FOR THE 20TH WEEK OF THE TELEVISION YEAR, CBS NEWS’ “FACE THE NATION WITH BOB SCHIEFFER” IS THE #1 PUBLIC AFFAIRS SHOW
“FACE THE NATION” IS FIRST IN HOUSEHOLDS, VIEWERS AND ADULTS 25-54 ON SUNDAY, AUGUST 5
For the 20th week of the television year, CBS News’ FACE THE NATION WITH BOB SCHIEFFER is the #1 public affairs show, placing first in households, viewers and adults 25-54 on Sunday, August 5. The CBS broadcast posted a 1.8/05 in households, 2.38m viewers and 0.6/03 in adults 25-54, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings. Editor’s Note: FACE THE NATION’s second half-hour was broadcast contiguously across 69% of the CBS affiliates.
Television year-to-date, FACE THE NATION is up +11% in households (2.1/06 from 1.9/05) and +6% in viewers (2.88m from 2.73m) compared to last year. Television year-to-date, FACE THE NATION is first in adults 25-54 (0.7/03, tied with NBC).
On the broadcast, Bob Schieffer interviewed Gov. Bob McDonnell (R-VA), former Gov. Ted Strickland (D-OH), former Gov. Ed Rendell (D-PA) and Rep. Mario Diaz-Balart (R-FL). Schieffer also interviewed retired Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O'Connor and hosted a political roundtable with Michael Crowley of TIME magazine, Julianna Goldman, Chief White House Correspondent for Bloomberg News, CBS News Congressional Correspondent Nancy Cordes and CBS News Political and Chief Legal Correspondent Jan Crawford.
