Reverend Al’s Laugh Line: My Work Against Voter ID Laws Is ‘Non-Partisan’
An MSNBC host and the Chair of the Democratic National Committee walk into a bar . . . Al Sharpton, uttering one of the more absurd laugh lines of this political season, actually claimed on his MSNBC show this evening that his campaign in Florida against voter ID laws is “non-partisan.”
Debbie Wasserman-Schultz apparently hadn’t gotten the memo about pretending Sharpton was non-partisan. The Chair of the DNC, also a Dem Florida congresswoman, after delivering a super-partisan diatribe on the issue, giddily thanked Sharpton for his work–before the Reverend hastened to remind viewers that his campaign was “non-partisan.” You’re killing us, Al! MSNBC does a promo where a news anchor talks about inequality of wealth and beginning a dialogue on this subject,OK let me begin by asking those on MSNBC this question:Are you as concerned that your pay maybe many times more than what your cameraman,sound man,those who work at your studio,those who work in the control room?I bet MSNBC hosts are not concerned about sharing the wealth,that dialogue will never start.

Ditto Hoppy. Agree–we can do without the cursing and name calling. That is what I like about this site–most are respectful even when they don’t agree. I see cursing and name calling and I move on to the next post. I love thoughtful comments and those that have facts to back them up–not just throwing out insults and unproven propaganda. I like the cut and paste information as I don’t have time to read all sites and often miss some of the information. BTW, Tony makes me laugh with his comparing morning tv ratings to prime time. I am not sure if he is serious or being funny. Anyway, as my husband says, I laugh so hard tears run down my leg.
BTW looks like Cruz won by more than 10 points. Can you tell I am one happy camper today. I feel as if there is some hope.

Black pastors group launches anti-Obama campaign around gay marriage
Washington (CNN) – A group of conservative black pastors are responding to President Barack Obama’s support of same-sex marriage with what they say will be a national campaign aimed at rallying black Americans to rethink their overwhelming support of the President, though the group’s leader is offering few specifics about the effort.
The Rev. Williams Owens, who is president and founder of the Coalition of African-Americans Pastors and the leader of the campaign, has highlighted opposition to same-sex marriage among African-Americans. He calls this campaign “an effort to save the family.”

2012 Chevrolet Volt Becomes Centerpiece of Smart Community
AUSTIN, Texas — Maybe it should be renamed “Chevrolet Volt-ville.” The largest concentration of Chevrolet Volts in the country will play a key role in helping Texas residents in a 700-acre planned community as they test the impact of “smart homes” and other green technology, like electronic vehicles.
GM calls it the greatest concentration of Chevrolet Volts in the world.
“This partnership provides us with a unique opportunity to observe charging details with many real customers in a concentrated setting,” said Nick Pudar, an OnStar vice president, in a statement.
OnStar and General Motors have become official partners of Pecan Street Inc., the country’s first nonprofit research and development consortia, where residents agreed to be part of a clean-energy smart grid test for sustainable living. The Mueller community, 3 miles outside Austin, provides a real-life lab for the automaker to observe charging patterns and how consumers and clean-energy technologies interact and support electric-vehicle charging. The project runs for five years.
While Chevrolet made 100 Volts available, only 55 of the community residents took advantage of the various tax credits, including a $7,500 federal tax credit and a $7,500 rebate from Pecan Street on their Volt purchases. Those leasing a Volt for three or more years received a $3,000 rebate.
“We’re gathering information from families’ vehicles throughout this community to find out the direct impact the Volt has on the grid and how to get drivers the lowest possible charging rates,” said Pudar. “This project will also help us develop future capabilities of the Volt and other plug-in electric vehicles.”
Pecan Street is funded by a $10.4 million grant from the Energy Department and more than $14 million in matching funds from project partners. Although Pecan Street oversees the consortia, it also includes researchers from the University of Texas, the National Renewable Energy Laboratory and the Environmental Defense Fund. It’s housed in the University of Texas at Austin.
These departments know that no one is watching them from the administration because Obama has had them out campainging for him for the last 3 years!!
$30 Million In Unreported GSA Bonuses Uncovered By WUSA9 Investigation, Rep John Mica Plans Congressional Investigation
WASHINGTON, D.C. (WUSA) — The U.S. Government won’t explain, but a 9 News Now investigation has found $30 million in unreported bonuses for fiscal year 2011 – making the already troubled General Services Administration’s total bonus pool nearly $44 million.
“Just outrageous,” said U.S. Rep John Mica, Chairman of the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee. “All put on the taxpayers tab. There are very serious problems for GSA. ”
GSA does not respond to interview requests
GSA officials did not respond to interview requests, but issued a statement saying Acting Administrator Dan Tangherlini “is reviewing all bonuses and the entire performance award system.”
