ABC News Docu-series “NY Med” Grows its Audience
Throughout the Hour on Tuesday Night
The fourth installment of ABC’s “NY Med” delivered 2.80 million Total Viewers, 992,000 Adults 25-54 and 753,000 Adults 18-49, according to Nielsen Media Research. “NY Med” built on its lead-in among Total Viewers (+17%; +400,000). Despite going against the history making performances at the London Olympics Games from 10:00-11:00 p.m., “NY Med” built by +7% in Total Viewers from its first half-hour to its second. In fact, the ABC News series grew its overall audience from start to finish for the 4th week in a row.
For a full year ABC News cameras had unprecedented access to document the mayhem and the miracles that occur daily inside the walls of Columbia and Weill Cornell Medical Centers, the crown jewels of the prestigious New York-Presbyterian Hospital in New York City, for an eight-part series, “NY Med.” Lutheran Medical Center also participated, adding a Brooklyn dimension to the series. The series takes a candid look at how cutting edge medicine often makes the difference, although even the best surgeons can find themselves flirting with disaster.
Terence Wrong is executive producer of “NY Med.” Erica Baumgart and Chris Perera are supervising producers. Monica DelaRosa is series producer and Andy Genovese is the broadcast producer.
