CBS NEWS’ “FACE THE NATION WITH BOB SCHIEFFER” IS THE #1 PUBLIC AFFAIRS SHOW ON SUNDAY, JULY 29
“FACE THE NATION” IS FIRST IN HOUSEHOLDS, VIEWERS AND ADULTS 25-54
CBS News’ FACE THE NATION WITH BOB SCHIEFFER was the #1 public affairs show on Sunday, July 29, placing first in households, viewers and adults 25-54. The CBS broadcast posted a 1.8/05 in households, 2.48m viewers and 0.6/03 in adults 25-54, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings. Editor’s Note: FACE THE NATION’s second half-hour was broadcast contiguously across 69% of the CBS affiliates.
FACE THE NATION is up +6% in households (from 1.7/05) and +1% in viewers (from 2.46m), compared to last year.
Television year-to-date, FACE THE NATION is up +11% in households (2.1/06 from 1.9/05) and +6% in viewers (2.89m from 2.73m) compared to last year. Television year-to-date, FACE THE NATION is first in adults 25-54 (0.7/03, tied with NBC).
On the broadcast, CBS News Political and Chief Legal Correspondent Jan Crawford interviewed Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney in Jerusalem. Bob Schieffer interviewed Democratic National Committee Chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz and Penn State President Rodney Erickson. Schieffer also led a roundtable discussion on the Penn State child sex abuse scandal and its impact on college football with The Patriot-News reporter and CNN contributor Sara Ganim; New York Times sports columnist Bill Rhoden; Buzz Bissinger of Newsweek and the Daily Beast; CBS News Special Correspondent James Brown and host of THE NFL TODAY; and Jim Rome of CBS Sports.
