CBS SPORTS TO BROADCAST 17th ANNUAL ARTHUR ASHE KIDS’ DAY HEADLINED BY THE WANTED, CARLY RAE JEPSEN, OWL CITY, CYMPHONIQUE MILLER AND MAX SCHNEIDER ON SUNDAY, AUG. 26
Reigning U.S. Open Champion Novak Djokovic, John Isner, Mardy Fish and Three-Time U.S. Open Champion Kim Clijsters Scheduled To Participate in Star-Studded Music and Tennis Extravaganza

CBS Sports broadcasts ARTHUR ASHE KIDS’ DAY on Sunday, Aug. 26 (12:00 NOON-1:30 PM, ET). ARTHUR ASHE KIDS DAY is a tennis exhibition featuring some of tennis’ greatest players, as well as pop-vocal sensation The Wanted, chart-topping singer Carly Rae Jepsen, special guest performer Owl City and from Nickelodeon’s How to Rock, Cymphonique Miller and Max Schneider.

 

Reigning U.S. Open Champion Novak Djokovic, John Isner, three-time U.S. Open Champion Kim Clijsters and Mardy Fish are among those scheduled to participate in the exhibition that includes skills competitions and tie-break matches.

 

Hosted by AAKD alumnus Jordin Sparks and television personality Quddus, the popular full-day tennis and music festival for children and adults features interactive games, musical entertainment and tennis activities. ARTHUR ASHE KIDS’ DAY is the official kick-off of the 2012 U.S. OPEN TENNIS CHAMPIONSHIPS.

 

CBS Sports will broadcast over 36 hours of the 2012 U.S. OPEN TENNIS CHAMPIONSHIPS with live comprehensive coverage during both weekends of the event, on Labor Day, Monday, Sept. 3 (11:00 AM-6:00 PM, ET) and Friday, Sept. 7 (12:30-6:00 PM, ET). The 2012 women’s championship live in prime time highlights the Network’s “Super Saturday” coverage on Saturday, Sept. 8 (8:00-10:00 PM, ET). The men’s championship will be on Sunday, Sept. 9 (4:00 PM, ET).

Produced by the USTA, Arthur Ashe Kids’ Day honors tennis legend Arthur Ashe and continues his mission of using tennis as a means to instill in kids the values of humanitarianism, leadership and academic excellence. A portion of the proceeds from Arthur Ashe Kids' Day benefits the USTA NJTL (National Junior Tennis League). Arthur Ashe, along with Charlie Pasarell, and Sheridan Snyder founded the NJTL in 1969.

CBS SPORTS SERVES UP MEN’S FINAL FOR WINSTON-SALEM OPEN ON AUGUST 25

With its eye again focused on the U.S. Open Tennis Championships next week, CBS Sports broadcasts the men’s final of the Emirates Airline U.S. Open Series WINSTON-SALEM OPEN on Saturday, Aug. 25 (12:30-3:00 PM, ET) live from Winston-Salem, N.C. Among the notables in the field this year are No. 6 Jo-Wilfried Tsonga; No. 7 Tomas Berdych and No. 10 and defending champion John Isner, among others. CBS Sports’ Bill Macatee and Mary Carillo call the action. CBS Sports’ Craig Silver produces and Mark Grant directs.

    I was at the Arhtur Ashe Kids 2012 with my kids. It was great. We meant to record the airing on the following day but forgot. Is there somewhere I can see a replay of the original airing?
