True Blood was Sunday's number one cable program with a 2.6 adults 18-49 rating, down a tenth from last week's 2.7. Keeping Up With the Kardashians came in second, with a 1.4 adults 18-49 rating, down a tenth from last week's 1.5.
We only receive the top 100 cable shows for adults 25-54 for the whole day from our principal source. If you don’t see an original episode of a show here, it’s because it wasn’t in the top 100.
The list below is long but you can use your browsers "find on page" feature (usually CTRL+F or CMD+F) to search - that's probably the easiest way to find Political Animals.

I am happy that Newsroom continues to be steady. The critics tried to crush it, but most of the viewers have stuck with the show.
@Nick — my bad. My eye kept picking up the show above it.
Army WIves seems to be falling in the ratings while Longmire continues to grow. Sunday night cable seems very competitive this summer
You guys need to know one thing about “Political Animals”. It wasn’t done for the ratings, hence “the limited series event” thing. It was done for critical acclaim and awards. USA wants some prestige. That’s why they got Weaver, Burstyn, Hinds and others to do the show. They already have shows with ratings. That’s why I’m expecting another six episode season next summer.
@SarahL
It’s actually doing quite well, which I’m happy about, as I really like the show. Does it have room for improvement? Absolutely. But since a second season has already been ordered, and it seems the majority of the contributing writers (sans Sorkin, obviously) have been let go, I have high hopes that the show will go from “really good” to “great” next season (if it doesn’t do so before these ten episodes wrap up). As for the critics (professional critics, that is) – I didn’t much expect them to like the show, as it has more of an old-school approach to its writing than many contemporary serial drama programs. That, and they don’t like being told that what they do often can (and should) be done better. Their constant comparisons with previous Sorkin shows also accomplishes nothing in the scheme of critiquing this particular show.
Also excited for Boardwalk Empire, Treme, and Enlightened to come back for the fall line-up. Hopefully Boardwalk & Treme can see a gain from their second season numbers, as they’re both two of the best shows currently on television.
Does anyone have info on Small Town Security for this week? I’m curious to see how many viewers it lost compared to it’s first show, and am hoping it goes away quickly. It’s a complete anomaly compared to the usual quality of AMC originals. I don’t know why they thought it was a good idea. The only reason I can think of is that it must be very inexpensive to produce, compared to their other original programming, and may have been low risk on their part.
I’ve actually stopped watching Newsroom. I’m not sure why Aaron Sorkin has to treat his female leads as floor mats, but he does. I mean its the same story with Studio 60, where he treated his female leads poorly.
It seems Will can do no wrong and the female leads, Mackenzie and Maggie keep screwing up episode after episode and have to be bailed out by the male leads of the show. Like the s-mail screw up, how can someone with Mac’s backround screw up that badly in e-mailing the whole company with her infidelity or Maggie’s screwup in trying to get that story and we finding out that she couldn’t come clean about her history with the contact. Normally a person would be fired for that gaffe, but the male leads cover it up and cover for her mistakes.
Seriously that kind of sexism is so passe, its not something that intrests me, nor do I find it watchable.
Still it does some things well, when a story breaks, its gripping to watch it unfold and you latch on to it, but that is what 10 minutes of the 50 minute show? And the rest is simply garbage for me.
3 Lead metals for Political Animals.
There is probably not a poorer: directed, written and acted show than Political Animals-all 3 in one show. Only redeeming value is Bud-
