Definitions: Fast Affiliate Ratings: These first national ratings, including demographics, are available at approximately 11 AM (ET) the day after telecast, and are released to subscribing customers daily. These data, from the National People Meter sample, are strictly time-period information, based on the normal broadcast network feed, and include all programming on the affiliated stations, sometimes including network programming, sometimes not. The figures may include stations that did not air the entire network feed, as well as local news breaks or cutaways for local coverage or other programming. Fast Affiliate ratings are not as useful for live programs and are likely to differ significantly from the final results, because the data reflect normal broadcast feed patterns. For example, with a World Series game, Fast Affiliate Ratings would include whatever aired from 8-11PM on affiliates in the Pacific Time Zone, following the live football game, but not game coverage that begins at 5PM PT. The same would be true of Presidential debates as well as live award shows and breaking news reports.

Rating: Estimated percentage of the universe of TV households (or other specified group) tuned to a program in the average minute. Ratings are expressed as a percent.

Share (of Audience): The percent of households (or persons) using television who are tuned to a specific program, station or network in a specific area at a specific time. (See also, Rating, which represents tuning or viewing as a percent of the entire population being measured.)

Time Shifted Viewing – Program ratings for national sources are produced in three streams of data – Live, Live+Same Day (Live+SD) and Live+7 Day. Time shifted figures account for incremental viewing that takes place with DVRs. Live+Same Day (Live+SD) include viewing during the same broadcast day as the original telecast, with a cut-off of 3:00AM local time when meters transmit daily viewing to Nielsen for processing. Live+7 Day ratings include incremental viewing that takes place during the 7 days following a telecast.

Good numbers for mostly swimming coverage but also a BIG drop in audience without the biggest draw, women’s gymnastics.

  • Mon

Modern Family repeats were hit the most though those episode were 3rd time airings.

  • Artur Brasil

Great rating for Supernatural,so happy. sorry but my englhis is poor.

  • KS

    Great ratings f

  • KS

Great ratings for Supernatural in spite of the heavy competition. Hope it doesn’t get adjusted down.

  • Whitewalkers

Olympics was down 10 million in viewers. Lucky supernatural as always

  • Dave

“Good numbers for mostly swimming coverage but also a BIG drop in audience without the biggest draw, women’s gymnastics.”

Look for mega-numbers tonight with women’s gymnastics and Phelps-Lochte matchup.

  • James

Hopefully we see the girls Payson, Kaylie and Lauren there competing as well. Crossing fingers that Emily shows up to give the girls some much needed support.

I know it’s made up but that’s how much I miss MIOBI. :(

  • Joseph

Season low or not , 1.9 for Big Brother is great and could easily be adjusted up .1 to match the Sunday ratings.

As for the Olympics that was a huge drop of about 25% from the previous night. I did not bother to watch the games either last night given that I knew NBC would not cover all of the top men in Gymnastics and ignored Marcel Nguyen and the other top International Athletes.
Think back to previous games, when you had stars like Nadia and Olga in Gymnastics, and the US Network would highlight the best Athletes on the planet, and not just focus on those that were American.

    @Artur Brasil
Didn’t look like bad english to me.

  • cc

The Middle has more viewers then MF. : )

  • John A

SPN repeat doing fine against Olympics unlike flop LA Complex original.

  • John A

    Modern family repeats did bad.

  • danny

Supernatural is the best series ever!!!!

  • Whitewalkers

John A @ you must keep in mind olympics dropped 10 million so supernatural is lucky if the olympics was on the usual 40 million supernatural would not have looked so good. So i say lucky supernatural

  • John A

SPN would still get these numbers it always does well. LA Complex is the only original on and at least should be able to get a 0.2-0.3.

  • Supernatural fan

Go supernatural, i think thats the first time a CW repeat has hit 1 million, So psyched for season 8!

  • David

The coverage is still up over the last Olympics so NBC has to be over the moon right now because most thought it would have a big fall.

  • Tessa

Looks like Supernatural is going to hold its own on Wednesdays, even against heavy competition. If a repeat could score the same number as last week, going against a giant such as the Olympics coverage then we can all rest happily it’ll do well in the fall. Not that there was anything to worry about with Arrow as its lead-in and Mark Pedowitz’s recent comments about how the show would last as long as he is around (which I hope is a very long time.)

  • The End

The CW would be better off picking up Continuum off Showcase, the show has performed fantastically in Canada, staying close to half a million viewers every week and has beaten Lost Girl in terms of performance.

Still not renewed but easily one of the best propertys on Showcase in Canada.
