Univision Ranks as the #1 Broadcast Network among Adults 18-34

For 5th Consecutive Year, “Premios Juventud” Ranks #1 for the Night Among Adults 18-34

Univision Broadcast Prime Highlights - Week of July 16, 2012 to July 22 2012

 

  • · Univision was the #1 network during primetime last week among Adults 18-34, out-delivering ABC (+35%), CBS (+112%), and NBC (+84%). For the 10th consecutive week, Univision has ranked as the #2 network or higher among A18-34.

 

  • · Univision ranked as the #3 broadcast network among Adults 18-49 last week, out-delivering CBS (+22%) and NBC (+23%). This marks the sixth time in the last seven weeks that Univision has ranked as the #3 network or higher among Adults 18-49.

 

  • · During the summer months, Univision ranks as the #1 broadcast network among Adults 18-34 beating FOX (+4%), NBC (+36%), and CBS (+113%.)

 

  • · July 2012 Sweeps to-date Univision ranks #1 among Adults 18-34 and #2 (up from #4 a year ago) among Adults 18-49.

ü Among Adults 18-34, Univision is currently outpacing its prior July sweeps performance-to-date by +2%, while ABC (-6%), CBS (-23%), FOX (-6%), and NBC (-10%) all post declines.

ü Univision’s performance among Adults 18-49 is virtually flat while the English-language broadcast networks (ABC, CBS, FOX, and NBC) are down -11% overall.

 

  • · Univision out-delivered one or more of the English-language broadcast networks (ABC, CBS, NBC or FOX) on every night last week among Adults 18-49. Univision also out-delivered two or more of the English-language broadcast networks on every night last week among Adults 18-34.

ü Based on the current 2011/2012 season to date, Univision has out-performed NBC during broadcast prime 75% of the time (232 out of 308 days) among Adults 18-34 and 53% of the time (163 out of 308 days) among Adults 18-49.

ü Additionally Univision has out-performed ABC on 99 nights, CBS on 87 nights, and FOX on 83 nights among Adults 18-49. Furthermore, among Adults 18-34, Univision has out-performed ABC on 190 nights, CBS on 221 nights, and FOX on 115 nights.

 

  • · Univision kicked off the week as the #2 network among Adults 18-34 and #3 among Adults 18-49, out-delivering CBS and NBC in both demographics. Univision’s entire primetime lineup also ranked among the top 10 programs Monday night among Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34. Contributing to Univision’s success was the premiere of 8P novela “Por Ella Soy Eva,” (For Her, I’m Eva) which features Jaime Camil as a lothario who attempts to win back his love, portrayed by superstar Lucero, by posing as a woman. “Por Ella Soy Eva” averaged 3.7 Million Total Viewers 2+, 1.9 Million Adults 18-49, and 1.1 Million Adults 18-34 and ranked among the top 10 programs of the evening for both Adult demographics.

 

  • · On Tuesday night Univision maintained its #2 rank among Adults 18-34 and #3 among Adults 18-49, out-delivering CBS for the second consecutive night this week. Univision’s entire primetime lineup ranked among the top 10 programs for both demographics.

 

  • · On Wednesday night Univision rose to the #2 position among Adults 18-49 and finished the night as the #1 network among Adults 18-34. Univision out-delivered ABC, CBS, and NBC in both demographics and its primetime lineup ranked within the top 10 programs among Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34.

 

  • · On Thursday night, due to the network’s award show “Premios Juventud,” Univision ranked #2 among Adults 18-49 and #1 among Adults 18-34.

ü Delivered reach of 9.3 Million Total Viewers 2+.

ü Averaged 4.1 million Total Viewers 2+, 1.2 million Adults 18-34 and 2.1 million Adults 18-49.

ü For the fifth consecutive year, Univision won the entire night among Adults 18-34.

ü Attracted more Hispanic viewers in the demographic groups of Total Viewers 2+, Adults 18-49, and Adults 18-34 than the combined audiences of the latest editions of the “American Music Awards,” “Billboard Music Awards” and “Golden Globe Awards.”

 

  • · On Friday night Univision ranked #1 among both Adults 18-34 and Adults 18-49. Univision’s entire primetime lineup ranked among the top 5 programs for both demographics.

ü Univision was the #1 network among Adults 18-34 for the third consecutive night this week. Delivering 1.0 Million Adults 18-34, Univision posted triple digit audience gains compared to CBS (+257%), FOX (+232%), NBC (+162%), and ABC (+113%).

ü 1.9 Million Adults 18-49 tuned into Univision on Friday night, +173% more Adults 18-49 viewers than FOX, +94% more than CBS, +59% more than NBC, and +26% ABC.

 

  • · On Saturday night, airing “Sabado Gigante,” Univision ranked as the #2 network among Adults 18-34 and #3 among Adults 18-49, out-delivering ABC in both demographics. “Sabado Gigante” (Giant Saturday) averaged 1.8 Million Total Viewers 2+, 775,000 Adults 18-49, and 357,000 Adults 18-34. Compared to the previous week, “Sabado Gigante” increased its viewership +46% Adults 18-34 and +35% Adults 18-49. “Sabado Gigante” also ranked among the top 5 programs among both demographics.

 

  • · On Sunday night Univision ranked as the #2 network among Adults 18-34 and #3 among Adults 18-49, out-delivering NBC and FOX in both demographics.

ü Airing “Pequeños Gigantes 2” at 8p.m., the talent competition delivered 3.4 Million Total Viewers 2+, 1.6 Million Adults 18-49, and 925,000 Adults 18-34. “Pequeños Gigantes 2” helped Univision rank as the #1 network for the week among Kids 2-11 and Teens 12-17.

 

  • · At 8:00 p.m., Univision’s new novela “Por Ella Soy Eva,” (For Her, I’m Eva) helped Univision to rank as the #1 network for the hour (M-F) among Adults 18-34 and Adults 18-49. In its debut week, “Por Ella” delivered 3.4 Million Total Viewers 2+, 1.8 Million Adults 18-49, and 1.1 Million Adults 18-34.

 

  • · Univision’s 9:00 p.m. novela “Abismo de Pasion” (Abyss of Passion) helped Univision to rank as the #1 network for the hour (M-F) among Adults 18-34 and Adults 18-49. Averaging its highest weekly performance since its 3/12/12 premiere ,“Abismo de Pasion” delivered 4.5 Million Total Viewers 2+, 2.2 Million Adults 18-49, and 1.2 Million Adults 18-34.

 

  • · Univision’s 10:00 p.m. novela “La Que No Podia Amar” (The One Who Couldn’t Love) helped Univision to rank as the #1 network for the hour (M-F) among Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34. Compared to the prior week, the novela delivered significant increases among Total Viewers 2+ (+18%; 4,914,000 vs. 4,157,000), Adults 18-49 (+16%; 2,415,000 vs. 2,087,000) and Adults 18-34 (+16%; 1,296,000 vs. 1,119,000).

    I know I’m not ready these posts all the way through but it seems that EVERY station is number 1 in viewers, etc. Sorry — everyone can’t be number 1. I could have sworn one early today claimed that USA was No.l. WTF??

    They’re in different categories. Broadcast or cable, viewers or demo ratings.

    Univision ranked as the #1 network for the 18-34 demographics…. The second most popular demo group after 18-49….total viewers is insignificant to advertisers.
