   how can futurama ratings be exact from last week when they just added 20 million subscribers from directv… everything on comedy central had gone up since that happened… fututrama stays the same?… mathematically just doesn’t seem possible no one from the 20 million tuned in

   RottleGirl: If this is your first time here, check the Help link at the top and read Numbers 101 and Numbers 102 which explains all. Number of viewers is not relevant, and the 18-40 demographic is what counts.

   @toons, well July 4th episodes, with DirecTV, had less viewers than July 11th and 18th episodes, without DirecTV. So I guess the Nielsen households who have DirecTV don’t watch Futurama.

   I’m worried about Dallas. I think the old fans are not satisfied with this new version. And the young audience doesn’t like it too. They tried to conquer both audiences but I think it’s not working.

   The fight between the Ewing brothers doesn’t make sense for me. Bobby doesn’t care about the oil of SouthFork and JR wants to sell it. So, if Bobby only cares about avoid fights in the family, why he doesn’t just let JR do what he wants? That will avoid fights.

   OK, maybe I’m the only one who don’t get it. But the young cast is another big problem. Except for the gorgeous Jordana Brewster, the new actors are not convincing.

    @jon… yes it dropped to a .5 on the 4th but that was 4th of july… everything dropped… before that it was .8… just seems like an odd thing to have happen especially when all the other shows went back on cmd after the addition of directv… i know these numbers are not factual but still doesn’t make much sense 20 million people are added and no one returns to futurama… but they do return for daily show and clobert and tosh and workaholics etc… it is what it is but just not very logical to me

    Wow I watch Dallas and like it but that is bad. It is going in the wrong direction. It is at Franklin & Bash numbers and everyone is wondering if F&B will even get renewed. I know TNT gave Dallas a load of advertising and already renewed it but is there a chance they could change their mind and take the renewal back? Just concerned. I am sure other shows on TNT get better then .7 demo.

    Happy to see Hollywood Exes up…its a hidden gem on VH1s schedule.

They explain this extremely clearly.

    Anyway, I’m really disappointed in Dallas’ ratings. They started out good, and the reviews are good, what exactly is the problem? There’s no chance TNT goes back on their Season 2 order is there?

    Wow, Dallas is fizzling out real quick. TNT may regret giving it a second season. But I can see why people are not tuning in. It’s lost its edge. JR is the most fun character to watch and he’s been largely MIA. The entire plot seems to be mostly on the shoulders of the younger Ewings which really doesn’t say much. They are really not great. And they can’t seem to decide which cousin is going to keep the girl at the end. I’m watching in the absence of anything better but I’m not excited about it at all.
    Now, Necessary Roughness is doing really poorly as well. This is a really good show. The formula is completely different than the usual procedural or soap. I truly hope there’s a third season.

    Unfortunately, this was unavoidable the last few weeks because during that part of the filming Larry Hagman was being treated with cancer. This should apparently being changing from here on out.

    Agree with everyone saying Dallas is not doing well. I am sure TNT expected better then that demo. They advertised it like crazy. If shows skew older as time goes on it really is already there at year 1. TNTs older shows are doing better then that or the same. The less hyped Perception which is not my cup of tea is doing better. Not good Dallas and I did like it in the begining but I am starting to not like it as much. I think it needs JR all the time but that will probably not happen. Maybe people where right when they said soaps of this sort are a thing of the past. I guess we shall see. Don’t know if TNT can take back a renewal but they not only already renewed it they added 5 more episodes for next year. I think they renewed too quickly it’s not like it was staying steady in the demo like last years Falling Skies or the year before that with Rizzoli and Isles.

    Yah for Baby Daddy, Melissa And Joey and The Exes rebounding a bit.
    Boo for Dallas dropping, is it really to do with Larry Hagman not being around, i don’t get why people keep tuning out, it is sooo good, imo.

    Also, no way is Season 2 renewal going to be taken back, with such a recognisable name it is already pre-sold in a lot of countries so they are making money, and wouldn’t be surprised if it ran for a few seasons even with these numbers cos of that.

    @ Martin. If Dallas keeps this type of drop in the demo I do not know that even being sold in other coutries will help because it started out at a 1.5 and is now at a. .7 I like Dallas but if it keeps losing the demo like that I can not see it being on a few years.
