Can’t we all just get along?
@@ RATBOY
I know that you are a democrat. You get yor kicks by playing the devils advocate. I can buy that. The difference is that I can tell when you are serious and when you are not. Good Job. Continue to keep the republican bloggers off guard.
Attacking Romney is the only way for the lib. media and the empty suit in the White House to keep raw power. Hope and change, yeah, right.
Apparently ‘Politics Nation’ didn’t retain any viewers from MSNBC’s Olympics coverage.

“Nope, you were asked to prove your assertion that Obama said “private enterprise” should have to pay more. That is not what he said. He did not target taxes toward “private enterprise” as you would like to spin.”
I diagree,,President Obama followed his usual comments “and what we then do is ask for the wealthy to pay a little bit more’ with a direct message for successful busuiness owners,,”. There was a great teacher somewhere in your life. Somebody helped to create this unbelievable American system that we have that allowed you to thrive. Somebody invested in roads and bridges. If you’ve got a business — you didn’t build that. Somebody else made that happen.”..The content of the Roanoke speech is not orginal,,there’s a direct nexus to Elizaberh Warren and her speech last year where she stated “There’s nobody in this country that got rich on his own,,you built a factory ,,good for you,,you moved your goods to the maket on roads the rest of us paid for,,you hired workers the rest of us paid to educate,,you were safe in you factory because of police forces and fire forces that the rest of us paid for,,you didn’t have to worry that marauding bands would come and seize everything in your factory”,,then she goes on to say these businesses need to pay their fair share…The Roanoke speech was another call for taxing the rich,,while diminishing the intellegence and hard work it took to acheive that success and directly referencing and targeting business..
“Due to many of the tax cuts, most small businesses (making less than 10 mill) won’t be effected by the sunsetting of the Bush tax cuts.”
Where did you get that idea?
“Using a more reasonable definition of small business — for instance, having income and deductions of less than $10 million — a recent Treasury analysis found that only 2.5 percent of small-business owners would face higher taxes from the expiration of the Bush tax cuts. Of those who would be affected, most are unlikely to reduce hiring or investment because of ample deductions for business expenses.”
Since you were previously touting Pres Obama’s tax cuts for small business,,I asked if you could post some evidence that these tax incentives are having any positive results and the best you could come up with is an NYT editorial with a header “SMALL BUSINESSES ARE SPARED” I really found the rest of the paragraph very informative,,where they finagle a new definition of small businesses to minimize the negative effects of Pres Obama’s tax hikes,,eliminating from the definition those pesky partnerships like lawyer,,accoumtants,,doctors,,yikes even Subchapter S Corps,,then greatly reducing financial thresholds for the small business classification…No wonder they can claim only 2.5% of small businesses would be affected by Pres Obama’s tax hikes..
“So all those business people making less than 10 million dollars are not successful?”
Not sure why your using the $10 mil figure,,this isn’t the cutoff for the tax hikes,,it’s the threshold for defining small business in your link,,Pres Obama still hopes to tax all families earning more than $250k,,so that’s still my threshold for being wealthy as defined by the White House….
“No, and he didn’t implicitly mean that either when he stated we all have benefited and contributed in some way to this incredible American system. Now that the system is falling apart after the market crash, either we swim together or sink together. We’re all in this thing together. Time to step up to the plate.”
He specifally targeted success and business in this Roanoke speech,,we may all be swimming together,,but the president is asking some to go swim the Chicago River,,while telling others to come take a dip in the big government pool,,where the water is nice and warm..

Hey, Laurence you were right. Tingles did get nearly a million viewers for one showing of that God awful Tingleball on MSNBC. Very good, Laurence don’t get a big head now.
Attacking Romney is the only way for the lib. media and the empty suit in the White House to keep raw power. Hope and change, yeah, right.
Negative ads is the epitome of any politicians campaign.
“Racism” I am dyslexsic or as my dad would say, “you’re a dumbell, you know what a dumbell is, do you know what a dumbell is, it’s a real idiot that’s what a dumbell is.”

That is not what President Obama said in 2008.
Prsident Obama, 2008, ran a positive campaign on “Hope and Change.”
Spending the night in Mattoon ,Illinois. Lots & lots of drought along the way. The corn crop is done for.

