wow what are these comments, i mean i like Awkward it is fun but it is certainly not awesome for example Anger Mangement is far far far better and funnier and i am not even very fan of multi-camera and enjoy more the Louie, Wilfred type of comedies but the new Sheen show is quite charming, has a great cast with great chemistry with some stories less silly than teen shows like Awkward (wgich i still enjoy but the first season was far better and still it was fun but quite simplistic and not really funny)
Miss Tessmacher & TNA > WWE
TNT shows > USA shows
Anger Management > any NBC comedy except Whitney
Anger Management will fall to Wilfred/ Louie levels at some point, the question is just when. The problem with these kind of contracts is that when there’s a ratings threshold built- in, and for such a large renewal, all judgement goes down the drain. With these ratings for a comedy on FX, it definitely deserves a renewal. But nowhere near a 90 episode commitment. It’s steadily falling, approaching par. I predict that it won’t deserve to live another 90 episodes.
nobody cares about wilfred. remember what a pr push it got last year?
Suits is the most preposterous show on TV. Completely ridiculous. There’s more believability to the plot of Grimm!
Anger Management is getting ratings similar to/worse than what It’s Always Sunny usually gets. It’s not worth the the commitment. Those numbers are just going to keep going down.
It’s Always Sunny and The League prove that FX can have a high quality shows that also draw in viewers. FX doesn’t need to settle for mediocrity. FX is better than this.
Sullivan & Sons is terrible and a remix of ever other bar show…but not nearly as good. The only reason it does descent in the ratings is become people are too lazy to change the channel.
WOW for Suits!! I was hoping it would get a good night, but 1.5!! How satisfying for such a tremendous show to be appreciated by so many people, young and old. Episode was a little slow, but a big punch at the end. And I gotta say: I knew it all along
.
@capslocke — I don’t think Suits ever does a 9 pm slot. The language is too raunchy. So it’s unlikely to be used as a lead-in to something. But who knows? I can’t wait for the January season.
@capslocke
It appears Burn Notice and Suits will be going their separate ways on the USA schedule. BN is returning for its autumn run in November while Suits is coming back in January. Now I’m wondering whether Necessary Roughness is coming back this fall or this winter. USA has already indicated NR is airing its summer finale next week, but it would make sense for NR to return in the fall since its football theme would coincide with the NFL stretch run for the playoffs.
I do agree with one of the earlier posters who said that White Collar would be a better pairing with Suits than Burn Notice, but I think USA had some high hopes for Suits when it premiered last year, so they paired it with their most popular show. Now that Suits is garnering the same ratings as BN, it can be paired with some other shows on the network.
I don’t know if Suits & WC are better suited to run together, but, quite apart from Suits being inappropriate for 9pm, I think the people who liked WC are watching it and those that didn’t….don’t. I’m puzzled at the notion that a high-rated lead-in will suddenly boost the ratings of a show that’s been out there (with huge publicity) for 3 seasons. What USA might do is run one of them opposite shows that are draining their audience on other networks, but…nah. Why screw around with what is working?
I actually think Totally Biased is a funny show and surprised it’s not on the list. I will say that I’m a little disappointed as you would think the host would be equally biased against the left and the right…….make jokes about everyone. Unfortunately, it’s hands off Obama like most comedians.
Go MTV!!!!!! I just know Awkward is gonna increase so much. Its gonna be airing on the day of the VMA’s, so expect the show to get a boost.
You don’t pair like shows together. The way that have it layed out now is how you spread your audience. USA is smart.
Delimart, don’t forget about dropping by dish tv. And its only show that’s making list by WE TV.
The Anger Management contract will get picked up for the finale 90, it will be syndicated 2013, all the $, for Sheen and company depends on this, that is the only reason they can afford to do the show on FX’s limited comedy budget.
These contracts had to be put in place because, TBS, screwed over how many different shows with their 9 to 15 episode contracts where after 4 years you would have a 40episode show made that you could do nothing with…if sony could of got 30 more episodes of My Boys or Bill Engvall then think how much money they could make on the back end.
F/X makes their comedies cheap enough that 0.4 will still make money, they also trying to go broad may be a way to go, they could have must see TV Thursday if they would give their shows at least 20 episodes.
Thur:
8PM:Anger Mgmt
8:30:The League
9PM:Its Always Sunny
9:30:Louie
10:Wilfered
10:30:Archer
With Anger Management being made on the cheap outside of F/X having to order 90 episodes and run them in the course of a season or so, should be a good deal for them…
Looks like FX Thur: will be
8-9 TAHM
9:Anger Mgmt rerun
9:30 Anger Mgmt
TBS was forced to play out the rest Are we their Yet M-f to get through their contract before the episodes go to syndication this fall
@Tj: surprised you think you don’t pair like shows together. Seems to me that’s basic programming. Not that I’m suggesting that Suits & WC belong together, because, apart from both of them taking place in NY and being relatively clever shows, what else do they have in common? But if shows appeal to one gender more than another, or one genre more than another, why wouldn’t you try to introduce new shows to the very audience you’re targeting?
GSN is ecstatic about the American Bible Challenge ratings. While 1.73 million would be ho-hum for most cable channels, it’s a record for GSN.
I don’t have to search for my favorite show cuz its on top. Yay!!!
@Kaylie
What time will Awkward be airing on the day of the VMA’s because I can’t find anything about it?
