Dallas was the number one cable original last night, earning a 0.8 adults 18-49 rating, up a tenth from last week's 0.7 adults 18-49 rating.Royal Pains came in second, also earning a 0.8, down two tenths from last week's 1.0 adults 18-49 rating.
We only receive the top 100 cable shows for adults 25-54 for the whole day from our primary source, if you don't see your show it was not in that top 100 list.
The list below is long but you can use your browsers "find on page" feature (usually CTRL+F or CMD+F) to search - that's probably the easiest way to find Tuesday night's episode of Futurama

@ silvit
No Memphis Beat started to dip down to a .6 and low 2 million viewers after a while. That show was done. Plus Dallas has strong international sales on its side
@ Denis so a .8 is not a good cable demo? Oh my, I am very confused sorry I started a fight. I honestly just wanted to know since the .8 is being shown as great for one show I watch (Dallas) but bad for the other I watch (R&I)
@Silvit
Quoting from the deadline article.
‘Memphis Beat creators creators Liz Garcia and Joshua Harto sold a new project to NBC.’
Sounds like another Breakout Kings situation where the creators jump ship and as a result the show gets canned.
Further backs my point up.
@ZAK it is good for cable, but not great for a summer series on TNT.
Most of the summer regulars pull in 1.0 +
@ZAK
Buddy, ignore him.
He’s repeated himself like 12 times now claiming Dallas is dead, he’s what you call a hardcore hater.
A 0.8 is a good demo for cable.
@The End
as I said, its not great at all for a summer show on TNT
I dount it will craic a 1.0 for the finale…some people’s expectations are too high.
It might scrape a 0.9
@ZAK
Yesterday many male skewing shows lost a big chunk of viewers so I don’t think that the fact there was a women Olympics event had a bigger impact on woman’s demo. To be fair, female skewing shows like PLL stayed almost the same as last week.
@The End
No ad-supported cable show can cost that much. Not even Mad Men cost that and we all know the money problem AMC had for it (reading: it’s not profitable despite great DVD sales).
You are talking nonsense about the money thing.
So for both Dallas and RI running against the Olympics a .8 is decent?
ZAK don’t worry about it I was curious too.
Over all I think Tuesday night with the record setting olympic sviewers had a tougher night then Monday or Wed. night. to be fair. Can everyone agree with that?
Ok thanks @Robert
@Silvit
Ignorance I see.
Need examples of shows costing around 3 million on cable?
- Falling Skies
- Stargate Universe
- Eureka
- Battlestar Galactica
- Stargate Atlantis
- Mad Men(Near enough)
I don’t speak nonsense here.
You can make money on a high budget show, it all depends on how much you pay to have such a show on your network.
I can name many more examples if need be. Have already made one user here look stupid, although he doesn’t see it.
@The End
TNT never renewed shows with such low ratings. Hawthorne did better, yet it was canned.
Ryan Murphy is doing American Horror Story yet Glee it’s still on.
It sounds more of a case of canceling the lowest performing shows on the network to make room for new ones (which will probably happen to F&B this year, despite getting 0.7-0.8 rating)
Calling ICarly/Victorious fans: Jennette McCurdy and Ariana Grande are getting their own show together called Sam&Cat, and Noah Munck is getting his own show called Gibby! Yay!

Glad Mel&Joe is higher than Baby daddy. That show is kind of annoying.
I have a few questions if anyone would please care to weigh in:
1. Although Time Warner owns Dallas and TNT is a Time Warner company, TNT still has to pay a license fee to Warner Horizon that produces Dallas, right? And is that license fee then cheaper than if Dallas were produced by a non-Warner company (and it includes several encore airings)?
2. Dallas picked up a 0.3 rating and an additional 700,000+ viewers for its 11pm encore telecast. Does TNT put together the numbers for the premiere and all encore airings when they evaluate the show’s ratings?
3. I noticed there is no renew/cancel index for cable shows (since I guess they are harder to predict). Nevertheless, would a network like TNT still calculate its overall average (for all original dramas) and average for individual shows and then those shows that don’t meet that overall average get canned? Or would they keep a show on air if it had low ratings but, say, had strong international sales?
Many thanks!
Baby Daddy has some of the most bizzare ratings. Up big one week, and then down big the next. Strange.
Just of note, I am not just talking about the Olympics this week. Notice the trend.
@Blake
Hate to sound arrogant, not a fan of Dallas myself but fully believe with these ratings you’l get at least 4-5 seasons out of the show.
I’m calling it, I’ll even bookmark this thread ready to post next year when Dallas gets renewed for a Season 3. In a, I told you so kind of way.
