Good Morning All!
I have been at it for a couple of hours and this day wont get much easier! but that is OK cuz tonight my son, daughter in law, and my grandbabies come for the weekend!!
Morning, everyone.

@Matthew
I did read the chart, and with your own level of knowledge in economics, and (presumably) statistics, you should be able to determine immediately why Laffer’s article is self-serving hucksterism.
- – -
Ouch ! I inferred from that a sarcastic , skeptical, disbelief of my past statements here. As I’ve said before , I had an oversaturation of economic babble by being married to an econ prof. for 19 years. As a result , I’m more than jaded because so much taught years ago turned out differently. Stats was a favorite subject of mine, but, again , I took it many years ago. At yeast, stats is reliable … some of the econ taught then wasn’t.
What I have been guilty of lately is reading without thinking because I’ve been stressed . You score a whole point.

Coffee,
Dr. Zuhdi Jasser will be our speaker Tuesday at our monthly tea party. He’s a frequent guest on Fox News Channel, CNN, CBS, and MSNBC.
I forgot to tell you when I was in Wisconsin Toby Keith was going to provide a free concert with free beer & food for the soldiers & open to all @ Fort McCoy which is right outside my hometown. He had to have emergency gallbladder surgery , but, got other talent to fill in for him …. there were 5,000 people ; pretty good for a base that doesn’t have that many soldiers there anymore. Town people , plus soldiers had a good time. I didn’t go because of my dad. Anyway, Toby Keith is doing a makeup free concert on August 30th. with free food & beer for all. Soft drinks for underage , too.
Our prayers are with you and your Father d.d.
@Ratboy
tonight my son, daughter in law, and my grandbabies come for the weekend!!
There is not a better way to spend a weekend my Friend.
I’m taking the wife up to the cabin to relax later this evening after she gets off work, she has been through so much lately. The past 3 months she has been going from here to her dads about 100 miles away just about every weekend and all of it is now hitting her.
Wonderful lady my wife is. She deserves a rest.
Coffee,
Pamper your wife now, but, yourself as well. You’ve have shouldered a mountain of grief , too. I have yet to find out how my whole life will change with the loss of my parents.
Rats, enjoy every minute !
———————————–
I used to live in this county , so, I tend to follow the news there.
Registration fraud can lead to voter fraud
The Dayton Daily News reports that the Board of Elections in Montgomery County is dealing with what appears to be a serious case of registration fraud.
Apparently, an organization called The Ohio Organizing Campaign in Montgomery County has submitted more than 100 suspicious registrations from a single individual that allegedly have nonexistent addresses or other bad information. The group this individual belongs to is affiliated with another outfit that “unites community organizing groups, labor unions, faith organizations, and policy institutes across the state.”
The punishment for a conviction of registration fraud is a $5,000 fine and jail time of six to 18 months. This is obscenely light considering the potential for mayhem registration fraud could cause, if committed on a wide scale with the intent of voter fraud on Election Day.
Don’t think for a minute this isn’t a problem elsewhere in the Country. Think Senator, Al Frankin, MN

From my native state of Wisconsin:
WI: Public assistance recipients earning double their income in benefits, report finds
- -
The nonpartisan Legislative Fiscal Bureau, took a look at social service programs and their payouts .
For instance, a single parent with one child earning $15,130 could conceivably receive up to $43,277 between income, benefits and the state’s refundable tax credits.
Public assistance includes everything from health care to food stamps to Wisconsin Shares, the state’s subsidized child-care program.
How is that going to be an incentive for work?” A lot of middle-class families in Wisconsin are living on $40,000 a year without the aid of public assistance.
One of the housekeepers in the hotel I stayed was single with two kids , worked 8 hour shifts, then went to 8 hours in a nursing home . She also helped take care of a friend that was a quadriplegic. Doesn’t sound fair , does it ?
@d.d.
Doesn’t sound fair , does it ?
2008 Hope and Change
Now the majority of the working public has lost all hope. One thing I find simply amazing are the lack of reports on how many families have just flat gave up and are living in tent cities, much like the depression years.
*Why does the media ignore “tent cities” story of this economy…
In 2012, no news coverage in the states has focused on the problem of homelessness and “tent cities” in America. In fact, if you were an American citizen, you would think that this problem did not exist. The only media outlet that has covered this problem this year is the BBC.
According to the BBC in March of this year, total homelessness in America (chronic and those in permanent supportive housing) has increased by over 9% in the past two years. Also, what they called the “doubled up” population (i.e. people who live with their friends, family or non-relatives for economic reasons) has increased by 13% from 6 million in 2009 to 6.8 million in 2010, and perhaps 7.5 million today.
There are now 13 million unemployed Americans, which is three million more than when President Barack Obama was first elected. The stark reality is that many of them are people who very recently lived comfortable middle-class lives.
Conditions are unhygienic. There are no toilets and electricity is only available in the one communal tent where the campers huddle around a wood stove for warmth in the heart of winter.
Ice weighs down the roofs of tents, and rain regularly drips onto the sleeping campers’ faces.
Tent cities have sprung up in and around at least 55 American cities – they represent the bleak reality of America’s poverty crisis.
Some distressing news in the Fox Poll. 49-40 Romney is losing to a guy with a terrible economic record.
I don’t care what all the high minded, smarty pants on the site say, Hillbilly and me are right on the debt. We can talk about % of GDP and how cheap it is to borrow until the cows come home. Hey, forgetaboutit this is a mess and we will go bankrupt if our European style Socialist President and Dems get control of the Government for another four years.
I have said on this site that I thought the Prez. was a nice guy. I don’t think that anymore. He is power hungry ideologue who will stop at nothing to keep power. He has no class.

