics.

 

  • On Wednesday night Univision rose to the #2 position among Adults 18-49 and finished the night as the #1 network among Adults 18-34. Univision out-delivered ABC, CBS, and NBC in both demographics and its primetime lineup ranked within the top 5 programs among Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34.

 

  • Thursday marked the second consecutive evening Univision ranked #2 among Adults 18-49 and #1 among Adults 18-34.  Univision’s entire primetime lineup ranked among the top 10 programs among Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34, helping Univision out deliver FOX, ABC and NBC.

 

  • On Friday night Univision ranked #1 among both Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-49.  Univision’s entire primetime lineup ranked among the top 3 programs for both demographics.

ü  Univision was the #1 network among Adults 18-34 for the third consecutive night this week.  Delivering 1.1 Million Adults 18-34, Univision posted a triple digit audience gains compared to FOX (+236%), CBS (+199%), and NBC (+182%) and nearly doubled the delivery of ABC (+98%).

ü  2 Million Adults 18-49 tuned into Univision on Friday night, +159% more Adults 18-49 viewers than FOX, +111% more than CBS, +58% more than NBC, and +25% ABC.

 

  • On Saturday night, airing “Sabado Gigante,” Univision ranked as the #3 network among Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34, out-delivering ABC and NBC in both demographics.  “Sabado Gigante” (Giant Saturday) averaged 1.7 Million Total Viewers 2+, 575,000 Adults 18-49, and 245,000 Adults 18-34. “Sabado Gigante” also ranked among the top 5 programs among Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34.

 

  • On Sunday night Univision ranked as the #2 network among Adults 18-34 and #4 among Adults 18-49, out-delivering NBC in both demographics.

ü  Airing “Pequeños Gigantes 2” at 8p.m., the talent competition delivered 3.4 Million Total Viewers 2+, 1.6 Million Adults 18-49, and 870,000 Adults 18-34. “Pequeños Gigantes 2” helped Univision rank as the #1 network for the week among Kids 2-11 and Teens 12-17.

 

  • At 8 p.m., Univision’s novela “Refugio Para El Amor” (A Shelter for Love) helped Univision to rank as the #2 network for the hour among Adults 18-34 and #3 among Adults 18-49.  The novela built its audience compared to the prior week and delivered 3.7 Million Total Viewers 2+ (+14%), 1.7 Million Adults 18-49 (+11%), and 988,000 Adults 18-34 (+15%).

 

  • Univision’s 9 p.m. novela “Abismo de Pasion” (Abyss of Passion) helped Univision to rank as the #1 network for the hour among Adults 18-34 and #3 among Adults 18-49.  Averaging its highest weekly performance since its 3/12/12 premiere, “Abismo de Pasion” averaged 4.3 Million Total Viewers 2+, 2.1 Million Adults 18-49, and 1.2 Million Adults 18-34. The novela also generated week-to-week audience growth across all key demographic groups including Total Viewers 2+ (+11%), Adults 18-49 (+8%) and Adults 18-34 (+13%).

 

  • During the 10 p.m. hour (based on M-F), Univision aired “La Que No Podia Amar” (The One Who Couldn’t Love).  Univision ranked as the #2 network among Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34.  The novela posted double digit gains versus the previous week, averaging 4.8 Million Total Viewers 2+ (+15%), 2.4 Million Adults 18-49 (+15%), and 1.3 Million Adults 18-34 (+17%).
