The Primetime Emmy® Ceremony Will Be broadcast Live Coast to Coast,
Sunday, September 23, on ABC
ABC received 48 nominations for the 64th Primetime Emmy® Awards, covering the eligibility period of June 1, 2011 through May 31, 2012. The nominations were announced today by the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences from the Leonard H. Goldenson Theatre in the NoHo Arts District, California. Television Academy Chairman and CEO Bruce Rosenblum presided over the nominations along with Kerry Washington from the ABC drama “Scandal” and Jimmy Kimmel, host of ABC’s late night show “Jimmy Kimmel Live.”
Among ABC’s nominations were 14 for “Modern Family,” which received nods for Outstanding Comedy Series, Outstanding Supporting Actress for Julie Bowen and Sofia Vergara, and Outstanding Supporting Actor for Ed O'Neill, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Ty Burrell and Eric Stonestreet. “Dancing with the Stars” received two nominations, for Outstanding Reality – Competition Program and Tom Bergeron for Outstanding Host for a Reality or Reality-Competition Program. “Jimmy Kimmel Live” received a nod for Outstanding Variety Series, Ashley Judd received a nomination for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Miniseries or a Movie for “Missing,” and “Jamie Oliver’s Food Revolution” and “Shark Tank” were both nominated for Outstanding Reality Program.
Jimmy Kimmel, will host the 64th Primetime Emmy® Awards, broadcast live coast to coast, Sunday, September 23, 2012 exclusively on ABC. The festivities begin with “Emmy’s Red Carpet Live” from 7:00-8:00 p.m., ET/4:00-5:00 p.m., PT, immediately followed by the award ceremonies, live from 8:00-11:00 p.m., ET/5:00-8:00 p.m., PT. This will be Kimmel’s first time hosting the Primetime Emmy telecast. Renowned director/producer Don Mischer will serve as executive producer for a record 12th time.

Emmy Hoarders: Modern Family Buried Alive in Noms.
They should split the Comedy series supporting actor category into “Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy series” and “Best Supporting Actor in Modern Family”. Like that they get to nominate all 6 male actors in MF. You know they want to.
Doesn’t anyone “proof” their material for spelling errors anymore? It’s spelled “recEive”. And it was misspelled several times in this mailing! Sloppy work!
The middle has always been robbed. Eden Sher is amazing. And Patricia Heaton deserves a nomination too. But Eden Sher is under appreciated she is a 20 year old who plays the roll of a 14-15 year old insanely good! Maybe next year!
Yay for DWTS, EM:HE, Jamie Oliver’s Food Revolution, The Middle, Missing, MF, and OUAT for their noms. But seriously? Revenge, Castle, and BoP snubbed!!! Damn, they hate me.
And ABC responds by cancelling four of their six nominated dramas.
Revenge was definately robbed. I think voters may feel that its “soapish” and want the more edgier cable dramas to be recognize. I don’t care if it is not groundbreaking, if the show’s execution is great and the performances are entertaining than it should be considered. This is exactly why family comedies are also snubbed because they are viewed as not being groundbreaking therefore not of worth to be rewarded. I feel that is BS. If the show is great then give it the respect it deserves. Also actors/actresses who perform in families comedies should feel as if they have a shot at being recognized for their great work as well.
