I hate playing the ratings game because it usually comes to down to hoping another show is axed over the one that is personally preferred.
JBD has had ABC Family’s best lead-ins since it premiered, done rather poorly with them, and *still* landed an additional episode order.
Bunheads has done steady and even improved upon with the sinking ship that is Secret Life.
I’d ideally like to see both shows receive additional episodes for their casts and crew alone, but Jane has already been given the most it *technically* deserves.
@Amy
Thanks!!
White Collar was OK but not great. Rizzoli and Isles was OK, but not great. Pretty Little Liars was OK, but not great.
Covert Affairs on the other hand was very good. I suspected adding Sarah Clarke and playing up the conflict between Lena and Joan would be a good move, and each episode seems to confirm that.
The whole “Auggie gets married” bit isn’t going to last, I’m certain. His girl friend will either dump him due to his CIA job, or she’ll end up getting taken out by some villain. That will clear the way for the Auggie-Annie (or Annie-Auggie – the A’s alliterate!
hookup to take place. You know you want that!
@ Richard I have to respectfully disagree with you. I thought R&I was great. The frienship of Jane and Maura was in the forefront and the other characters had good contributions. I liked the episode.
@richard
Agree with zk, R&I is great, covert affairs is annoying
How are O’Rielly and Hannity listed next to last and last by percent but have viewers in the top 10.
WC has stiff competition from R&I. It’s affecting the 18-49 numbers for WC.
Oh, well, I wish USA would move it to 10 instead. It’s been really good this season so far.
@Karen it thought the first two episode of WC this season were just okay. They were all to contrived in writing just to get Neal back to NY. However, this last episode was great. Everything I love about White Collar. That slick fun writing for Neal. Peter always trying to do the right thing. Then the added dash of mystery with learning that Neal grew up in Witness protection (which i had already though).
@Nick
Do u have numbers for Total Drama Revenge of the island (7:30pm on Cartoon Network) (: Thanks.
Wow I’m so happy for hollywood heights.!!!!
I hope it reaches over a million soon..(: I really love that show.!! I wish they could promote it better..
@ Karen R&I is very hard on the competition. R&I is a very good show.
People (not saying anyone here. I read this in several media outlets) were saying that R&I would not be good without the Closer as it’s lead in but it is nice that it is proving that to be wrong.
PLL FAN,
You make me laugh. By your name, we understand where your loyalty lies… but for some reason it seems you have it out for JBD. The show has a sure following and a 1.3 avg for the back half of the season. These numbers are truly fine by ABC FAM standards. (CW would love to be getting these numbers on a regular basis.) JBD has a good cast. It’s the kind of show ABC FAM wants to have on their network. I can’t comment on the quality of PLL because frankly I can’t bring myself to watch it, that being said my gut is that JBD will return with more episodes (how many, I am not so sure) and that Bunheads most likely will too, but there are a lot of politics involved in that one. Politics that are not in its favor. Not to mention, “from what I hear” it comes in way over budget and not enough to justify its slightly better ratings then JBD (who comes in under budget every week). Anyway, I bet they both return and frankly I think they should… there will still be room in the upcoming schedule for ABC FAM to premier new shows, too. From what I hear any future ratings on both shows are a non issue because they will all be up against the Olympics. So it was a good week for both Bunheads and JBD.
But trying to understand why all of your posts spin back to your dislike for JBD… it sounds oddly personal.
I’ll say quite frankly that I hope this finally consigns Franklin & Bash to thee trash bin where it belongs. Sorry, but I really hate it.
R&I finally picking up. Great White Collar Tuesday night.
@Steve — I’m with ya about the first 2 eps of WC this season. Very dull and contrived and badly written. Probably bored the hell outta people tuning in. But the Peter-in-the-evidence-locker episode was really fun.
I notice Jon Stewart is back up (& I’m not sure this wasn’t a rerun?) and so is Colbert. Stronger than ever. They really suffered from the DirectTV fight.
Hollywood Heights hit a series high of 0.2 18-49 and 812,000 total viewers at 9pm. Dat Franco. Monday it was at I *think* 699K and 0.1 18-49.
