CBS News’ FACE THE NATION WITH BOB SCHIEFFER was the #1 public affairs show on Sunday, July 15, placing first in both households and viewers. The CBS broadcast posted a 1.9/05 in households, 2.69m viewers and 0.6/03 in adults 25-54, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings. Editor’s Note: FACE THE NATION’s second half-hour was broadcast contiguously across 69% of the CBS affiliates.
FACE THE NATION is up +12% in households (from 1.7/05) and 13% in viewers (from 2.38m) compared to last year.
Television year-to-date, FACE THE NATION is up +11% in households (2.1/06 from 1.9/05) and +6% in viewers (2.90m from 2.74m) compared to last year. Television year-to-date, FACE THE NATION is first in adults 25-54 (0.7/03, tied with NBC).
On the broadcast, Bob Schieffer interviewed Stephanie Cutter, President Obama’s deputy campaign manager; Kevin Madden, senior adviser to the Romney campaign; and Rep. Paul Ryan (R-Wis.). Schieffer also hosted a panel on the economy with TIME magazine’s Rana Foroohar; Robert Reich, former Secretary of Labor under President Clinton; John Fund of The American Spectator and National Review; and Mark Zandi, chief economist at Moody’s Analytics. Schieffer also hosted a political roundtable with Washington Post columnist Michael Gerson; New York magazine’s Frank Rich; CBS News Chief White House Correspondent Norah O’Donnell; and CBS News Political Director John Dickerson.
