Following the Women’s BMX Finals Competition, Viewers Will See Over Two-Minutes of Executive Producer Ryan Murphy’s New Series

UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. – August 10, 2012 – Tonight (August 10) -- following the Summer Olympics Women’s BMX Finals competition at approximately 11:17 p.m. (ET) -- NBC will offer a two-minute-and-15-second sneak peek of its new fall comedy “The New Normal.”

Bryan (Andrew Rannells, "Girls," "The Book of Mormon") and David (Justin Bartha, "The Hangover") are a Los Angeles couple and they have it all. Well, almost. With successful careers and a committed, loving partnership, there is one thing that this couple is missing: a baby. And just when they think the stars will never align, enter Goldie (Georgia King, "One Day"), an extraordinary young woman with a checkered past. A Midwestern waitress and single mother looking to escape her dead-end life and small-minded grandmother (Emmy and Tony Award-winner Ellen Barkin), Goldie decides to change everything and move to L.A. with her precocious eight year-old daughter.

Desperate and broke – but also fertile – Goldie quickly becomes the guys' surrogate and quite possibly the girl of their dreams. Surrogate mother, surrogate family.

Ryan Murphy (“Glee”) serves as creator/executive producer and director along with creator/executive producer Ali Adler ("Glee," "Chuck") and executive producer Dante Di Loreto ("Glee," "American Horror Story").

"The New Normal" is produced by 20th Century Fox Television and Ryan Murphy Productions.

  • Nick

This show looks really good. I can’t wait.

You will post the sneak peak here, right?

  • Jenny

I wish they would have aired this show instead of Go On after The Olympics.

  • Jared

Why can’t they show the full episode??..this show is what im looking most forward too on NBC.

  • Chris

They should done what they did with “go on” for all their new shows.

  • Paul

Go On has been getting great responses from Viewers on Hulu.
I’m just not sure The New Normal will be successful with Middle America. I just don’t know about The New Normal. I could see Animal Practice being more successful.

  • Paul

I know this will annoy critics, but the animals in Animal Practice will have mass appeal.

  • SVU: Fringe Division

They probably can’t show the full episode because Fox won’t let them, Go On and AP are Universal productions and Greenblatt is head of both NBC and Universal TV so he could have made a special exception for those pilot episodes.

  • a p garcia

Really not enough of the program was shown even to make a educated guess.

  • s0303

this show looks really awful to me…filled with stereotypes…no thanks.

  • Chris

I can still be for equal rights for gays and not watch Ryan Murphy preachfests, right?

  • TV Gord

Brave of them to show an entire two minutes and 15 seconds without any humor at all.

  • carigis

so.. they are showing the trailer.. wow.

I predict this show will bomb… It just looks dumb.

  • Samunto

In my head i somehow had it that ‘Animal Practice’ was premiering tonight. But it’s a no brainer with critics and all who’ve seen the pilot hailing it.
It makes sense for NBC to try promote their other comedy they want to be a hit.

    I loooooooooooooooved ‘Go On’!