I think I read something about them in ‘The Daily Caller’ at the beginning of the year. I missed the BBC production ,although I head about it. We had a tent city here, but, the churches bonded together to get the families into stable housing & some type of jobs. Volunteer professional medical & dental care is being provided to those that aren’t on drugs or alcohol .

Bureaucrats Discover Bomb In Federal Building, Wait Three Months To Contact Authorities
DETROIT – A new report criticizes the handling of an explosive device found outside a Detroit federal building and kept inside for three weeks before authorities were alerted.
The Detroit News said Wednesday that the report by the U.S. Homeland Security Department also faults the training, hiring practices and oversight of security guards at the McNamara Federal Building. That’s where a tool bag with explosive components was left on Feb. 26, 2011, and not identified until March 18.
The report says the device didn’t explode but represented a serious safety risk. It says three guards were fired, a fourth resigned and five others were suspended for their involvement.

Interview request to Ohio mayor sets off alarms for Bloomberg, Media Matters
Before responding to a May 2012 interview request from conservative news organization Media Trackers Ohio, an employee of Columbus, Ohio Mayor Michael Coleman forwarded the request to New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s office and a liberal D.C. consultant, who immediately alerted liberal organization Media Matters for America.
The Coleman staffer, R. Lee Roberts, is the Ohio chairman of Mayor Bloomberg’s Mayors Against Illegal Guns (MAIG), a pro-gun control lobbying group. Coleman, a Democrat, receives a salary from MAIG but works from Coleman’s office and participates in a taxpayer-funded retirement plan.
Media Trackers has since used public records to prove Roberts coordinated with Bloomberg employees and left-wing Ohio nonprofit, ProgressOhip, to advance MAIG’s policy agenda using the January 2011 shooting of Rep. Gabrielle Giffords in Tucson, and a February 2012 school shooting in Chardon, Ohio.
Two days before Media Trackers Ohio requested an interview with Coleman, Bloomberg staffer Christopher Kocher emailed a story by a Florida blogger to Glaze, Roberts and several other MAIG regional coordinators. Kocher warned MAIG leaders that Sean Caranna, the president of Florida Carry Inc. — a pro-Second Amendment organization — had published a story criticizing Orlando MAIG coordinator Linda Vaughn.
Caranna found that a grant from the left-wing Joyce Foundation — which is managed by Bloomberg’s office — was insufficient to cover Vaughn’s salary. He reported that MAIG was leveraging taxpayer funds to reduce its overhead costs, by installing MAIG lobbyists in mayors’ offices nationwide — effectively using public dollars to lobby for gun control.

Deli Owner Wants Obama to Remove His Business from Campaign Ad
After all, she didn’t build that, according to Obama.
The owner of a specialty deli at Findlay Market wants her store’s name removed from an ad President Barack Obama is using to defend his record on small business.
Ten seconds into the ad “Always,” a man is shown from behind, pushing up the security door of Krause’s while Obama’s voice talks about owners sacrificing to make their businesses run.
The owner of the store, Debra Krause-McDonnell, said that she did not give permission for her business to be shown and that some customers have told her they’ll no longer shop there.
“I’ve been put into a position I didn’t ask for,” she said Wednesday after the Hamilton County Republican Party sent out an email about the ad that accused Democrats of not responding to the owner’s concerns. “I’m a little angry.”
She’d be just as angry, she said, if it were an ad for Mitt Romney.

