I want to see if, after the Olympics, Necessary Roughness rebounds to at least the 0.8 demo it had last week. It lost 900k viewers from Royal Pains this week and I suspect that the trend will continue. The storyline has been uninteresting compared to last season and I doubt if the show will be renewed.
Good job for Dallas considering all the shows that have gone down because of the Olympics, not a monster hit but renewable and even if ratings go down i can see it lasting at least a few more season because of likely high overseas sales.
And to the person that said Falling Skies has never went under 1.2, while it will still be TNTs’ biggest demo show, it will more than likely go under that with a week off and against the Olympics.
Also, who ever thought Melissa And Joey would be the second most watched show on a week full of ABC Family originals, both it and Baby Daddy are down due to the Olympics but no doubt whatsoever about them both being renewed.
Also, any numbers for The Exes or Retired At 35 and renewal chances for the 3 TVLand sitcoms, not too bothered as long as The Exes gets renewed.
@ZAK
A 0.7 and higher is a decent demo for cable. Well depending on the network but am certain without any doubt that if you were a show costing around $3 million an episode to produce with 3 million viewers pulling this demo you could survive for a few seasons.
@ZAK
While it is nowhere near the huge hit many people had anticipated..
It is decent..
Although the fact it has lost over 50% of its viewership and demo from the premiere doesn’t bode well
I suspect it’s bye-bye Futurama.
@Oliver probably.
It might snag a final season though
Looks like family didn’t get hurt at all by the Olympics. Even big bang is lower
Looks like family guy didn’t get hurt at all by the Olympics. Even big bang is lower
Dallas is doing solid numbers beating out NBC regulars like Rock Center and it beat all of ABC’s prime time shows last night. Dallas does it right. The season finale cliffhanger next week will do over 4 million viewers……so sayeth JR YOU WING!
I hope Futurama does well in DVD sales.
@JR YOU WING
Hear hear, I suggest Dallas fans ignore Denis and his nonsense. He’s repeated himself at least 10 times now claiming the show is doomed, a failure, will be cancelled, like a one trick pony he hasn’t got anything new to say, or any facts to back up his proclaimations.
@JR YOU WING
Ya saying DALLAS is doing good because it beats ROCK CENTER is not much of a statement! lol
To everyone that helped answer some questions. Dallas is my favorite show so thank you for the information. I also like R&I and so yes they lost a lot with a women centered event but I guess for one time against the womens gymnastics with the record breaking viewers that must have been a decent demo too for a season 3 show against a night like that correct? Sorry for talking Tuesday but I figured know one would look at Tuesday now. Thank again everyone!!
@ZAK
No problem, best to ignore the misleading information being spouted by haters who dislike Dallas.
A 0.8 and at least 3 million viewers is solid for a cable show and will get Dallas a 3rd season without any doubt.
@The End
Are you kidding right? If a cable show cost that much no ratings would be enough for it to be profitable. Unless it does The Walking Dead numbers.
A 0.7-0.8 in the summer season on TNT is not good. If this number becomes its new normal ratings, say bye bye to it next year.
About the 3 million viewers thing: tell this to the actors and crew of Memphis Beat. It always got more than 3 million viewers and TNT canceled it last year, despite owning the show.
Wow did not expect Baby Daddy to fall below M&J, but very happy M&J is steady and clearly has a strong following
Royal Pains really took a hit, but happy Dallas was able to be steady and beat them. These 2 shows really cancel each other out as far as audience go, so it seems
I’m almost beginning to become concerned about Futurama
There is no question about it. DALLAS is sinking fast.
The fact that its lost close to 60% of its premiere audience is not good.
You’re a fool if you think DALLAS is doing well.
I doubt it will make it to a 3rd season
@RHON: Mama Drama airs outside of primetime so you’ll have to wait for Nick (the one who posts ratings in the AM, not the one who sometimes pastes in stuff from The Futon Critic – TFC won’t have it either).
@silvit
Why would I be joking? I can name quite a few shows that could survive on those numbers. You don’t need astronomical figures to survive on cable if your budget is a little high.
Matter of opinion, a 0.7-0.8 is meeting TNTs expectations, and is a decent enough figure for a cable show.
To be fair, the circumstances surrounding that cancellation wernt exactly made public, the ratings could of been secondary.
Do hope Bobby doesn’t die, they did say, I think, that they were going to phase out the older cast, and, imo, he is the best part of the old Dallas cast, at least in this version, love him and Ann together.
Will say it will break 3.5million and a 1.0, don’t know about 4mil but do think it will go up, and so glad it was renewed and will likely make it a few more seasons.
Declaring now, minimum of 4 seasons for Dallas. And yeah certain people will disagree but can’t wait for them to eat their words.
