   The only show on ABC Family that is doing well is PLL. So, what show/shows do they get rid of? I think it’s going to come down to TLG, JBD, Bunheads. Secret Life’s ratings are far from great but people have to remember it’s the oldest show on the network at over 100 eps. Its ratings are almost even with TLG, JBD, Bunheads but those shows are in the 1st season, not 5th like Secret Life. I can’t see ABC Family canceling it after this season. I think the network gives them a final season with a 8-12 ep order. I really think it comes down to JBD and Bunheads.

   The problem with White Collar is the writing. If you read the comments boards where long time fans of the show post, you can see clearly that’s the problem, nothing to do with Matt. In fact, the reason most of the people still watching the show are still watching IS Matt.

   Comments questioning if people have dropped the show because he came out are both misleading and revolting. For the few bigots who might have dropped the show because of that reason, others will have joined as viewers (I know of more comments from people who’ve said they’ve done that than from people who’ve said they won’t watch anymore for such a ridiculous reason).

   And Magic Mike wasn’t “crap” – it was a Soderbergh movie that was made for $7 million and has already made more than $100 million worldwide. It’s been a big career boost for Matt. KarenM – you’re sounding dangerously troll-like with your Bomer/WC comments here.

   @karenM: Magic Mike is making Bomer a household name, shrewd carrer move especially followed directly with two leading roles in quality movies he films this fall. I know it’s tough for the haters, but not much negative you can say about Matt and make stick. Orientation was his biggest issue, he came out and at his talent and looks level, its proved a non issue. Only issue to ignorant homophobes that already knew his deal.

   @Ian I mean Kevin Somerhalder: LOL, zero chance of WC getting cancelled, contract through season 5 and 90% of cable scripted shows would love its 1.0M in key dems. Zero chance.

   USAs biggest concern should be why Covert Affairs can’t build on and actually loses the great lead in numbers WC provides.

   I just noticed every episode of R&I (7:00, 8:00, 9:00-the new episode and 11:00) made this list. As someone pointed out it did the same thing last week. TNT must like that.

   Yes, the cable reruns are gravy. I notice each rerun eppie of White Collar adds another 1-2M, great for cable bottom line.

    Last week i said Jane By Design would be cancelled, and this week…i’m not sure!, a demo rise and it did better then Bunheads this week….confused!

    I still call Jane By Design will get cancelled. PLL can only be a lead-in to one show and The Lying Game and Jane By Design both only do mediocre at best behind it. They already renewed The Lying Game so what does that leave… Bunheads may have dropped a little in demo but it is still pretty solid and sometimes even outperforming its lead in. The only way both could get renewed is if they put one on in March and with how poorly both shows are doing, there is no way either of them could survive a 6 month hiatus.

    ABC Family needs to find new hits ASAP instead of trying to make the flops happen.

    Bomer’s an average actor who’s great on WC and makes the show. I just don’t see him becoming a leading man down the line. Unfortunately, not many gay men can make it as leading men in Hollywood. I hope he does but I just don’t see that happening.

    As for Magic Mike, I never see him mentioned connected with the movie only Matt and Channing.

    Agree with everything. I’m baffled why someone thinks USA would end WC. If it were for the ratings Covert Affairs would be first in line. And even though total viewers aren’t that high (yet nothing worse than all the other shows) it’s skewing pretty young and Matt’s recent popularity boost doesn’t hurt it. Unless Matt decides he wants to move on to bigger and flashier projects the New York odd couple is here to stay.

    Any repeat of any new show always make the list for TNT/USA. This is nothing strange. Even repeats of the very underperforming The Mentalist make the list on other days.

    TNT shows generally do a 0.3-0.4 at 7 and 8 pm no matter the show. In the past they did so much better.Like the originals did. Check previous years.

    It can’t skew young, it skew old. Procedural never skew young. TNT 18-34 numbers are low in general, so it’s impossible.

    Even TNT’s head of programming admitted that before the beginning of the TNT summer season, citing other shows as their younger skewing shows.

    @ Babygate. Agreed with R&I and the Angie Harmon and Sasha Alexander chemistry. They are great together and love Sasha’s Dr. Isles and I am a new viewer this year. I fall into the 18-49 demo but I have alot of friends 17, 16 or so years of age that watch this show. I never thought about it that way. I just always looked at it like the viewers were all above the 49 year figure because I do beleive they do even better in TNT’s 25-54 demo. The 18-49 demo does seem pretty good for a scripted drama. I think it will be around for a while as well. TNT did renew it first out of all it’s shows. I beleive it was after the 4th episode aired and before a few of there other shows even started airing for the summer. Great show.

    I agree that WC seems to have hit a rut. This stuff on the Portuguese island was badly written, unbelievable. Very little snap. And they should stop believing their own press releases: Bomer is not Cary Grant. He’s a pretty, sweet, skinny guy and he can’t carry those Sean Connery sorta things. But I don’t know that WC has really leaked viewers. It never did have Suit or Burn Notice or Monk or Royal Pains kind of numbers.

    @Karen — I like Bomer a lot, of course, but I don’t think he “carries” the show, not at all. Personally, I really like the way DeKay does Peter and the nice vibe he gives. He’s a journeyman character actor that really got used well. The guy really does act well. Other women I know who watch the show seem to like him best, too. But then we’re a bunch of cougars. And if you stop and think about it, you might stop watching WC if Mozzie were killed off–even though he’s not much of an actor he’s, well he’s Mozzie !

    Yeah I love the chemistry between Rizzoli & Isles — and I really, really love the way Sasha Alexander re-invented herself after getting killed off on NCIS because she was such a bland character. I just love her on R&I. Maybe it’s the hair color But I often don’t watch the whole show because I’ve just gotten sooooo tired of procedurals. (And they’ve usually done the plot already on a Bones episode–there’s just so many talking-body plots out there.) Still, a real good show.
