False. George W. Bush wanted to develop a moon colony (yes, like Gingrich) by 2020, not a manned mission to Mars (Which would not have been technologically feasible by 2020). In 2010, the WH and NASA shifted the mission from a moon colony to instead landing on an asteroid by 2025, and landing a man on Mars by 2030. So… pretty much the opposite of what you’re suggesting here? Obama is guilty, however, of trying to shift conduction of these missions from the public sector to the private sector, which seems an odd choice for a supposed socialist.

Please provide me with a list of specific programs within NASA that are focused on “Islamic outreach,” how much they cost, and who runs them. If this is truly the focus of NASA, there should be a paper trail, programs, Congressional approval, appropriations, something more than a director’s statement to Al-Jazeera.

The real issue should be about the lack of wage growth for decades. You got to love how the argument has been framed about paying taxes. Naturally, making low wages equals low revenue but the GOP politicians want their cake and eat it too.Higher wages and lower taxes, lower wages and higher taxes.

Yeah, My father is on Medicare, he’s gotten his medicare Advantage through United Healthcare for at least 6 years, because that’s when my mother died, and they were on it before then…And in California, the state has forced ALL medicaid patients onto private healthcare plans, and it’s run by a democratic govenor and a democrat legislature…and they try to say it’s the republicans who are trying to privitize medicare…that’s probably why their attack isn’t working…the people they are aiming it at know better..

It’s hard to trust somebody who doesn’t really feel the need to tell what happens to people under a certain age(most likely 55). All they say is they somehow will make it solvent without actually telling us exactly how they will make it solvent. Their message seems like hey old people, we aren’t going to screw you so you’re ok.

Yesterdays interview by Chris Wallace with Mitt and Mrs. You People was a softball fest with lots or sugar. I did not learn anything new about where Mitt wants to take this nation.
I read the comments on this blog and can not believe that my fellow bloggers can’t see through the bull the republicans are dishing out. Lie after republican lie has been refuted by fact checkers and the press yet it doesn’t make a differnce to those who are known to be intelligent.

For Obama to have ‘made cuts’ to NASA the Congress would have had to pass his budget, and as people around here are fond of pointing out, the Congress hasn’t passed a budget in years. Any cuts made to NASA funding have come from Congressional appropriation choices, and the plan to decommission the space shuttle began in 2005, long before Obama set foot in the White House.

The Welfare ads the Republicans have been putting out have been proved false by many fact checking organizations(not just MSNBC). Obama basically allows 2 states who have Republican Governors to take over Welfare for the state, and Romney Claims Obama is trying to stop Work to Welfare rules. Aren’t the Republicans the party that wants “states” rights. It’s like Obama can’t win no matter what he does for the Republicans. Added bonus to this whole Welfare scare tactic, Romney himself when he was Governor of Mass., got the government to hand over rights to try his own welfare system much like he is bitching about now

Who said they didn’t? I was referring to the future. All reasonable people agree it will fail in the near future. They disagree on how to fix it.
The federal government for ages has run Medicare and at a less expensive costs than private insurers. Once the GOP voted in Medicare Advantage program, costs went up any where between 14%-20% depending on area.
So your faith in govt is they ran a program for “ages” that’s now going bankrupt? You should invest in GM.
Vouchers will prove to be as expensive only those costs will be passed on to you when you go to retire.
You can chose to stay with medicare as is. Isn’t it nice the GOP gives you a choice? Stay with the as is plan & see how many providers decline to see you because the govt cut their reimbursement fees.
