CBS SPORTS PREVIEWS 2012 U.S. OPEN TENNIS CHAMPIONSHIPS WITH MEN’S WORLD-RANKED NO. 1 ROGER FEDERER ON SUNDAY, AUGUST 26
CBS Sports’ Bill Macatee, Mary Carillo, John McEnroe and Jim Courier preview the upcoming 2012 U.S. Open Tennis Championships on the U.S. OPEN PREVIEW show on Sunday, Aug. 26 (1:30-2:00 PM, ET) from the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Flushing Meadows, N.Y.
World-ranked Men’s No. 1 Roger Federer sits down with Macatee, Carillo and Courier to discuss his chances of winning a record sixth U.S. Open Tennis championship, and his thoughts of potentially playing against Andy Murray, who he beat in the Wimbledon final this summer but lost to in the gold medal match at the Olympics in London a couple of weeks ago.
“Well, I mean honestly, I got a great, great record against Ferrer,” explains Federer. “So probably I would have preferred to have Ferrer in my section over Murray. And I think that Murray beating me in the Olympic final, it seems like he is really gaining confidence from the Olympic Gold, and on hard courts. He’s always played well here. I don’t really recall that he’s ever had a bad U.S. Open, you know. So I think that makes him tough.” Click here to preview: http://www.cbssports.com/video/player/play/tennis/v8xhRbuDK9Ui