Obama DEA Uses Company’s Truck & Driver Without Permission to Haul Pot in Drug Sting – 1 Dead
The Drug Enforcement Administration used a truck company’s driver and truck without permission to haul pot in a drug sting. The owner didn’t find out about it until his driver was shot dead in a botched operation.
The phone rang before sunrise. It woke Craig Patty, owner of a tiny North Texas trucking company, to vexing news about Truck 793 – a big red semi supposedly getting repairs in Houston.
“Your driver was shot in your truck,” said the caller, a business colleague. “Your truck was loaded with marijuana. He was shot eight times while sitting in the cab. Do you know anything about your driver hauling marijuana?”
“What did you say?” Patty recalled asking. “Could you please repeat that?”
The truck, it turned out, had been everywhere but in the repair shop.
Commandeered by one of his drivers, who was secretly working with federal agents, the truck had been hauling marijuana from the border as part of an undercover operation. And without Patty’s knowledge, the Drug Enforcement Administration was paying his driver, Lawrence Chapa, to use the truck to bust traffickers.
At least 17 hours before that early morning phone call, Chapa was shot dead in front of more than a dozen law enforcement officers – all of them taken by surprise by hijackers trying to steal the red Kenworth T600 truck and its load of pot.

Yawn… long day.
I don’t mean to get snarky and a little nasty with the Prez but he just so shallow. He runs this negative destroy Romney campaign after holding his arrogant head up high in 2008 proclaiming I am running a positive campaign based on hope and change. What a hypocrite.
He still has all sycophant followers who ignore his hypocrisy. It is nauseating.
Yeah, remember when Gingrich said the same thing? Then he started his negative ads and said “they aren’t negative, they are the truth”. They all know negative ads usually HELP them, Obama said he wouldn’t use negative ads just like everyone else, but then uses them. Like I said, they are all hypocrites. ALL.

No question, but don’t come out and talk about a new kind of politics. I remember a weepy college girl telling me he’s different he believes what he says. I would be willing to bet that girl will be voting for the President this time around. I think I am less dismayed by the President and more outraged by his sycophantic supporters. I kind of always knew he was full of s#it.
I think MSNBC should cancel Politics Nation and start with Hardball immediately after the Olympics coverage if they want to keep some of those viewers.
I’m still boycotting the Olympics due to the worst coverage ever from NBC. The rest of the world watch the events as they happen except us because we’re under the mercy of a greedy corporation that only cares about ratings not quality.
Tea party candidate wins senate primary runoff in Texas!

We’re Cruzzzzzin in Texas.
Sam are you really boycotting the Olympics? I saw those gymnasts tonight and they are amazing. Hey it is good to hear from you I enjoyed our debate. The Godfather 2 is on. My people!

Tingleball after the Olympics? They could make that an Olympic sport.

PaulG,
“I really found the rest of the paragraph very informative,,where they finagle a new definition of small businesses to minimize the negative effects of Pres Obama’s tax hikes,,eliminating from the definition those pesky partnerships like lawyer,,accoumtants,,doctors,,yikes even Subchapter S Corps”
Nope, look at the methodology. They did include partnerships (passive too like lawyers, accountants etc…) and Subchapter S Corps. http://www.treasury.gov/resource-center/tax-policy/tax-analysis/Documents/OTA-T2011-04-Small-Business-Methodology-Aug-8-2011.pdf
“then greatly reducing financial thresholds for the small business classification”
Yep, having income and deductions of less than $10 million. Anything over that income I wouldn’t count as so “small” either.
“Not sure why your using the $10 mil figure,,this isn’t the cutoff for the tax hikes,,it’s the threshold for defining small business in your link”
And it is the information used to account for only 2.5% of businesses being effected by the sunset (not counting that 10million and over income.)
“Pres Obama still hopes to tax all families earning more than $250k,,so that’s still my threshold for being wealthy as defined by the White House”
Yes, the sunset will mostly effect those people who do not get to claim business deductions and/or business tax cuts. These are people (who by definition) are not business owners and yes they will be the ones who will mostly be effected in the over $250K threshold. So, it is untrue that small business will be the ones paying more in taxes with the sunset of the Bush tax cuts. Now those businesses making over $10 million will also be paying more when the sunset goes into effect.
