Huge for the Closing Ceremonies, really bad for Animal Practice.
Oooh, that makes Animal Practice seem even worse.
*Ooof.
Family Guy does so well in repeats.
They need re-make Big Brother where each contestant is put on the rack then sent to ROOM 101 over at the Ministry of Love. Host John Hurt as Winston Smith (since Richard Burton died in 1984 ironically enough) – good name for he will hurt them until they not say they love Big Brother but mean it.
Will an Elephant Man be a guest on Animal Practice? Michael Jackson wanted to buy the original Elephant Mans bones. I wonder if they tried to sell Michael Jacksons bones on Ebay how high the bidding would go?
If NBC had just bumped everything up a half hour they would have seen better results for the (dreadful) Animal Practice.
Start the (Tape Delayed) Closing Ceremonies at 7:30E/8:30C instead of a Team USA recap hour from 7-8. Animal Practice begins at 10:30, retaining the pre-11:00 news audience, and maybe not seeing a 18 million viewer and 50% demo drop.
Or as someone posted on the initial ratings thread, even preview Grimm with a recap special before its early Monday premiere the next night.
I still don’t understand NBC giving so much press to Animal Practice when any of their new comedies would benefit better from the post Olympic preview. Guys With Kids would have been my pick as the Network, even though I would rather have seen the pilot of The New Normal, but I think more viewers would have been retained and gained by NBC with Guys With Kids, instead of Animal Practice.
Its as if the powers that be at NBC don’t want their promising new shows to succeed. Even ABC wised up and switched Suburgatory and The Neighbors to try and boost their audience for Suburgatory and seeing the writing on the wall for The Neighbors, which might have a chance in the lower expectation 8:30 slot, provided they can find a way to make the concept work and not grow tiresome.
I am still upset with NBC blowing off The Who until after the Animal Practice premiere and the local news. They could have gone over 5 minutes for this. Big fan of The Who here…
