Definitions:

Fast Affiliate Ratings: These first national ratings, including demographics, are available at approximately 11 AM (ET) the day after telecast, and are released to subscribing customers daily. These data, from the National People Meter sample, are strictly time-period information, based on the normal broadcast network feed, and include all programming on the affiliated stations, sometimes including network programming, sometimes not. The figures may include stations that did not air the entire network feed, as well as local news breaks or cutaways for local coverage or other programming. Fast Affiliate ratings are not as useful for live programs and are likely to differ significantly from the final results, because the data reflect normal broadcast feed patterns. For example, with a World Series game, Fast Affiliate Ratings would include whatever aired from 8-11PM on affiliates in the Pacific Time Zone, following the live baseball game, but not game coverage that begins at 5PM PT. The same would be true of Presidential debates as well as live award shows and breaking news reports.

Rating: Estimated percentage of the universe of TV households (or other specified group) tuned to a program in the average minute. Ratings are expressed as a percent.

Share (of Audience): The percent of households (or persons) using television who are tuned to a specific program, station or network in a specific area at a specific time. (See also, Rating, which represents tuning or viewing as a percent of the entire population being measured.)

Time Shifted Viewing – Program ratings for national sources are produced in three streams of data – Live, Live+Same Day (Live+SD) and Live+7 Day. Time shifted figures account for incremental viewing that takes place with DVRs. Live+Same Day (Live+SD) include viewing during the same broadcast day as the original telecast, with a cut-off of 3:00AM local time when meters transmit daily viewing to Nielsen for processing. Live+7 Day ratings include incremental viewing that takes place during the 7 days following a telecast.

    Wow I’m shocked The Bachelorette pulled a 3 and beat last years finale airing on a different night.

    Teen Choice Awards pathetic as usual.

  • Jon23812

    I think the reason why the Teens Choice Awards don’t get a lot of views, is because the nominees are mostly shows or movies aimed towards females, or singers/songs popular with females. The people who are in charge of the nominations should make the nominees appeal to both males and females equally, instead of mostly females.

  • Survivor Fan

    Bad for BB, especially with the Willie Hantz drama.

  • Survivor Fan

    up 14% from a 2.8 for last year’s post-mortem on August 1, 2011.

    What does that mean? What does after-death have to do with a TV show’s ratings? They had not canceled it?

  • frodo

    ABC dominates CBS as it should be always.

  • disney rocks

    I think ABC should consider moving The Bachlorette to always air Sundays next summer.

  • Ricky

    @Survivor Fan: I know, right? Now I hope CBS learns their lesson and disavows any and all connections with those Hantzes.

  • A.C.

    CBS deserves the bad ratings for trotting out this stinking MENTOR’s TWIST…it’s horrible.

    BRITTANY is a suppposed “Epic” player and brought back and she spends the whole episode orchestrating her entire team to turn on one of it’s members?
    It’s no wonder Willie flipped out when his own coach has turned against him instead of taking him under her wing and trying to work with him. It’s mainly Brittany’s fault he got ejected due to her nasty attitude and actively ostrasizing the man.

    I’m sick of Boogie and I’m sick of Dan throwing challenges when he has only one team member left. What a moron. Let’s get back to indidviual game playing!

  • Brody

    @A.C. – AMEN!!

  • Ricky

    @A.C. But you’re not sick of Janelle? What’s wrong with you?

    Although, Boogie truly is the worst. :( Yes, Dan needs to stop throwing challenges. And Britney isn’t really an “epic” player – although I personally consider her the smarter, spicier version of Jordan Lloyd. If I remember correctly, Hayden Moss was on the short list of potential mentors. Wish they’d brought him back instead, he was a better player.

  • Really

    the teen choice award suck…because of the nominees and looks who’s hosting….hahaha

  • Sha

    Hey the Olympics can’t get here fast enough!

  • Really

    another thing is…..everyone who deserved to win didn’t and who didn’t did.

  • DTV

    I was surprised that the ratings for BB14 were not higher. It got crazy towards the end. Willie head-butted an contestant and cursed out the whole house. I did think it was funny during the coaches challenge when Boogie thought he had won and like an idiot he jumps off the plank and is out of the game. I never understood why Britney was crying during the fight when she was the one kicking Willie to the curb.

    @A.C

    This is making “The Glass House” look better and better.

  • K

    @Ricky

    Willie was one of the reasons to watch this season. Now that he is gone, all that is left are Brittany, Janelle. Boogie and Dan, all who appear to be “going through the motions” and really seem not to be interested in playing this time around, and the utterly forgettable, and dull to watch new players. Ian “dating” whoever that woman was, was utterly dull and lifeless.

  • Colin

    The Glass House is ALOT better than BB

  • taylor

    BB sucks this year. Not surprised ratings are down.

  • Mark Wilkins

    A very dull Sunday night, nothing but repeats and garbage.

  • Nathan (NR2012)

    It’s sad how the kids choice awards, and the BET awards can pull much more viewers, and they don’t even need half of these good celebs to pull in good viewer #’s. Hence the fact that the kids choice, and the BET awards are on cable networks. Fox should just cancel the TCA’S.
