Another obmubles “I need mo money” pitch.

I’m so jealous of you that I can barely write the rest of this email.

Imagine shooting hoops with Carmelo Anthony, Patrick Ewing, Sheryl Swoopes, Kyrie Irving, and Alonzo Mourning. Oh, and you’ll get to meet President Obama and Michael Jordan over dinner, too.

Now stop dreaming and make it happen. You and a guest of your choice could join President Obama and some of the greatest basketball stars for a special night at the Obama Classic.

Pitch in $3 or whatever you can, and you’ll be automatically entered for a chance to win.

Hit the court with Patrick Ewing and Melo? Trade stories with the President? This is the kind of stuff your kids will tell their kids, and no one will believe it until you show them a photo.

Don’t worry if suiting up with hoops stars isn’t your thing.

I know you’ve got a kid or a friend who would love nothing more than to play with their heroes while you cheer them on from a courtside seat.

If you’ve been waiting for the right moment to chip in and support the President, it’s time to get off the bench.

Donate $3 to automatically get your name in the hat:

Even though I’m jealous, I hope you win.

It’s like Robin Hood in reverse – it’s Romney Hood,”

I thought the same thing when I heard it, the man makes a huge gaffe and they play it over and over? So its OK for Obama to steal from the poor and give to the rich LOL… I guess Harvard should have taught him better :-)

Most of the MSM playing this steal hasn’t figured out he screwed the line up.

Did you have a flood that damaged your office? I haven’t followed much from TVBTN’s while I was gone.

I like Byron York from the Washington Examiner. He wrote an article on one of the topics that most interest me most .

York: When 1,099 felons vote in race won by 312 ballots

Provisional balloting should always be explained & allowed . It’s unfortunate that it wasn’t done in Detroit.

New TV ad to attack Obama, Geithner on lost non-union Delphi pensions

“I would ask President Obama why I had no rights and he had all the rights to take my pension away and never ever look back and say not only did I take it from Mary Miller, but I took it from 20,000 other people and their families,” one Delphi salaried retiree, Mary Miller, says in the ad.

I recommend San Remo, which is right on the Italian Riviera. I liked it so much there, that I went back and spent another two weeks. You are very close to Monaco too. Also, you have to go to Fiorenze — Florence. Oh boy, you will love it there. Later…

Joan Rivers escorted out of Costco by Police in Burbank for selling her new book at a table by the hotdog stand. Costco refuses to sell her book due to controversial content. So she thought she could sell it on her own.

Not sure what content that would be, but I can only imagine it must be nasty.

Joan Rivers has absolutely no shame. She talked about her plastic surgeries during the 1960’s! I thought that she was at her lowest point when she was hosting an Oscar awards show above the channel crawl on TV Guide’s channel. Now, just walking into a Costco store to sell her books, which are not being sold at Costco, takes the cake.

    Hi Hillbilly,

“Regardless of what caused the problem the first stimulus didn’t work as promised. Now you want another one. You want the fed govt to fund state employees forever? If not how long?”

Actually who says the first stimulus didn’t work? Many economists agree that the stimulus saved many jobs as well as produced them. Unfortunately, the economic team who helped devise the stimulus didn’t know the exact scope and size of the economic conditions at the time of the plan. That is where they screwed up and not on the stimulus itself. If they had predicted the size and scope of the economic conditions more accurately, the stimulus would have had to be larger as Paul Krugman kept saying but too late. Obama should have hired Krugman. Good news it’s not too late to apply more stimulus and help many states from cutting important resources to bare bone status while making unemployment go up. Perhaps, if they had done the stimulus correctly the first time, they wouldn’t need a second one.

“One of your favorite talking points. It failed in Chile so it means it will fail here too. I could use Greece for my counter argument.”

Greece did not apply neoliberal policies until the last decade or so. They did lower taxes while they began to privatize while continuing to use governmental services so perhaps that is where the US mimics Greece. Chile’s dictator Pinochet eliminated unions and governmental services rather quickly in one swoop and then lowered taxes and privatized. Both cases different (Greece and Chile) and these neoliberal policies haven’t worked in either case except raised poverty to extreme levels. They don’t call it the shock therapy doctrine for nothing. It took Chile years to recover from this shock and only when Pinochet started implementing some social programs before he got booted out of office and replaced with democratic leaders concerned about citizens and not just the bottom line. His citizens were forced to carry the bottom line even if it meant extreme poverty and inequality for years. How is Corporatism any different from Communism? They both are under a totalitarian type government concerned about economic development on the backs of its citizens (one to the state and one to corporations). Sorry, but economic development should include its citizens not exclude them. We have had years of increase in productivity and no kind of wage increase (just stagnation) to support such productivity. Instead of profits being shifted to the state as in the case of Communism, they have been shifted to big corporations. Inequality has risen in the US because of these type policies. Let’s keep on going down that path and see what happens.

  • Jeff

@coffee, I don’t look at price per gallon any more. I have to put Premium in my tank so I stopped looking at the per gallon amount when I know it’s gonna be $80+ to fill it up :(

@ Ralph. Joan is worth 90 million or more, so tacky that she would sit there and “sell” her book and not try to give it out instead. Her book has been on the best sellers list for weeks and for her to pull that stunt at a Costco in “The Valley” is quite disgusting.

She probably charged for autographs as well.

  • Ratboy

I am pretty tired of hearing about inequality in the US!
All men are CREATED equal NOT all men are to remain equal!

    Night all I am POOPED!

  • Faith3

“Yea about a week of spending. That really helps. TIA Have you noticed Nobama has only called for extending the “middle class” tax cuts for one year? Why do you have so much faith in the fed govt? They got us (to be honest we the people let them.) in the fix we’re in. You think giving them more money is going to help?”

He extended middle class cuts because they are more likely to be spent and go back into the economy unlike wealthy investors who are very likely to invest overseas in other countries to earn higher profit on returns. Not to say you can’t blame them but it doesn’t help our economy. Our concern should be our economy not about people at the top getting wealthier by any means necessary. Neoliberlism focuses on profit and wealth not the country’s wealth as much as the individual wealth while Keynesianism focuses on kicking back “our” economy and “our” wealth and wellbeing for all “boats to rise” as the conservatives USE to say until they chose to switch to each on his own and everyone else to he*l in a handbasket.
