Univision Finishes the week as the #3 Broadcast Network among Adults 18-49

Univision Ranks as the #2 Broadcast Network among Adults 18-34

Univision Broadcast Prime Highlights – Week of August 13, 2012 to August 19, 2012

 

  • · Univision ranked as the #3 broadcast network among Adults 18-49 last week, out-delivering ABC (+25%) and CBS (+13%). This marks the 10th time in the last 11 weeks that Univision has ranked as the #3 network or higher among Adults 18-49.

 

  • · Univision was the #2 network during primetime last week among Adults 18-34, out-delivering ABC (+81%), CBS (+102%), and NBC (+17%). For the 14th consecutive week, Univision has ranked as the #2 network or higher among Adults 18-34.

 

  • · During the summer months, Univision ranks as the #2 broadcast network among Adults 18-34 beating FOX (+8%), ABC (+23%), and CBS (+117%.)

 

  • · Univision out-delivered two or more of the English-language broadcast networks (ABC, CBS, NBC or FOX) on every night last week among Adults 18-34. Univision also out-delivered two or more of the English-language broadcast networks on six out of seven nights among Adults 18-49.

ü Based on the current 2011/2012 season to date, Univision has out-performed NBC during broadcast prime 72% of the time (242 out of 336 days) among Adults 18-34 and 50% of the time (169 out of 336 days) among Adults 18-49.

ü Additionally Univision has out-performed ABC on 123 nights, CBS on 108 nights, and FOX on 98 nights among Adults 18-49. Furthermore, among Adults 18-34, Univision has out-performed ABC on 218 nights, CBS on 249 nights, and FOX on 132 nights.

ü Moreover, Univision out-delivered one or more of the English-language broadcast networks on six out of seven nights last week among Total Viewers 2+.

 

  • · Univision kicked off the week on Monday as the #2 network among Adults 18-34 and #3 network among Adults 18-49, out-delivering ABC and CBS in both demographics. Univision also premiered its newest novela at 10 p.m. “Amor Bravio” featuring Cristian De La Fuente and Silvia Navarro as the main protagonists.

ü “Amor Bravio” attracted 3.6 million Total Viewers 2+, 1.8 million Adults 18-49, and 977,000 Adults 18-34. The premiere also averaged more Adult 18-34 and Adult 18-49 viewers than first-run episodes of ABC’s “Bachelor Pad” and “The Glass House.”

ü Compared to a year ago, the premiere posted audience gains for the 10p.m. hour among Adults 18-49 (+26%) and Adults 18-34 (+37%).

 

  • · On Tuesday night Univision maintained its rank among both Adults 18-49 (#3) and Adults 18-34 (#2) demographics, out-delivering ABC and CBS for the second consecutive night this week. Univision’s entire primetime lineup ranked among the top 5 programs for both demographics.

 

  • · On Wednesday night, Univision rose to the #2 position among Adults 18-49 and became the #1 network among Adults 18-34. Univision out-delivered ABC, CBS and NBC in both demographics and its primetime lineup ranked within the top 10 programs among Adults 18-49 and top 5 among Adults 18-34. Univision aired the historic soccer match between the Mexican National Team and the United States National Team as the U.S. team claimed victory in Mexico’s Azteca Stadium.

ü The 7:30 p.m. match averaged nearly 4.0 million Total viewers 2+, 2.2 million Adults 18-49, and, 1.3 million Adults 18-34 viewers.

ü Across all program airings, “Eternos Rivales: Mexico vs. Estados Unidos” came in first for the night with Adults 18-34, Men 18-34 and Men 18-49. Among Adults 18-49, it was the #4 program behind NBC’s “America’s Got Talent,” CBS’ “Big Brother 14” and FOX’s “So You Think You Can Dance.”

ü The Wednesday night match is the 2nd most-watched soccer game on broadcast television this year so far (trails only Univision’s Mexico vs. Colombia.)

 

  • · For the second consecutive night this week Univision finished as the #1 network among Adults 18-34 and held the #3 rank among Adults 18-49. Univision’s entire primetime lineup ranked among the top 10 programs for both demographics, and out-delivered ABC and NBC.

 

  • · On Friday night Univision ranked as the #1 network among Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34. Univision’s entire primetime lineup ranked among the top 5 programs for Adults 18-49 and ranked as the top 3 programs among Adults 18-34 demographics.

ü 1.7 Million Adults 18-49 tuned into Univision on Friday night, +90% more Adults 18-49 viewers than NBC, +132% more than CBS, and +15% more than ABC.

ü Univision also held a double to triple-digit advantage among Adults 18-34 delivering 904,000 Adults 18-34 viewers, +17% more Adults 18-34 viewers than FOX, +77% more than ABC+, and 248% more than CBS.

 

  • · On Saturday night, airing “Sabado Gigante” (Giant Saturday), Univision ranked as the #3 network among Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34. “Sabado Gigante” increased its Adults 18-49 audience compared to the prior week (755,000, +7%) and averaged 1.9 Million Total Viewers 2+ and 310,000 Adults 18-34. “Sabado Gigante” also ranked among the top 10 programs among Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34.

 

  • · On Sunday night Univision ranked as the #3 network among Adults 18-34 and held the #4 position among Adults 18-49.

ü Airing “Pequeños Gigantes 2” (the talent competition) at 8p.m. Univision increased its audience compared to the previous Sunday telecast and averaged 3.3 million Total Viewers 2+ (+9%), 1.5 million Adults 18-49 (+10%), and 793,000 Adults 18-34 (+7%),. “Pequeños Gigantes 2” helped Univision rank as the #1 network for the week among Kids 2-11.

 

  • · At 8 p.m., Univision’s novela “Por Ella Soy Eva” (For Her, I’m Eva) helped Univision rank as the #2 network for the hour (M-F) among Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34.“Por Ella Soy Eva” increased its viewership from last week among Total Viewers 2+ (3.5 Million, +3%) and Adults 18-49 (1.8 Million, +3%), and averaged 995,000 Adults 18-34.

 

  • · Univision’s 9 p.m. novela “Abismo de Pasion” (Abyss of Passion) helped Univision rank as the #2 network for the hour (M-F) among Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34. “Abismo de Pasion” averaged 4.1 Million Total Viewers 2+, 1.3 Million Adults 18-49, and 1.1 Million Adults 18-34.

 

  • · In its premiere week, Univision’s 10 p.m. novela “Amor Bravio” helped Univision rank as the #1 network for the hour (M-F) among Adults 18-34 and #2 rank Adults 18-49, out-delivering ABC, NBC, and CBS. Based on the entire week “Amor Bravio” averaged 3.2 Million Total Viewers 2+, 1.6 Million Adults 18-49, and 919,000 Adults 18-34.
