Update: Grimm averaged a 2.0 adults 18-49 rating, just shy of its high set in its season one debut.

Grimm returns for its second season tonight and a special Monday late-summer run.  On the heels of the Summer Olympics (and its lead-in, Stars Earn Stripes) how will it do?  Grimm drew a series high 2.1 live+SD adults 18-49 rating in its first season premiere on Friday, October 28 last year. It also snared its series high in viewers (6.56 million) in its season 1 premiere. Feel free to explain your prediction in the comments!

    It’ll get a very solid 2.5.

  2. rob60990

If it doesn’t hit a series high of at least a 2.5, it would be a disappointment.

  3. Mi

I hope for a new high

  4. DeeAgeaux

I don’t think NBC has done a good enough job advertising that GRIMM is coming back early. Many people will think new shows are not coming back till late September.

  5. iggy.

    Grimm – 1.3
    Stars & Stripes – 1.0

I’ve seen tons of promos for Grimm’s second season here in Canada on CTV.

  7. Mike

I agreee with DeeAgeaux. Although it will pull in solid numbers, NBC didn’t do enough advertising that GRIMM will be back. I heard from a friend of facebook last night after midnight and I’m always watching TV!

  8. Jon23812

I predict somewhere between 1.4 – 1.8, but think 1.5. This is judging from last seasons ratings.

  9. Anthony

I’d say around a 1.8/1.9 mainly because I don’t think Stars Earn Stripes will do very well.

  10. Joseph

ESPN’s pre-season NFL game will likely dominate prime-time viewing tonight (August 13th).

“Grimm” won’t get the huge numbers NBC is hoping for, but might hit a 2 in the 18-49 demo.

  11. Paul

I predict 8 million 2.5 in the demo.

  12. Scott M

I’ll go with a 1.9, but could definitely see lower. I doubt there’s much carryover from the audience for the Olympics.

  13. Atlanta

Against Monday night football and the finale of The Closer, the numbers, imo, will be disappointing to NBC. Myself, I will be recording it.

I’m just wondering, will NBC make Monday a permement spot for Grimm if the ratings are good enough?

    I hope for atleast a 2.0 But I guess 1.9

I voted 1.8-2.1 but my gut feeling tells me I’m gonna be disappointed, probably gonna get mid 1′s at best… Hope my gut is wrong…

Ill go with a 2.0. It gets what 1.2-1.5 on friday so a 2.0 is the max i see it getting.

  18. Spencer

I’d say 1.8 but hopefully it can get a 2.0. I saw lots of advertising with it so hopefully new people will start watching. Though, Grimm has a very well established fan base, so even I’d the numbers are somewhat low, they are consistent.

I’m going with a lower vote (although I’ll be happy to be proven wrong). I too don’t think NBC has done a good enough job about getting the word out that the show is back early and on a different night and time. I know they figure the Olympics was the perfect time to advertise but I just don’t think so. I also don’t like 10 pm on Monday for the show. Frankly I’ll be recording and watching The Closer/Major Crimes and I’m a Grimm fan.

    High End
    Stars Earn Stripes 2.8-3.2
    Grimm 2.0-2.5

    Low End
    Stars Earn Stripes 2.0-2.5
    Grimm 1.5-1.9
