Higher Gas Prices Add to Economic Slump

Unemployment is at 8.3 percent. The economy is sputtering at 1.5 percent growth. Food prices are rising due to drought conditions across the country. And gas prices are up again, pinching Americans’ summer budgets. It is past time for the President and Congress to pursue smart policies that would put us on a path to relief.

According to AAA’s Fuel Gauge Report, the current national average for regular is $3.66 per gallon. That’s up 28 cents per gallon from a month ago, and July had its biggest price jump since AAA started tracking prices in 2000.

*NBC Hypes July as ‘Hottest Month Ever’ – Doesn’t Bother to Mention It Was Barely Hotter Than 1936

“On our broadcast tonight,” Brian Williams teased his lead story Wednesday night, “extreme heat, but more than that: the official confirmation that came today that it has never been this hot in America.”

Williams proceeded to hyperventilate over the “official word that arrived today that” July was “the hottest of all time since they started keeping records.”

Hmmmmm…. In 2012 it was 77.6 average in 1936 77.4 and in 1901 much of the country had an average of 77.8 but the overall average nationwide was 77.4

By the way we around here will average below normal for August, with above average rainfall now. August 1-15th is usually our hottest and driest month

*US wholesale stockpiles fell as sales plummeted

WASHINGTON (AP) — U.S. wholesale companies cut back their stockpiles in June as sales fell by the most in three years. The declines in sales and inventories could signal slower growth in the coming months.

Wholesale inventories dropped 0.2 percent in June, the Commerce Department said Thursday. That’s the largest drop in nine months. Sales at the wholesale level fell 1.4 percent, the sharpest decline since March 2009.

Even though stockpiles declined, the steeper drop in sales means it would take wholesalers longer to clear out their inventories. That suggests they may order fewer goods to keep their stockpiles from getting any larger. That could lower factory production and slow growth.

Americans are spending less at the same time that hiring has slowed. Employers added only 73,000 jobs per month from April to June, about a third of the pace in the first quarter.

Matthew knows boatloads more about economics than I do. That is a fact.

When he says borrowing large sums of money to support Govenment spending is the better alternative to less spending because borrowing is cheap, I disagree. The other alternative is to print money which the fed has done plenty off.

Never in our history have we run 1.3 Trillion dollar deficits. We have done this for four straight years. Food stamps went from 17 million users to 45 million users in just four years. We are on a path to financial ruin. Yes Matthew I think the house is on fire and if we wait much longer it won’t matter if we put it out or not.

The great recession? We could have been out of this in less than two years if we didn’t grow Government the way we did.

In the video the girl says, “All you have to do is F#ck and nine monthes later you get the big bucks.”

Faith argues that this is a small part of the budget. When these kids grow up in this atmospere they tend to have problems that cost the taxpayers hundreds of billions of dollars.

    children having children
    Cities in ruin

All of these things are paid for by the taxpayer. Never mentioned in the lib. Press. They are liberal programs. They are not supported by conservatives. The problem is they just keep getting worse and bigger. Your approach is a miserable failure. Trapping people in hopeless lives. I guess it doesn’t matter as long as they vote Democrat in November.

Please don’t give me that education is the answer bit. I have been hearing that for 40 years now. When is that supposed to kick in?

Seems many more stories about how Romney at the head of Bain Capital fired employees to make a buck to outsource jobs to China and as a result they lost their medical coverage and lost family members to illnesses.

This current story of the man from Indiana that lost his job medical coverage and his wife, has the Romney team in a panic. His own spokes people are endorsing public health care.

Blink! U.S. Debt Just Grew by $11 Trillion

Republicans and Democrats spent last summer battling how best to save $2.1 trillion over the next decade. They are spending this summer battling how best to not save $2.1 trillion over the next decade.

In the course of that year, the U.S. government’s fiscal gap — the true measure of the nation’s indebtedness — rose by $11 trillion.

