“FACE THE NATION” IS FIRST IN HOUSEHOLDS, VIEWERS AND ADULTS 25-54 (TIED)
CBS News’ FACE THE NATION WITH BOB SCHIEFFER was the #1 public affairs show on Sunday, August 19, placing first in households, viewers and adults 25-54 (tied with NBC). The CBS broadcast posted a 2.0/06 in households, 2.59m viewers and 0.6/03 in adults 25-54, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings. Editor’s Note: FACE THE NATION’s second half-hour was broadcast contiguously across 69% of the CBS affiliates.
FACE THE NATION is up +11% in households (from 1.8/05) and +8% in viewers (from 2.40m), compared to last year.
Television year-to-date, FACE THE NATION is up +11% in households (2.1/06 from 1.9/05) and +6% in viewers (2.86m from 2.71m) compared to last year. Television year-to-date, FACE THE NATION is first in adults 25-54 (0.7/03, tied with NBC).
On the broadcast, Bob Schieffer interviewed former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani, Sen. Richard Durbin (D-IL), anti-tax advocate Grover Norquist, Neera Tanden of the Center for American Progress and ProPublica reporter Kim Barker. Schieffer also led a political roundtable featuring CBS News Political Director John Dickerson, Nia-Malika Henderson of The Washington Post, historian Niall Ferguson and Jeff Zeleny of The New York Times.
