Lochte Set to Appear Thursday, August 16 to Talk About Winning Five Medals and Beating Michael Phelps in the 400M Individual Medley
Felix Will Appear Friday, August 17 to Discuss Her Two Gold Medals and Her Relay Team Setting a World Record
The Gold Medalists Will Join Previously Announced and Newly Crowned Olympic Champions Gabrielle Douglas and Missy Franklin in the Show’s Lineup Next Week
BURBANK, Calif. -- August 10, 2012— Coming off strong performances at the 2012 Olympic Summer Games in London, gold medalists Ryan Lochte and Allyson Felix will stop by NBC’s “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno” (Mondays-Fridays, 11:35 p.m.-12:35 a.m. ET) on August 16 and August 17, respectively.
Lochte received much attention early in the Games when he was able to defeat Michael Phelps in the 400m individual medley to win his first of two gold medals in London. Felix earned her first individual Olympic gold medal by winning the 200m race – the same competition in which she had won a silver medal in both the 2004 and 2008 Olympics. She was also a member of the 4x100m relay team that won the gold medal and went on to set a world record.
Both athletes will be making their “Tonight Show” debuts. Lochte will join fellow guest Kristen Bell on the couch while Felix will team up later with fellow guest Jason Statham.
The gold medalists will join previously announced and newly crowned Olympic champions Gabrielle Douglas and Missy Franklin in next week’s lineup