The U.S. fiscal gap, calculated (by us) using the Congressional Budget Office’s realistic long-term budget forecast — the Alternative Fiscal Scenario — is now $222 trillion. Last year, it was $211 trillion. The $11 trillion difference — this year’s true federal deficit — is 10 times larger than the official deficit and roughly as large as the entire stock of official debt in public hands.

“The answer for the U.S. isn’t pretty. Closing the gap using taxes requires an immediate and permanent 64 percent increase in all federal taxes. Alternatively, the U.S. needs to cut, immediately and permanently, all federal purchases and transfer payments, including Social Security and Medicare benefits, by 40 percent. Or it can mix these terrible fiscal medicines with honey, namely radical fiscal reforms that make the economy much fairer and far stronger. What the government can’t do is pay its bills by spending more and taxing less. America’s children, whose futures are being rapidly destroyed, are smart enough to tell us this. ”

A little tidying up on the Obama PAC cancer ad.

    Here’s the Joe Soptic timeline:

** Mitt Romney left Bain in 1999 to work on Olympics.

** GST Steel in Kansas City was shut down in 2001.

** Top Obama bundler Jonathan Lavine was in charge of Bain Capital at the time.

    ** Soptic was offered a buy-out.

** Soptic took another job but declined to purchase their insurance plan.

** Soptic’s wife had her own health insurance plan through 2003.

    ** In 2006, Soptic’s wife was diagnosed — diagnosed! — with very late-stage cancer.

** She died 22 days after diagnosis.

** The pro-Obama PAC Priorities USA cuts an ad blaming Romney for her death.

Dont do the leftie thing and blow it out of proportion! One of Romneys idiots who is almost as dumb as Pelosi but not as big of a liar as Ried said it. The origional story has been blown apart to shreds as she did have her own insurance and died 5 or 6 years later and I dont think the Romney campaign is in a PANIC.

Nice try Jeff, maybe the stupid left will beleive it but the facts are the factsnot to mention that the deputy campaing manager lied through her teeth yesterday when she said she knew nothing about his story, come to find out she was on a conferance call WITH him listening to his story! So the list of liars just gets longer!!! The Obama White House does not know how to tell the truth!!

E-mails about clean-energy loans provide new details on White House involvement

President Obama’s staff arranged for him to be personally briefed last summer on a loan program to help clean-energy companies, two months before the program was thrust into headlines by the collapse of its flagship, the solar company Solyndra, records show.

About the same time, then-White House Chief of Staff William Daley resolved a dispute among administration officials over another project in the program, clearing the way for a $1.4 billion loan, according to documents and sources familiar with the situation.

The documents, a series of e-mails among Energy Department staff members involved in managing the program, provide new details about the level of White House involvement in the controversial initiative. White House officials have said in the past that final decisions about which companies would receive the loan guarantees were made by career staff members at the Energy Department, not political appointees.

Man Begins Serving 30 Day Sentence For ‘Rainwater Theft’…

Man Sentenced to 30 Days for Catching Rain Water on Own Property Enters Jail

Gary Harrington, the Oregon man convicted of collecting rainwater and snow runoff on his rural property surrendered Wednesday morning to begin serving his 30-day, jail sentence in Medford, Ore.

“I’m sacrificing my liberty so we can stand up as a country and stand for our liberty,” Harrington told a small crowd of people gathered outside of the Jackson County (Ore.) Jail.

Several people held signs that showed support for Harrington as he was taken inside the jail.

Harrington was found guilty two weeks ago of breaking a 1925 law for having, what state water managers called “three illegal reservoirs” on his property. He was convicted of nine misdemeanors, sentenced to 30 days in jail and fined over $1500 for collecting rainwater and snow runoff on his property.

FNC’s Peter Johnson Says Stephanie Cutter Could Face Charges From FEC

Fox News Channel’s legal analyst Peter Johnson told Fox & Friends host Alisyn Camerota on Thursday that he thinks President Barack Obama’s deputy campaign manager Stephanie Cutter could be liable for civil charges or more from the Federal Election Commission for making misleading statements saying that she was not familiar with Joe Soptic. Soptic, the subject of a pro-Obama PAC ad in which he accuses Mitt Romney of being complicit in his wife’s cancer death, also appeared in other pro-Obama ads and on a conference call with Cutter.

