Poor ANTM and CW!
Should’ve seen it coming. Hopefully this spels the end of ANTM.
Wow. ANTM’s viewers went down big time.
Football is really killing these final ratings!
ANTM might stay steady for a couple more weeks, but when CSI: New York, Shark Tank and Kitchen Nightmares (or is it Hell’s Kitchen? I always forget) return, it’s surely going down.
Ouch at Top Model! I wonder what The CW will do with it? Cancel it after this cycle, give it a final 20th cycle or save it as a summer show?
Darn ANTM adjusted down.I still love it & dont get all the hate.Dont bash a show you dont like or watch. I bash Nikita but only its ratings which didnt earn renwal imo & imo season two want nearly the quality of one and Nikita operates at $10 million dollar loss and dosent dvf or repeat well or do well in A 18_34 and I doubt itll make ot past this season.
Just out of curiosity – what were the premiere ratings for ANTM last cycle – does anyone know? Moving it to Friday seemed like a bad idea.
I don’t think The CW are ready to cancel this show even with the terrible ratings, i’m not sure but think it is a pretty good overseas seller and they like that.
Also, the same way last season Nikita made Supernatural look good ratings wise (yes I know Supernatural ratings were good especially for the channel, 2nd highest show), I think ANTM will do the same for Nikita.
As I said in the previous thread, I’m under the impression The CW are contracted for ANTM through a 20th cycle and they’re effectively burning it off.
YIKES! I’m pulling for the CW, but damn these numbers are so woeful. It’s flop, after flop, after flop this entire summer. I guess “Oh Sit” will just have to do, till the fall season starts for the network!
I think Top Model will finish this cycle by November sweeps and by then The CW will have made a decision on which Fall show doesn’t get the “back 9″. I doubt he’ll be as friendly this season to this crop of freshman fall shows especially with him having two midseason shows as backup.
^
So either Nikita gets a rerun as a lead-in or a failed freshman show that will finish its run on Fridays.
@Brandy
No one is bashing Top Model, everyone is talking about its ratings? What is your problem/obsession with Nikita? LET IT GO ALREADY!
Brandy, learn to spell and made sense. If Nikita was $10M loss it wouldn’t been renewed. Plus, it does alot of sales over seas and dvd sales, get your facts right
@Brandy
I didn’t understand the Nikita renewal originally but yeah I accepted it, also it won’t be cancelled this season because it will be within syndication for season 4!
The CW has two new midseason shows and will have two empty slots by midseason. So I can definitely see them giving the back 9 to all of their new shows.
Bones did well for fox. A repeat got almost what a new fringe was getting towards the end of last season.
Incidentally, if The CW isn’t trying to burn off ANTM, why are they putting it on at 8pm Friday during Summer? It’s probably the worst timeslot on the network and they’re not exactly short on scheduling space.
@Martin
I don’t think The CW are ready to cancel this show even with the terrible ratings, i’m not sure but think it is a pretty good overseas seller and they like that.
Except that neither CBS or Warner Bros. produces ANTM, so the only revenue it generates them is from ratings. This was fine until recently, because it was one of their highest rated shows and could fill up a second hour with repeats.
I still don’t think they will cancel it, because it should be able to perform better than most of their summer reality shows, but I think this will be the last spring or fall cycle that airs.