Parasite: Obama Calls for Taxpayers to Pay for Michelle’s Service as First Lady
Those multi-million dollar vacation, $6000 + jackets and her personal attendants are more than enough payment for Mooch.
EDITORIAL: Obama: Pay my wife, please
President wants taxpayers to pick up larger family tab
President Obama thinks his wife should be paid for the privilege of serving as first lady. Speaking at a campaign event in Denver on Wednesday, Mr. Obama invoked Mrs. Obama’s plight to make a point about equal pay for equal work. “I want to make sure that when she’s working, she is getting paid the same as men,” he said. “I’ve got to say, first ladies right now don’t, even though that’s a tough job.” Poor Michelle, we feel her pain.
If Mr. Obama was joking, it was in poor taste, especially with so many women struggling in hard economic times. First ladies have never been given a paycheck, but they certainly benefit from their privileged circumstances. Michelle basks in the reflected fame of her powerful husband; she lives rent-free in the most exclusive address in the world; she has chefs, maids, drivers and other servants at her beck and call 24 hours a day. It might be a “tough job,” but she is assisted by a personal staff of more than 20 people, who are paid a collective salary of over $1.5 million. Those perks are forms of compensation.
Mrs. Obama lives the good life and she lets everyone know it. While not known for being a fashion leader in the style of Jackie Kennedy, she has come under fire for flaunting her expensive tastes in times of economic trouble. Her latest offense was showing up in London at a pre-Olympics party wearing a jacket costing $6,800. That’s 10 times the median weekly earnings for full-time working women.
The Obamas are notorious for their lavish, taxpayer-subsidized vacations. Their December 2011 getaway in Hawaii cost more than $1.5 million. Mrs. Obama’s jaunt with some of her friends to the Costa del Sol in Spain in August 2010 billed for close to half a million dollars, much of which was from travel costs incurred by the U.S. Air Force.
Mr. Obama isn’t doing well with the ladies in the polls these days, with Gallup showing him losing white women by 8 points. But women skeptical of his record aren’t likely to rally around calls for his wife to draw a tax-supported salary. Like her husband, Mrs. Obama’s career has been marked mostly by patronage positions, and she lives like royalty. If she wants to get paid, nothing is preventing her from going out and getting a real job — except for the fact that there are so few of them in the Obama economy.

Obama: Lets Repeat Auto Industry Success with More Bailouts
Great idea. Obama wants to screw Americans out of more money with this “success” from the auto bailouts. After all, it only caused the taxpayers to lose.
PUEBLO, Colo. – President Obama, while villifying Mitt Romney for opposing the auto industry bailout, bragged about the success of his decision to provide government assistance and said he now wants to see every manufacturing industry come roaring back.
“I said, I believe in American workers, I believe in this American industry, and now the American auto industry has come roaring back,” he said. “Now I want to do the same thing with manufacturing jobs, not just in the auto industry, but in every industry.
“I don’t want those jobs taking root in places like China, I want those jobs taking root in places like Pueblo,” Obama told a crowd gathered for a campaign rally at the Palace of Agriculture at the Colorado State Fairgrounds here.
He made the remarks while pushing for the renewal of a tax credit for wind energy manufacturing – something Romney opposes – and for the creation of credits for companies who bring jobs home from overseas, as well as the elimination of loopholes for offshoring.
“Gov. Romney brags about his private sector experience, but it was mostly invested in companies, some of which were called ‘pioneers of outsourcing,’” Obama said. “I don’t want to be a pioneer of outsourcing. I want to insource.”

IRS discourages employees from detecting fraud
STUDY: Child tax credit payments to illegal aliens over last five years as IRS fails to inform citizens that their Social Security numbers have been stolen
Child tax credit payments to illegal immigrants have quadrupled in the past five years as a result of President Obama’s stimulus package and the Internal Revenue Service’s refusal to pursue instances of fraud, a new study shows. The IRS is also failing to inform citizens that illegal immigrants have stolen their Social Security Numbers.
The IRS paid out $7.4 billion in tax refunds to illegal immigrants in 2012, quadruple the $1.7 billion paid out in 2007, according to a new report by Senate Republicans. The report was released as Treasury Department Inspector General J. Russell George revealed that the tax agency has allowed tax breaks for illegal immigrants and other areas of fraud to continue under the Obama administration.
“[The Inspector General of Tax Administration] found an environment which discourages employees from detecting fraudulent applications,” George told the Washington Times.
The IG studied returns for the 2010 tax year and found that $4.2 billion had been issued to ineligible workers. They have been aided in part by the 2009 stimulus bill, which eased eligibility requirements for the tax breaks. More than 2 million illegal workers claimed the credit in 2010, a 46 percent increase over 2008. The government paid out $4.2 billion to illegal filers, double 2008’s $2.1 billion price tag.
The report also states that citizens have been placed at further risk because the IRS does not notify taxpayers when illegal immigrants have compromised their Social Security numbers. The inspector general’s office during a previous investigation notified the IRS about 45 returns containing stolen Social Security information and asked agents to follow up with the genuine taxpayers.
