Royal Pains was Wednesday's top cable show with a 1.0 adults 18-49 rating. Shark Week special Shark Fight was the number two cable original with a 0.9 adults 18-49 rating.

We only receive the top 100 cable shows for adults 25-54 for the whole day from our primary source, if you don't see your show it was not in that top 100 list.

The list below is long but you can use your browsers "find on page" feature (usually CTRL+F or CMD+F) to search - that's probably the easiest way to find Wednesday night's episode of your favorite show.

  • Jared

    @Ted Linhart

    Quick Question..out of curiosity..why does it matter who produces a series when looking at ratings or demo?..do the two have any correlation?

  • BT

    So glad to see Baby Daddy doing well. Looking forward to second season!!

  • Christian

    @Ted thanks for posting here and providing your insight on how USA network evaluates shows. I’m a tv geek so I’m always fascinated by the behind the scenes machinations of how tv works. Question: rerun ratings of Modern Famiy are not that impressive on ABC. Are USA execs nervous that you guys paid too much and the show might be a flop for the network?

  • Chris

    Royal Pains used to get much better demo–recent changes to the show probably reflect the producers trying to attract younger viewers. Clearly not working. With the Olympics and Dallas both over, it should have gone up higher than this.

  • Martin

    @Ted Linehart

    Just curious, as a big fan of Political Animals, and only one episode left to air, what are its chances of renewal??

    Is it a decision of either/or between that or Common Law to get renewed and does the fact that the show is Emmy bait and IMHO, guaranteed to get a couple of Emmy nominations in the miniseries playing into effect when considering its renewal??

  • Oscar

    Any ratings for Fight Factory from Nuvo last night?

  • Chris

    Ted, just curious–are you making all these posts on the clock? It’s rather unusual for a self-identified VP of network research to show up at a place like this, defending his network’s performance to a bunch of online kibbitzers. I mean, why do you care what we think? And given that we know who signs your paycheck, why shouldn’t we assume you’re just spinning the nielsen #’s to beat the band, the way we all know network people do all the livelong day?

    I’ve been a huge fan of USA’s scripted dramas the last few years, but my interest is flagging a lot lately.

    I’m particularly disappointed by the new direction for Royal Pains. It’s not working for me. I’ve never deliberately missed an ep, but that’s precisely what I did last night.

    Covert Affairs is your only show I have any real enthusiasm for now, and the most recently introduced USA series that I’ve watched at all.

    Obviously I’m writing all this on the assumption you really are Ted Linhart, but I can’t think of any good reason somebody would pretend to be you.

    ;)

  • Tom

    Any ratings for The Exes or Retired At 35??, please.

  • joey

    What are c3 ratings?

  • Tom

    @Aniin

    Just checked it out, yeah that doesn’t seem right, i’d say here are accurate, seems a bit high, they would prob be 0.8 at that viewer level anyway.

    Also The Exes actually beat The Soul Man in adults 18-49 viewers, slightly, but still.

  • Ted Linhart (USA Network)

    @jared. Who produces can impact costs and creative control.

    @christian when we bought the show the reruns were worse. They are better now actually and In fact they have gotten to a point where they are encouraging. A network is always going to be nervous a major investment won’t work no matter if the data suggests good or bad. But it is such an amazing show and has only gotten better that I for one feel so lucky to have it

    @chris. Yes i am on the clock. I tweet for USA all the time as TEDONTV and tv by the numbers site runners and I have public discussions all the time so i am very public and the network supports me (my twitter had a press release announcement when it started 2.5 years ago). You can ask Seidman it is me he has my email to vouch On to you comments each person will have own POV. I have other views who say how they love royal pains and covert is getting tiresome for them. So in the end when all is over for summer we will evaluate the big picture and try to produce the best stuff we can

  • Columbo

    Wonder when Bravo is gonna kick Curtis Stone to the curb. The guy ruins everything.

  • silvit

    @Aniin
    The futon critic has wrong numbers. If you check ABC Family press release, the numbers correspond to the ones posted on this list.

  • The End

    @Ted Linhart (USA Network)

    Forgot to say this, but thanks for dropping by, your thoughts and insights into the workings of your network are quite insightful. And all of us here appreciate the fact you took the time to respond.

    Hope you drop by again in the future.

  • Ted Linhart (USA Network)

    @martin. I can’t comment on chances of renewal in a public forum for any show. Award nomination chances in general can play a role yea

    @joey C3 ratings are Ratings for Commercials up to 3 days after they air. Those are the ratings that are the basis for advertising rates. Advertisers do not pay us anymore for who watches the program but for who watches the commercials inside (a high rated program will have high rated commercials but there are nuances and variations at mid range levels)

  • Ted Linhart (USA Network)

    @chris two more things

    I do this because I am a TV geek at heart and love this site

    You will notice in my answers here I am deliberately not spinning numbers. I am more pointing out to commenters who are making judgments about these numbers that they are not the be all and end all of how we judge at all. I have not disputed any specific claims. I share some of the opinions people have said and not others but of course cannot state which. But I have not said show x is doing great…

    Robert’s taking some well deserved time off, but I’m just back in the Land of the Free and I can vouch for Ted being who he says he is (as well as having been very good to us & our site over the past several years).

  • joey

    @ Ted Linhart thank you.

    “Whats the real ratings for Melissa and Joey and Baby Daddy because The Futon Critic has different numbers for them
    Melissa & Joey ~ 1.629 mil – 0.6
    Baby Daddy – 1.673 mil – 0.5″

    Usually TFC accuracy is good, but those viewership numbers are just wrong. I double checked both our sources and the viewership numbers we have in this post are correct.

  • joey

    I guess the people in the past that thought the only thing that was considered was the 18 – 49 demo myself included now stand correted. Great discussion.
