   McDonald’s just reported the worse earnings this quarter than they have in 9 years, a great number of fast food chains report loses.

   Priceline, expedia ect. reports a huge drop in on-line travel orders.

   Applebee’s, O’Charleys, Chillie’s, etc. reports massive drops in sales

   Summary, the economy is dropping bigtime again. Stay Tuned

   Glad your not effected. However one scientist is saying he thinks this is the precurser to a much lager one for later this week, they are having an unusual series of tremors, keep an eye out guy it could spread.

   There have been several studies using different methodology and the one thing they all had in common was the agreement that the stimulus did save jobs. Where they disagreed was on job creation and the size and scope of the creation. I believe there were around 6 economic groups (I’m aware of) that did the study. If you want the exact methodology of each, you may find it in each report since they must publish this information.

   Saying many schools have already cut such things as music, sports and art program and are now dipping into cutting technology (one university completely cut out computer science) not to mention the amount of services being cut like full time police and firefighters, the stimulus would be critical until cities and states have recovered from the recession. Some are resorting to selling city/town assets out of desperation so they can fund services which will bite them in the butt long term.

   So the govt can collect the info & its OK. You can only sue them if they use it?

   As far as Greece,

   They do have things in common with the US. For one thing they want public services but didn’t want to pay for them. A large proportion of people who could pay them tried to skirt them. That was illegal but corrupt politicians put into law that very wealthy enterprises didn’t have to pay those pesky taxes. As realitychick already mentioned, plenty of wealth interest don’t have to pay taxes here either. The burden either falls on those earning wages or regressive taxes or cuts in services. Also, like the US, while debt was skyrocketing, they decreases capital taxation which caused the debt to explode!

    I see. So, you are against tax cuts for the middle class. Well, you may have nothing to worry about since the GOP’s “all or nothing approach” will not allow them unless the wealthy get their cuts too. Fine, but I hope the Dems don’t give in to such destructive demands since we simply can’t afford them. Infrastructure has a better multiplier effect anyway.

    @coffee, Slept thru the quake last night Coffee. Thanks for the kind words. This house was built in the 1920′s and was gutted in the 80′s and renovated. So I should be in good shape. The last quake i felt was Easter Sunday a few years ago, I was poolside in Palm Springs. The roaring from the mountains from the earth grinding was very humbling. Not sure what part of Cali AppleS is in…

    @ratboy, sorry I jumped your sh-t! You know how I love reading your posts with my guns a blazing! Must of been small buckets of cash. Because records are kept sealed upon written verbal or legal instruction. So I can’t imagine it was that expensive of at all.