“Now it comes out that it appears Ms. Cutter is not telling the truth,” said Johnson.

Camerota said that Cutter claims she did not know the details of Soptic’s wife’s death, which may be true. However, it is clear that she is familiar with Soptic himself. “That’s not running afoul of the law, is it,” asked Camerota.

“Oh, it might be,” said Johnson. “Under the Federal Election Commission there could be civil penalties and more.”

Johnson went on to say that details have emerged that directly connect the independent Political Action Committee, Priorities USA, which is forbidden by law from coordinating with a campaign, and President Obama’s formal reelection effort. “In my view, that quote – that tape recording – shows a real awareness that they were coordinating this thing,” said Johnson.

Johnson conceded that Soptic can appear in both PAC ads and official campaign related functions, but the coordination that has recently been exposed is a violation of the law.

“Listen to the tapes – the tapes speak more than I can,” Johnson concluded

I tell you what, Congress had better wake up and put a stop to this takeover of our Money….

    {originally appeared on CNBC.com]:

Treasury’s Secretive $2.4 Trillion Mutual Fund Guarantee

Details about a secretive government program to bail out money-market mutual funds are finally coming to light.

Acting without any explicit Congressional authority, the U.S. Treasury guaranteed in excess of $2.4 trillion of money market funds after the giant Reserve Primary Fund “broke the buck” following the bankruptcy of Lehman Brothers. The program, which ended on Sept. 18, 2009, seems to have successfully prevented a panicked run by money-market fund investors.

But until now, the Treasury has kept the identities of the funds that received government backing and the amounts guaranteed secret. It was not clear how many funds obtained backing or for how much taxpayers were on the hook during the program’s duration.

Linus Wilson, an assistant professor of finance at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, recently obtained data about the program from the Treasury, through a Freedom of Information Act request.

During the primaries, when Romney’s super PAC’s were destroying any
conservative who got close using ads that won awards from factcheck, com
for the number of lies in one ad, Mitt didn’t see it as a problem. He refused to tell them to stop lying. He called Newt a crybaby for complaining about the lies and said, “This is big time politics. If he can’t take this, what will he do when he goes against Obama. If you can’t stand the heat get out of the kitchen.”

Why was it OK for Romney’s super PAC’s to lie about his opponents, but
not OK for Obama’s to lie about him. Why does Romney get a Lie All You
Want card that others don’t get to use.

CBO: ObamaCare Will Leave 30 Million Uninsured

This is what ObamaCare is really about?

The frauds who passed the unread bill claimed it was to INSURE 30 to 40 million Americans who had no health care insurance. Now the CBO says under ObamaCare 30 million will STILL BE UNINSURED. What are they doing with the low-ball cost of $1 trillion plus dollars to fund ObamaCare? What are they doing with the $613 billion they stole from Medicare?

Obama said 30 million would gain coverage under his health care takeover plan. Let me get this straight. Obama raised taxes with his health care scheme and those 30 million will still be UNINSURED. Looks like another documented Obama lie.

*****CNSNews DOT com — A new Congressional Budget Office (CBO) report says that under the Affordable Care Act, a.k.a. Obamacare, 30 million non-elderly Americans will remain without health insurance in 2022.

One of the main arguments the Obama administration made for passing the Affordable Care Act was that it would provide coverage for the uninsured.

Currently, accoriding to CBO, there are 53 million uninsured persons in the United States, including uninsured illegal aliens. The CBO estimates that in 2022–8 years after the Affordable Care Act has been fully implemented–30 million people will remain uninsured.

Moreover, under Obamacare, 8 percent of legal U.S. residents will remain without health insurance in 2022, according to CBO.

The report was done to assess the fiscal impact of the Supreme Court June Obamacare decision.
